  1. There is more than one app called "blue tooth file transfer". Which one did you use?
  2. Another suggestion would be to tweet your story, or put it on facebook. Heard on the radio that you can get very quick and often satisfactory responses to issues through social media because companies just don't want their name associated with negative comments. A lot of large companies monitor social media... I know mine does... Worth considering.
  3. Polish one might be OK. I bought a german one about a year ago. Basically, german driver bought car that came with full set of CDs. Decided that he would never use the UK one so sold it. Hopefully polish one is similar deal.
  4. As a matter of interest, can your parents account for all their car keys? I have heard of cases where a house got broken into and the owners did not notice that a ste of keys had disappeared, only to see the burglar return some 3 months later to steal the car.
  5. I have to say that I always get the dealer to work on my car. My view is that I won't buy a car if I can't afford to have it serviced within the dealer network. I am reassured by the thought that approved parts will be used and that the engineers dealing with my car have received the proper training and use the right tools for the job. I think it is worth building a good relationship with the dealer, and if and when things go wrong and you have entrusted your car to them over the years, they are more likely to help out. I appreciate that loyalty tends to be a thing of the past, but I also think that if you invest a little time and effort in building a good relationship with the dealer / service staff, it will serve you well in the future. I know most of the staff at my local dealership by name and always have a chat with them. I know them, they know me, and a little politeness and respect go a long way. I am appalled when, while waiting to be dealt with, I hear the condescending tone of some other customers and how they treat dealership staff. Driving an expensive car does not give you the right to treat others with contempt. At the end of the day, when you end up in a garage, you need them more than they need you! Treat others the way you expect to be treated and they are likely to do the same. Feel free to disagree!
  6. www.maplefleetservices.co.uk/alarm http://maplematters.com/2011/11/18/maple-launch-catalytic-converter-theft-prevention-device/ CatGuard Alarm I did wonder whether or not I am allowed to post this, but since it is an advert that appears within the forum, I am assuming it's OK.
  7. Ah... the one I see is about a company advertising an alarm for Cat converters.
  8. Don't you love targetted marketing? seen the advert that now shows udner your last post?
  9. Duncan, the car maybe older... but it's only done 47k miles! - still a spring chicken... I am always suspicious of technicians who give you quotes based on an error code and without a thorough investigation. as suggested, I would trawl US sites... check here for instance: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/esp_search.php?query=CO274&type=gcs One post suggests that it could "just" be the brake pump. Another mentions a corroded loom. Can you go to another dealer for a second opinion?
  10. Or to Southampton Hedge End Lexus. Shame your local dealer is so poor when others clearly live up to the reputation of the brand.
  11. Judging by the photos, this refers to the latest RX350, which is not available in the UK... i.e. what we know as the RX450h, but with a petrol only engine.
  12. I believe you can get petrol only 450s if you are happy to buy an import. Only the hybrid is officially imported to the UK, but there are other models...
  13. I think that before you start worrying about fuel return, there arre a few threads that you should read. There are a lot of parameters to consider before you decide whether or not your Petrol consumption is good, bad or just acceptable. to name but a few... - hills vs flat - short vs long journey - heavy vs light foot - weather - aircon switched on or off - motorway vs town & A roads - seize of wheels + type of tyres All these - and others - will have an impact on how much you use and rely on the electric vs petrol driven components
  14. There are some recent and interesting threads on tyres... check them out. I don't know about mileage - not really paying attention - but I have notice that my tyres tend to wear unevenly and more on the inside than the outside. I regularly have the tracking checked, but tyre specialist tells me that it is common to the RX. Anyone experienced the same?
  15. I have bought the RING bulbs for my other car that takes H7 for both dipped and high beam because an online supplier currently has a very good deal on these, and also because they have very good reviews. Very pleased with the result. The spread of the beam is longer and more even that the ones that were previously fitted to the car, and the light is much brighter and whiter.
  16. Good result, but I still don't get it. If there had been leakage, the mirror would no longer dim... and you would not need to replace the whole unit.
  17. aaahhh... it all makes sense now! I wonder if this post might be of help: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/86055-two-drl-solutions-which-one-do-you-like/ The originator had a similar issue to yours. If you are looking for a more permanent solution, he may be able to help.
  18. 1. You say that the mirror starts misting up again after 15 minutes. Can you confirm that the mirror on the other side does not? If both mist up, I would just blame it on the very damp conditions. 2. CAn you confirm whether or not the mirror is dimming by comparing it with the one on the other side? As per Boxbrownie's comments it should be easy to spot. 3. I believe it is easy to remove the glass from the casing by wedging a pencil behind it and leveraging it out. Be careful not to pull it out too far so as to not damage/disconnect any of the wiring. You should then be able to see whether or not there has been any kind of leakage etc. 4. I am not tooo sure how the dimming works, but if it is to do with LCD technology, I would imagine that it would be an LCD film between two panes of glass and that the film gets "activated" via a low electrical current. Assumning that this is correct, then I would guess that, at most, all that is required is for the glass to be replaced. Given that the mirror still folds and tilts, I can't think why you would need to replace the whole unit! Maybe some of our more technical contributors will comment further.... Are you able to take it to another dealer for a second opinion? (consider going to a Toyota dealer instead....)
  19. The light sensor is the little round thingy at the base of the windscreen towards the left. BUT, you don't need to touch it... just manually override the auto setting by switching the control stalk from Auto to ON as suggested above. Same you would do when driving in the rain, but when the light is not low enough for the lights to switch on by themselves. (Do tell me you that you do switch your lights on manually in such circumstances! )
  20. How about HB3/9005 Ring XENON Ultima? Seems to have very good reviews
  21. Also, if you are going to phone, you can try one than one dealer if your nearest one is not particularly helpful. Staff at Lexus Hedge End (Southampton) are always extremely helpful. I recommend that you speak with Dan in sales or Julie in the service department. If they can't answer your question, they'll go find out from you and get a techie to phone you back.
  22. ooo.... I have an ultrasonic toothbrush!... I wonder.... B)
  23. You ought to phone them first. It may be something that they could help you reset over the phone. Incidentally what do the three buttons do? - There is only one on the 400h!...
  24. Has anyone used the company that advertises DAB radio upgrades via a banner at the top of this forum? Any good? Recommend it? What are the prices like?
