  1. It sounds strange, for what I remember also in 2008 GS you can add till 1000 numbers, if you have much time also manually ... Try looking at phone menu in car.
  2. I agree, RC has a very sport image, but it has more sense with a powerful engine , and the suspensions scheme is taken from GS for front and IS for rear. Also price of Rc 300h is in the middle from IS and GS, so you made a good deal buying GS.
  3. Best choice, RC 300h has more aggressive shapes, but technically GS is more practical and refined than that sporty coupé, that has more sense with a bigger engine.
  4. Welcome to another GS satisfied owner :) If you miss performance, set to SPORT mode your new car and have fun.
  5. Short trips force engine to make more S1 cycles (warm-up) and this worsen mpg very much.
  6. No, it is not possible, unless to make a hardware modification rather complicate; I read it somewhere in forum about it made by a russian guy.
  7. Yes, GS 300h, and if you like extreme performance a GS 450h.
  8. I have on my GS, but it has been dismissed in later versions; probably it's not possible to add it in your LS because are needed also IR lights and probably IR sensitive cams, but if in newer LS the feature is present may be asking to yur Lexus dealer you could, paying too much money, even if the system is effective in seeing people in dark areas.
  9. No problem about setting on navi a new destination while in motion. About mpg, today I tried to have good mpg in city trip, obtaining 53.5 , just keeping low and regular speed and trying to avoid sudden braking :)
  10. About mpg, expect a bit less mpg than a IS 300h, mainly because of slight more weight and probably larger wheels. About my GS 300h with 235/40 r19 tyres I get 16 km/l=45 mpg , not bad but I drive with much traffic, easy to get better.
  11. Ehm, GS 450h has eCVT too , but also 120 HP more than IS 300h.
  12. Hi Stuart, happy to read another GS 300h owner , I have same car, totally satisfied with it. Don't worry about battery life. If you have a specific question ask, if you like to read more about GS, you can read in forum topics regarding the little sister IS 300h with same engine. And if you like to read tests, here is one: http://carproductstested.com/cars/2014-lexus-gs-300h-premier-review/
  13. May be it's needed J2534 protocol , not supported in that interface, try asking to carista programmers.
  14. Have you paired the obd BT device with your phone?
  15. Modern chargers have a maintenance current controlled by battery voltage, if you use one of these no problem to leave them connected ; of course not the same if you use a traditional battery charger.
  16. DVD is copy protected, the best legal solution is to buy on ebay the single DVD of region you use, usually DVDs are sold in a set of 4 , N, E, W, Central Europe, so many ppl try to sell not used ones.
  17. No, IS 300h has a micro SD card for maps, you can buy it at Lexus map store but you need the activation code that Lexus send you with the SD and this code is generated from code number of navigation system; a bit complicate way to avoid copying. For HD systems it' worse, as maps can be copied to hard disk only at Lexus dealer, and even if you dare to extract disk it's access is crypted.
  18. Don't expect results like in a diesel car, in a aspirated gasoline engine you will get few HPs, even if probably you will have a better response on pedal.
  19. You can find many videos on tube, but the question if it's useful to set to manual to achieve best performance is interesting: in my opinion it's uninfluent, as fake gears have to purpose to have more or less engine braking. For what I have seen , you should expect a 0-60 time at about 8 seconds; if your car has few miles you will have better times after 8.000 miles. Why so many? Consider that in hybrid cars the petrol engine works for half time compared to not-hybrids.
  20. I gave a look to pads changing procedure and it's necessary to disconnect 12V battery and leave the driver door open , to avoid electric pump intervention to keep pressure in circuit. Little more complicate than usual pads change.
  21. Uhm , I have a hybrid and the difference is only that brakes last longer, any mechanic can change pads, they are like other cars, and all repairing are of course made with engine off...
  22. In spritmonitor you can give a look to single drivers and there is a statistic about the kind of roads they use, and many are Germans too, with some motorways with no sped limits.
  23. If you worry about real mpg, go and look at sites like spritmonitor or fuelly to have an idea... and if you like something more than a IS, go for a GS, I drive a GS300h and absolutely love it. Another interesting alternative could be the new RC 300h.
