  1. If you don't care for mileage, GS450h has all the power you need and even more ;-) , I bouught a 300h also because I could never use all the power my former 450 had; enjoy it.
  2. At the moment to change my previous Hybrid GS 450h, to have cheaper costs, I decided to buy a GS 300h , expecially thought for fleets , less thirsty engine and with services prices like IS 300h or NX 300h; of course power is 120 HP less and max speed is only 120 mph (limited for technical reasons), but if you care for maintenance costs it could be a valid alternative to 450h, that is quite a fast car.
  3. If there are not legal issues about warranty, at least intermediate servicing can be done by any repairer, or even DIY. Lexus have service plans, and usually you can spend a bit less. Official servicing is not so cheap, but the overall service costs in life for hybrid cars are MUCH lower compared to traditional cars, brake pads last twice, no turbines and other components that can break.
  4. Probably it depends if you drive in well covered zones or not, where I live internet coverage is usually good, besides on my GS there is a wifi hotspot by Lexus using diversity antennas and the signal reception is better.
  5. Probably the quality of DAB in UK is low because of compression and low kbps, here in Italy DAB stations are few and quality is far better than FM stations. For best audio quality I found interesting some internet radio, like Linn Radio, trought cell phone and BT, using app Tunein or others.
  6. Here service interval is every 15.000 km. (less than 10000 miles), with a intermediate and complete service alternating. Intermediate is basically a change of oil and filters.
  7. EV mode is NOT a way to maximize economy, because HV batteries have to be recharged soon or later, and doing this requires energy that is always in some part lost during transformation in electricity. The best way for economy of fuel is keeping the charge in HV constant over half charge indicator sign and using pulse&glide technique while driving.
  8. In cars with torque converter there is no problem in keeping in N , while if you have a hybrid Lexus N has to be avoided all the time you can, as in that setting there is no recharge of hybrid batteries.
  9. Have you tried is300h in SPORT mode? The response is quite different from lethargic ECO mode and also from NORMAL. Or at least so it is on my GS 300h with same engine. Of course, overall acceleration is not that of a GS 450h, but more than sufficient to move the car.
  10. I already have written in thread that you can download a app to create a DUN protocol in android phones, I don't know if there is something similar for apple.
  11. I had a similar experience as insane taxation is also here in Italy, and I drove a GS450h like Colin suggested. At the end of meditation I traded it for a Premier GS 300h, and even if I sometimes miss the power of my former 2008 450h, I am satisfied of new GS, for sure more tax-friendly.
  12. Try these: http://www.orange.co.uk Primary DNS: 195.92.195.94 Secondary DNS: 195.92.195.95
  13. Same to me, but the odd is that I have the same phone and some time ago it worked... I have to make some experiments, but may be it's related to the position in which the numbers are stored, at the moment I have them stored in SIM and not in phone memory, and it does not work; have to try copying in phone and see if something changes.
  14. Sorry for my last post full of typing errors :) . Usually phone companies show in technical help pages the DNS addresses, but unluckily not all companies permit to use DUN protocol; may be some user of EE or ORANGE can give the answer, I don't live in UK and so I don't know about it.
  15. Have you checked on Lexus site if your phon is compatible ? Creating sonnection, on my nav system for some telephone companies the settings are automatic, but at the beginning I did not succeeded because may android phone had not DUN protocol; luckily there is a app to implement DUN and after installing it works now.
  16. When HV batteries are at full charge if you go on braking usual brakes work, so it's time to use engine braking inserting low gears to avoid overheating and wasting brake pads; the energy will be lost in heat.
  17. The point is that if Lexus uses progressive numbers, my version seems very old...
  18. Trying to understand more about Nav System on my GS 300h, I gave a look on Lexus care , section BT compatibility for phones, and version numbers are quite different, ranging from VC03100J to VD18100D ....
  19. The strange fact is that initially I had Google and Tomtom search in menu, and I subscribed services on Lexus Customer Portal , but after Subscription I don' t succeed to connect from car, and meanwhile in menu they have disappeared. It seems that services work better in Toyota, but portal is still a work in progress.
  20. For what I know, for UE there are connected services, but at the moment nothing working here in Italy. About my Navigation System, the fw is VA00110A and BT 21.210 , hope in some update for next service.
  21. About suspensions, you have to switch from Sport mode to Sport+ mode, moving clockwise one more time the mode knob. You should notice also a stiffer steering wheel.
  22. From unitjuggler.com : 15 km/l = 42 mpg 16 km/l = 45 mpg 19 km/l = 53.5 mpg 12.5 35.3 10.5 29.6
  23. Sorry but some troubles with metric conversion :) In real driving , Always with AC on, I do about 15-16 km/l . Trying to have best mpg, I did at about 90m km/h (Always with AC on), more than 19 km/l, with cruise on. In sport mode, with no care for fuel (and speed limits), 12.5 km/l ; with GS 450h I made 10.5 (more or less). Highway driving , respecting limits and intense traffic, 15 km/l . GS 300h is NOT slow indeed, even if I prefer to drive in Normal mode because in ECO mode the accelerator response is a bit sleepy, while if you need a better response SPORT mode is quite better and somewhat sporty; I tried with Torque android app a 0-100 km/h (0-63 mph) and while in ECO is 9.2 (as written on specs), in Normal is 9 and in SPORT 8.5. A note, mpg could be better with smaller tyres, mine ones are 245/40 R 19 The dynamic behaviour is wonderful , in my GS also AVS, but it seems it's very good also without. The max speed at 190 km/h is due to technical limits of eCVT, not a power problem; same issue was solved in GS 450h with a dual gear to achieve max speed limited to 250 km/h.
