  1. Hi, you'd probably be best asking over on LOC USA or Club Lexus as I know quite a few of the guys over there have their cars modified for what you're after :)
  2. Probably worth resetting the ECU and taking it from there, could be anything, worn out o2 sensors, spark plugs and all sorts can cause issues. Are you talking a big difference or just a little bit? Try the ECU reset anyway and see what happens - just open the fusebox near the battery in the engine bay and remove the ETCS and EFI fuses for a minute or two and that will do the trick :)
  3. It's on North Street mate, if you've not tried it their chicken tikka sandwich is mega :) There's a little ice cream shop on the corner near it, I found it by accident when having a wander around one day :)
  4. I'm bouncing this seriously old thread as I'll be having one of these on Saturday :D And as for the UK, best chicken kebab I've ever had was from Jamal's in Nelson!
  5. Mega, get some beer chilling dude and we'll see you on Saturday I think!
  6. The Monster is an awesome piece of kit, remember the first time Mat took me for a drive when we were in Soltau - it was still limited on the revs and it still scared the crap out of me! And Mat, don't forget, are we having kebabs and blueberry milkshakes next weekend?!
  7. That £140 is a good price - I paid £170 second hand! As something totally different, if you just want the numbers why not get one of the AEM TruBoost controllers? They're a similar price but a gauge but with a much fancier display (and also a boost controller should you ever need it)? I think the Profec E01 can alter settings on the eManage Ultimate so if you're thinking of going down that route then the E01 would be your best bet, although probably overkill - then again any boost controller on a TTE SC really is to be fair.
  8. It will but it's a LOT of work - you're talking lots of custom fabrication and you need a tuner who is very experienced who would be able to do this. Just look at Monster-Mat or Gsportcars threads from the past and you can see just how long it took to get a 2JZ-GTE up and running in an IS shell :) You're looking at months and I'd have said many thousands if not upwards of €10,000 and many months of work :o
  9. Here we go, a Wiki that explains it better than I can: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boost_controller
  10. A boost controller lets you adjust the boost the car runs, usually used in turbo applications, basically it has a solenoid that keeps the wastegate closed for longer I think. Boost controllers can only raise boost though - you cannot limit boost with a boost controller. I've got one of these, nice bit of kit :)
  11. I like having the moonroof open at night when it gets warmer, people think I'm strange but they do it all the time abroad!
  12. i think the kit itself carries TUV approval, not sure about that HKS FCD though? Awesome work though, it does make a big difference to the car :)
  13. Happy birthday mate! Hope you have a great day mate whatever you get up to :)
  14. Winner :) Tell your sister to stop looking at the mucky websites :P
  15. That looks great, look forward to seeing the pics when she's all done :) Bet you can't wait to have a drive now :D
  16. That looks ace, that kit really is the business!
  17. That's ok mate, just delete that entry from that key and that'll clear it - although probably worth rebooting afterwards just to see it it comes back? But saying that, once you've deleted the data out of that entry, just run the following commands at the command prompt: wuauclt /detectnow wuauclt /updatenow That should kick off the Windows Update checks and stuff - see what happens there, maybe worth trying it via the other way you're trying where you get that message too, but at least we're on the right track now :) If it still errors just pop the new copy of that WindowsUpdate.log online and we can take it from there.
  18. That's weird mate - it's definitely showing in the log as using that proxy - can you do us a favour again please mate and log on as an admin user and do Start - Run: regedt32 And then when that launches browse to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections\WinHttpSettings Any settings in there about localhost and port 7171?
  19. Yeah a quick Google turfs up that it does look like you have a trojan on there and it's that which has configured the proxy settings - do you have any software such as Norton / McAfee or AVG installed as if not you really need to get some and then do a full scan. Guessing it's done that so it can inject adverts and popups into the standard browsing session easily. If you try disabling the proxy first see if that lets you out to do a Windows Update and then take it from there - prob worth downloading AVG if you're not running AV: http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe
  20. Have you got some NetNanny software or something on your computer dude? It's trying to get out via a proxy which is denying the connection or flatout just not working - it's pointing back at your PC on port 7171. In Internet Explorer can you please just check the settings for the proxy - it's in Tools - Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings and then the proxy box - you're probably best off clearing all of this as it's currently set to Localhost and Port 7171. If you clear that and then try it that may sort it - also have you installed any firewall software lately or net management stuff as that could have done this?
  21. I agree with Gareth, and seeing as you can get some awesome imports from Japan which are ten years old which means you don't need to worry about ESVA it would definitely be better to do that :) Plus you've got something that came like that stock, without having to go through all the expense, heartache and headaches of doing the swap! Plus you could also probably bring in an Aristo with a single turbo and all the trimmings for much less than the swap would cost :)
  22. To be honest don't worry about that proxycfg line as I just copied that off another site - can you zip up a file called c:\windows\windowsupdate.log and attach it as that'll help identify what's actually wrong :)
  23. If you've got admin rights try this: Click Start - Run and then enter cmd.exe and click OK - this will launch the command prompt. Enter the following commands and press return after each one: proxycfg -d net stop wuauserv rmdir /s %windir%\softwaredistribution If it asks you to confirm at this point press Y and it will clear that folder completely - once complete enter the following command: net start wuauserv Once that is done try and connect to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and see if that then works. As Mike says loads of recent viruses / worms also cause AU to bugger up, might also be worth checking the contents of this file to see if it is pointing system at the wrong IP addresses: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
  24. The Driftworks coilovers are the HSDs - Driftworks get HSD to build them to their specs and Driftworks are also the European Distributor for them. I'm very happy with the HSD HR's I have on mine, they do knock, but they perform very which was my main interest.
  25. What a disappointment this thread is! And for the rest of you that are disappointed - let's have some proper skirt - let's start with that fit bird off 24 :D Ah that's much better
