    Sorry I mean titch Ls, if you google it, you will notice even if you change the gearbox oil on a BMW and an audi, their gearboxes still fail, it's a common fault with them.

    Parrot of doom, I don't know if you know, but if you google it, BMW and audi do have issues with their automatic gearboxes whether you change the oil or not.

    Yes it's is the alternator, I had this same issues on one of my older ls400, I got another alternator supplied and fitted from a Japanese breaker for £40, and all was sorted

    There is also another fuse box passenger side footwell, it's a bit of so and so to get to though

    Feel sorry for the person who bought that, it had no paperwork with it and it looked tatty, and from what I remember also was the bonnet didn't line up properly, the headlight on the right hand side was very very yellow compared to the left headlight

    Well guys, I went down there, spoke to the trader and asked how come the car has the mk4 front end, his reply because it is a mk4, I said no it isn't, it's a 1996 model , it's got the front end from the 1998-2000 model, he then said I know about the ls400 as I've had so many and this car looks right, my reply was no it doesn't, something doesn't add up, his reply was I don't know then, I asked to see the v5, he said he doesn't have it, I said I'll leave it then. So there you have it.

    It's just a personal choice, I used to work for Halfords good few years ago, ppl who used their own brand of oil drove fords and Vauxhalls and them rubbish French cars, and I wouldn't use it in my Lexus, nope never.

    I wouldn't touch Halfords own brand car engine oil, I'd go for castrol edge or magnetic or even Mobil, but never Halfords own brand.

    It gets better, remember I told you guys old Baz bought an ls400 of him and was told everything works etc and it turned out it needed wheel bearings, well anyway old Baz had a visit from the police with regards to the Dudley idiot, it turns out not only does he sell dodgy cars and clocks the mileage back, he's also a benefits cheat.

    Sorry to hijack this, but I have lpg on my ls400 and just wanted to ask, when the car runs on LPG, does the range thing still suppose to go down even though I have enough fuel in the tank?

    I had a flashlube fitted on my ls400, like ifty I had it done as a precaution.
