  1. Yes. I believe so, BUT! The rear of the SportCross weighs more, so there maybe an increased drop than the saloon.
  2. I got my bosch from fleabay. Retro fitted wiper connectors already on. I've had them a year now, still brilliant.
  3. Yeah, as long as it has been serviced regularly and the cambelt done at 60,000 miles and 120,000 miles, you'll be fine, I bought mine at 123,000 NO CAMBELT CHANGE!!!! but it was fine, I did the cambelt straight away and I've now got 145,000 miles and it runs sweet.
  4. Hello. . . Yeah, as a constant drive, I think 500 miles in the first gen IS is achievable all the time, once you're into a rhythm and there's no traffic, you can just keep on going. But around town and where I work (Newport, South Wales) i'm getting around 220-240 from 35 litres, but I am driving like a grandpa!
  5. I haven't had any luck finding a 7.5" rear alloy, but I'm not running 15 mm spacers at the front and 20 mm spacers at the rear and am using 7" 17'S with 215/45/17 tyres on. No issues with arch gap, if I lowered Zorro, I may have some issues, but not at the moment.
  6. I have upgraded to the 5 spoke alloys and have just fitted the sport grill. It makes the car look so much nicer, just got to respray the grill, i'm going to book in for the bumper to be done too, chips and scratches . . . . That arm rest is a tempting thing. maybe later in the year.
  7. Welcome to the site. I've had my SportCross for a year and a month and 20,000 miles and absolutely love it. The boot space makes so much sense. Great colour you've got, too.
  8. Hi guys. I'm going to have to pull out. My wife's aunt is coming home from Australia for a fortnight from April 2nd. I'll be there for the next meet up. PetayV8. Good luck for the future. Don't forget, send plenty of pics of American cars. ChrisIS300SportTTE. If you do decide to move to Italy and go before the next meet, good luck with everything.
  9. Njathind, i purchased my IS SportCross last January. He is my daily driver. I have an average MPG of 31.7. I do drive delicately, but have given it the beans a couple of times. 400 miles from a 70 litre tank is achievable, but that's nearly £90 a time. WiM alignment is a must, £115, as are low resistant, eco, tyres, i paid £438 for 5 HanKook Types from Lexus Cardiff. They were the tyres I wanted and Lexus beat the prices of the internet places. Car tax is a£280 a year, unless you get one that is March 2001 or older, at which point it is £225. I Love this car.
  10. Following lengthy discussions with staff at Adrian Flux. Very competent and supportive, their one off payment was the best I could find. Unfortunately, I need to pay monthly this year and the charges set by the finance company to facilitate this, meant that another provider was cheaper. Next year, if I am in a position to pay in one payment, I would be returning. Owners Club discount was included in the quote.
  11. Knocking Noise! Same here. I'm going to get the lower front bushes changed and the anti roll bar drop links. The only other thing I can think of then is the Shock Absorber. But I'm hoping to get new ones to lower my SportCross, so I'll be getting these in due course anyway. Annoying. A Lexus should not make these noises!!
  12. I insured with Adrian Flux last year and was very happy. My renewal came in nearly £30 a year more, so I explained that I had done some comparison quotes and found that another company was cheaper. Adrian Flux redid the figures and offered a 'one payment' quote cheaper, but the finance company wanted more per month than the 'other company'. Adrian Flux said they couldn't do anything about the finance company for the monthly payments and wished me well with the new company . . . . Hmmmm . . . I didn't ask about the Owners Club Discount!!??
  13. Fair enough, I'm dreading getting new tyres for Zorro. I paid £430 for 5 last Feb . . . .
  14. Lol. I've seen that a couple of times. Some roads are atrocious!
  15. www.nextgreencar.com/car-tax/bands.php This is the current 'Tax Band' table.
  16. Good morning and welcome to the club. If you get a pre March 2001 model, the road tax is less! The government changed the pricing around this time and the older models are only £225 for the year (don't quote me on the price, I'll get the link in a moment. Lol) Make sure the cambelt has been changed if it has mileage over 60,000. Lexus initially recommended changing it ever 100,000 miles, but some issues were found in a small number of cars, so they updated their recommendation. I have seen IS' on Autotrader for as little as £500 and some of the newer models' owners are asking over £3000 for. So if you are looking at a cheaper tax 2001 model, aim for £1000 - £1500. A full service history and a clean car will be worth more. Don't fret too much at the high mileage models. I bought mine with 125,000 miles on it. I didn't research, but have been lucky. Engine wise, if serviced regularly and the cambelt has been done, they should be fine for 200,000 miles +.
  17. Saving the Pennies for a Wheel Refurb, Respray and Suspension . .

  18. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201308238452332/sort/default/usedcars/quicksearch/true/make/lexus/price-to/1500/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/postcode/cf833ee/page/1?logcode=p Mileage doesn't bother me, I bought my IS with 125,000 on the clock and am now waiting for 150,000 to tick over. Is £690 a realistic price? I know the car should be worth more, but people are still scared about buying old big petrols . . . .
  19. I like the Civics. Very nice looking cars. Have you seen the new, due to launch, Civic Estate? VERY NICE! (I like estates . . . . . . . . )
  20. An opportunity to work in the states! I can think of very few people who would say no. Enjoy it and get down to SEMA if you can. We want photo's from our man on the ground. Lol.
  21. The car looks great, but the prices are still reflecting the publics fear of big petrols . . .
  22. Totally agree Chris. I'm going to make an appointment to see them and discuss these issues. £1200 is a big outlay, even if the reduction I costs can be recouperated quickly. I also need to ask about petrol useage for stop start and town driving. I use the car at work, not just the commute. I'm not going to rush into this. I am aware of the effect LPG has had on some IS'. Thank you for your concern Chris.
  23. No, probably not. lol. and you're going to USA . . .
  24. Indeed. My mileage for the this first year was a surprise to me. 20000 miles . . . . . . Heaven forbid, if I did this again after the conversion, I would have covered the cost during that first year. Meaning the following year would be cheaper motoring, just a matter of factoring in the servicing costs. I think I could be saving £1000 - £1500 a year if I convert . . . . Hmmm . . . . . . .
