  1. I have used BlackCircles.com valuetyres.co.uk and camskill.com for price comparisons. I have not had the tyres sent via mail. I actually then contacted Lexus Cardiff who beat the prices offered by all. I ordered my tyres through them and had them fitted and balanced cheaper than the above internet companies.
  2. The Wheel Specialist will do 5 Alloys for £320. I haven't quoted them for 4. lol. about to get my winter wheels done. Very happy with the Cwmbran team, not sure what the other teams in the franchise are like. To the original poster, the alloys you have, are they the multispoke? or are you wanting the mulitspoke because your current wheels are so badly corroded?
  3. You are absolutely correct, I have put my review in the General Review section. and it was this review that Cardiff Lexus responded to.
  4. A Big Congratulations to Lexus Stoke. There are dealerships out there who would've said, Warranty says No, i'm gonna have to charge you!. Would you be prepared to write something similar in the dealership reviews section? This is one area of the forums the Lexus Dealerships look at and positive stories often get forgotten about. We like to remember the negative ones.
  5. I'm having a similar problem . . I think. It's sounds like what you'd imagine a rusty spring to sound like, but only when I go over speed bumps. I've had my mechanic look at it twice now and he says everything is tight and there is no apparent play, he's checked the callipers and says he cannot replicate the noise in the garage, but it is evident when the vehicle is being driven. He thinks it could be the shock on it's way out (at 140,000 miles, I would be surprised) or it could be an Anti Roll Drop Link. But he said that there is not movement and the car feels tight, so he's recommending to do nothing and just monitor the situation as he cannot be sure where the noise is coming from and doesn't want to carry out work on one and it be the other.
  6. Not wanting to sound patronising, but there are a couple of things that can be done. A service will help ensure the engine is running as it should. I use Forte Advanced Gas Treatment for cleaning the fuel lines, engine etc. A full bottle to half a tank of petrol and drive until the fuel light comes on. Wheels In Motion Alignment. Tony Bones identified a number of years ago an issue that Lexus still won't acknowledge. This causes the increased tyre wear especially to the fronts and especially to the inner part of the tyre. Altering the camber at the rear will also give a touch more grip and ultimately a slight improvement in MPG. Finally. Snow Mode. This helps regulate the throttle response and stops you from over revving. It dulls the response at slower speeds to stop you from spinning up the rear wheels in snowy/icy conditions. Around town, it could help with MPG.
  7. Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Nice looking car.
  8. Check with the garage that did the cambelt. I bought mine and the dealer said it had been done. It hadn't 122,000 miles and no cambelt replacement! ?! I was lucky, I did it straight away, but it was another £650 to do it! These cars are becoming stupidly cheap and sellers are getting blasé about the information they give to sell them. A good write up might put an extra £250 on the asking price, but you can knock them down. Anyone here selling?
  9. The motorway runs will improve the fuel economy, but, yeah, around town you need to be so delicate. If you're stuck in traffic, you'll be crying at the way it drinks fuel. I have an average MPG of nearly 32 over the last 20,000 miles. It is achievable.
  10. I purchased them off a fellow IS driver, but I think they are on ebay for around £65 a pair. I've gone 15mm at the front and 20mm at the rear on each hub, so a 30mm total width increase at the front and 40mm at the rear. As for improved handling . . . I think it feels better? But until I change the centre of gravity . . . Lower him, the improvement is probably negligible. It'll look so much better with my 17"s on.
  11. When I took Zorro in, they suggested replacing front shocks, front bushes (not sure which?) And applying copper slip to the brake pads and stripping, greasing and refitting the caliper slide pin. An independent mechanic said he could not see a problem with any of the above!?! But the noise is still there. Apparently, it's worth checking the anti roll drop links? Also the wheel bearing could be going, despite not having any movement when being checked???
  12. There are plenty available at decent prices, as you say, it's a matter of finding the right one. I paid £2100 for mine with 122,000 miles on the clock. 54 plate too!
  13. Nice! I wanted to keep the standard 17"s, so Spacers were for me. I've seen some great wheels fitted to IS' mind, so it'll look good. Did you say you've not yet bought it?
  14. Lol. Modded Micra. My last car was a 1.0l Vauxhall Corsa, we started looking around for a new car and could not imagine that we would've ended up in a Lexus. I decided to keep it Stock. Enjoy the luxury. Then I started . . . . Very subtle, but changes are being made. Zorro had 16"s as standard alloys, so I got myself a set of Standard 17"s and use these for Summer Wheels. I had a Grom Audio device fitted to the standard Head Unit. I retro fitted the Chrome Gear Knob, because the aftermarket one a previous owner fitted was hideous. I've bought fuel&engine cleaner to help improve the efficiency. I've just put some spacers on too, 15mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear. Next Year I want to get some new shocks and springs and a sport grill and some wind deflectors.
  15. Zorro is in need of a wash, but he wanted to show off his spacers and snow boots
  16. They think it's the caliper? Mine started doing this when I put my 16"s with winter tyres on, but it wasn't happening with the 17"s and summer tyres? new set has been balanced, but they do require a refurb . . . .
  17. Lol. Yeah, if you can drive an IS300 as economical as an IS200, you're not doing it right!
  18. We'll done :) I've done over 20,000 miles this year already? Zorro's been serviced twice, MOT'd twice. But the interior is still quite fresh. 140,000 on the clock now though . . .
  19. It looks so, plain, compared to your IS200SportTTE. lol. Cream interior is fine, I've used mine to take rubbish to the Tip, I've had sets of tyres in the car, it always cleans up really quick. The head unit looks great.
  20. You've got me looking at IS300 SportCross' if I could be sure of the fuel economy, i'd be very tempted http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201311280201394/sort/default/usedcars/make/lexus/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/engine-size-cars/3l_to_3-9l/model/is/postcode/cf833ee/body-type/estate/page/1?logcode=p You'll have to change your username like Ian did. lol.
