  1. Cool, Good to hear your better too. It's been a busy summer!?! Bet you're looking forward to driving the SC after having the Clio for the summer?
  2. At that price, they are definitely a bargain. did you find the insurance much more?
  3. Thanks Stuart! Let depreciation take its toll and when I fancy a new one, you can take it off my hands. Lol. I'll get my balaclava on and make a deposit from a 'not a local bank'.
  4. Yeah, the LS400 MKIV is picking up again. If I get an LS, I'd be looking for a 1990 'H' Reg and have it as a Classic Car. I'm hoping that Zorro will be fine for another 2-3 years, but I've 18,000 miles this yea, since January, already and am now over 140,000 miles on the clock. With servicing and good maintenance, I know this will not be an issue. But if I start planning now, I can put some money aside. Do I go IS250 or GS400? I'd like a newer car when the time comes, so I could be looking at '09/59' plate cars in 2016. Best start looking now. lol.
  5. Rayaans, that RX450h F Sport looks fantastic! I need to earn some better money!
  6. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201311079749294/sort/ageasc/usedcars/radius/1500/postcode/cf833ee/price-to/1000/page/3/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/make/lexus?logcode=p To be honest, i'd probably have more to play around with, but . . . Really? All this for £995? What's wrong with people? why is this car so cheap? I know, I know, 3.0l petrol engines scare people away and it's 15 years old. But still!
  7. Welcome to the LOC Anne. The guys here are brilliant. Hope you get the problem sorted out quickly. Keep us posted.
  8. OO, also, I have a GromAudio kit behind my vents, sometimes, when it's cold it sounds like something rubbing. for me, it's probably that!
  9. Fingers crossed it's sorted quickly with no other hidden issues. Why had you garaged it? I would've thought the weather was good enough for the roof down? (if the question does not require a response, I shaln't be upset if there isn't one) lol.
  10. Hi Eeze. Welcome to the LOC. Great looking IS F you have there. There are often meets' being organised, so keep an eye out. =- )
  11. If Lexus are more expensive, I can't imagine it would be by much. You could spend a couple of days looking round, getting quotes and end up dealing with a company who are difficult to get hold of, or you could deal with Lexus, you'd know where to go, who you are dealing with and would get a decent cuppa and a chat.
  12. It may be worth checking www.blackcircles.com , www.valuetyres.co.uk and www.camskill.com I know Lexus Cardiff beat the prices quoted when I was ready to purchase my HanKook tyres, I attempted to do the same with the winter tyres, but the ones I wanted were no longer in Stock. HanKook had sold out of their UK supply of Winter I*cept EVO tyres . . .
  13. Indeed Noreen. I've also had Zorro serviced twice this year, I never imagined that I would do so many miles!
  14. I had my windscreen fitted by Autoglass earlier this year. a Pilkington screen. Very nice. The Lexus labelled ones are imported, is that right? Even though they are Lexus labelled, they are not Lexus made? I remember Panya having this same conversation. I can certainly understand why you would want all the windows labelled 'Lexus' as it looks slightly odd having one which isn't.
  15. I use Forte Advanced Formula Gas Treatment for cleaning the fuel line and engine, etc. it's £10 a bottle and I have noticed an improvement, careful driving combined, my fuel economy is great. I agree, better fuels are best, not entirely convinced by higher RON for the IS200, when 95 Octane is sufficient, but there are those who swear by it. Fuel prices usually govern what goes in Zorro, but where Esso is a penny or two close to Asda, i'll use Esso. (2p a litre more, will only ever equate TO A MAXIMUM of £1.40 per full tank)
  16. Phoebe and Zorro leaving the hospital and heading home for the first time.
  17. Hi Steve, yeah Michelle suffered from about 3 months onwards. She's 4 weeks today, Phoebe, not my wife. Already we can see how much she's grown. lol.
  18. Not sure on the second thing behind the dashboard, could be aircon needs refilling? I am possibly wrong. The engine turning over. I sometimes get this, though it's probably me. Sometimes when I turn the key, I think the engine has caught (it sounds and feels like the engine has caught) and I let go to realise that it hasn't and it dies, I do it again and it's fine. I use Forte Advanced Formula Gas Treatment to clean the engine and other parts twice yearly (£10 a bottle) and this seems to keep everything clean and working as it should. I use Asda fuel too, that shouldn't be the problem, or at least, not the main problem. I do notice a slight increase in MPG and general performance when using Esso, but not enough to justify the increase in cost. There may be other issues that other members have noticed and will be able to point you in the right direction. Hope this helps, if not. . . . Well. . . . umm. . nice cars, aren't they?
  19. Welcome AJUK77 and chrisyg. These cars are great. Just check that the cambelt has been done. Initially, Lexus said every 100,000 miles, but they revised that to 60,000. I bought mine with 122,000 miles on the clock and I found out it had never had a cambelt change! I booked it in straight away and was lucky. 140,000 on the clock now and still driving like a new car (some squeaks going on, but ill sort that out soon) Welcome to the site.
  20. MOT'd Zorro yesterday. With MOT, Tax and Insurance all due to go out in January, I thought I'd put him in early. Passed with No Advisories. Despite having done 18,000 miles since buying Zorro in January (yes I have been fixing him when things break. . Lol) he passed with no advisories. I'm going to MOT early again next year so that the MOT date will fall on the registration date. A small thing, I know, but it makes me feel happy. Lol.
  21. On Wednesday 23rd October, at 0:06, my wife gave birth to our daughter. Phoebe Helen Aspey was born, weighing in at 7lbs 3oz. 4 weeks in, we're doing well. She's settling quickly after feeds, which is allowing us to get some decent sleep.
  22. Lol. You won last time. You even beat me and I came from a different country!!!!!!!
