  1. Is yours an RX400h? Would you swap for an IS200 estate? Lol. Tax is £280 a year and I'm getting 31.5 MPG.
  2. Maybe we could look into organising one this side? Bristol, Chepstow? somewhere along the boarder?
  3. Zorro, my wife and daughter and I would like to join you all for this meet up. We will head on to Burnley to see some friends afterwards. Yay! Another meet up!
  4. Lol. Acting as Devils Advocate, I would guess, that if there is enough battery, around town should be good, but if the battery is no charged enough or you only do town driving, you need the engine to kick in and this means bad MPG.
  5. I've got a feeling I could only find the shocks on American sites, but the springs were available in Britain. As for 'off the shelf'? Not sure. Are you on Facebook? There is an IS breaker that may have decent IS Sport (Eibach) springs going cheap. I don't have his number to hand. Search groups. Lexus is200.
  6. It's good to see more and more SportCross owners joining the LOC and using the forum. Welcome.
  7. I went to the last one in Cardiff in Jan? Told them on the phone I was not interested in buying for another 2 years or more, and if I did, it'd be a secondhand Lexus. Told them that if they had someone who wanted to go and who was definitely considering buying, to take me off the list. They didn't, I had a great chat, free coffee and sit in the new IS. I think they're getting tired of me . . . I must buy something. . . . a Keyring. That'll buy me about 6 months grace. . . . lol. One day I'll buy new. I saw my Pension forecast . . . Just another 31 years . . . .
  8. It's like reading my post from last January. We had a Corsa . . wanted a larger car with Isofix and an improved fuel economy ahead of the arrival of our daughter . . . came home with an IS200 SportCross. Love it so much. Fuel economy can be good, maybe not in the 300, but you gotta drive it so leisurely, like an LS owner.
  9. Hmmm. . . i'm hoping to upgrade to an RX400h when the time comes to replace Zorro, but with these figures, i'm now not sure. I'd guess the GS would be a bit better as it's probably a little lighter ? . . .
  10. Hi Uxair. The Americans use Tokico HP Series Shocks and Tein S Tech Springs for their IS300's some use Air suspension, but this appears to be the cheap way. around 35 - 40 mm drop all round and about £300 ish . . for a cheap drop, check out some breakers who may have a sport. Eibach Springs on stock suspension, around 30mm drop.
  11. Hi JosephLeslie. You're in Caerphilly too! Forgive me for asking, but what is the GX300? Just googled GX300 and this came up. What's the difference between the GS300 and the GX300?
  12. A number of Lexus owners have used Profess Gas in South Wales. It might be worth your while contacting them.
  13. It is also worth contacting your local Lexus Dealer. Lexus Cardiff beat the purchase and fitting costs of BlackCircles.com and ValueTyres.co.uk
  14. Damietta Quartz. Quite rare indeed. Very nice looking.
  15. 22/08/2008 71484 MOT 08/11/2008 68504 Cam Belt 14/04/2009 75443 Service This looks a little odd too. MOT stations should be accurate. Services can be manually inputted and could be wrong. The cambelt should be accurate . . . I'd argue possibly human error instead of intentionally falsifying.
  16. Umm. The LPG would obviously replace the petrol and would not impact upon the Hybrid side of things. The cost of LPG over petrol is a simple choice to want to change, but at £2000 to have the work done, it may still take 2 years before it becomes cost effective. There should not be a noticeable drop in power, but there will be some. IT WON'T IMPROVE THE MPG, just lower the costs.
  17. PetayV8. All the best for your sojourn to America. Keep in touch and don't forget, PLENTY OF PICS OF MUSCLE CARS!!!! NEW AND OLD!!!
  18. Hi Shekie. Bit late with my reply, but here are the details, encase you ever need to use them in the future. AK Autos Limited japeurocarparts akautosltd@hotmail.co.uk If you search ebay for japeurocarparts this will take you to the seller.
  19. There's a parts supplier on ebay. I got my rear Lower Control Arm bush from as Lexus said they'd only sell the full assembly and would've cost a couple of pounds . . . . and then some . . . . before I post the name, i'll double check with Ian if it's allowed on the main page of the forum.
  20. I've got an S3 too. Grom Bluetooth connected to the head unit (mine is standard. I replaced like for like as the old CD Changer was sticking) all the music on my phone and hands free call answering through the head unit. All thanks to Grom.
  21. Hmm. . . 190 miles . . could be a nice road trip. I shall keep my eye on this thread and then maybe race Chris to Cambridge to see who gets there first.
  22. "Why are you bothering like that? If you wanted a economic car, you shoulda got a deisel" Thank you for your comments. I'll keep this forever!. Lol On British Roads, you have to really work hard to drive like an idiot, or drive these cars around town only. . . . The IS200 is one of few cars that I can drive and beat the official MPG claims. The other was a 1.0l Vauxhall Corsa. 45-50 MPG all day long. Drive conservatively, change gears sensibly and the MPG will come to you. The difference in cost? Over 20,000 miles at 31.6MPG, I've paid £3,750 in petrol. At 20MPG? You could add another £1500 to your fuel cost.
  23. Hi guys. My mechanic has had the car on the ramp 3 times now and says he cannot replicate the forces generated on the road to get the noise. He thinks it is either the shock absorber or the top suspension mounts. Everything else appears secure. Admittedly, this is my car and not yours, but we all seem to have similar sounding problems.
  24. I'm hoping to put Tokico HP Series Shocks and Tein S Tech Springs on later in the year, hoping for a drop of around 35mm all round . .
  25. Hi John. Yeah, it's between 8 & 10 litres. Depending on how you drive, I can get around 50 miles out of it.
