  1. GaryD1975. If they ring back, ask them to contact me too! I'd really like to test the MPG figures on the Base Spec IS300h
  2. Great Pictures. Looks like you guys had a great day! Must try and make the next one, or at least next spring.
  3. ALSO!! Err3 could be a stuck CD. My old unit didn't have a stuck CD, it was kaput . . . I replaced Like for Like and put a CD in and it got stuck, I was able to remove the CD and put it back together and it has been fine. I attached a GROM Bluetooth kit to the unit (Acts like another CD Changer) and I play music through my phone, yet have the option to use the CD, Tape or Radio if I wish.
  4. Well, if I do get them and put them on, I'll make sure I am cautious and monitor what is going on. Cheers Adam. I thought that's what Hubcentric Spacers were.
  5. That's a very obvious thing that I had not thought of. If I do decide to get the spacers and then fit them, I will be cautious and ensure that I monitor them. I plan to use hubcentric spacers that bolt to the hub and then use studs that go all the way through the spacer and hub.
  6. Yes, you are right, but the calculations suggest that the extra strain at standstill is only 2% up from stock, at 20mm. I'm looking at doing this for Zorro. 15mm at the front and 20mm at the rear.
  7. I have been told by my mechanic that I need a new nearside rear lower control arm rose bush. Is this actually what it's called? Does anyone have a part number or a diagram of the rear suspension to point out the bushes. Also. Hello again.
  8. For piece of mind, ask you nearest Lexus dealership how much they would charge for the fitting of the same tyres. Stuart
  9. Dan. That's brilliant. My MPG last week was 34.1. The longer jour eys are surprisingly good on economy if you're good. I've passed 500 twice and come close a couple of times. I stopped on 478.6 miles today, but only put 63.88 litres of fuel in. Enough to have pushed for 500 miles.
  10. Ah, you have a second gen IS. These photos will mean nothing to you. Sorry.
  11. Teejaybee. I totally agree with you. If the insurance companies are recommending certain products, then there must be a reason why they are not recommending others. I'll probably end up getting one of the ones with built in GPS and speed monitoring.
  12. Ah, sorry. I was wondering why you were putting words in my mouth. Sorry for snapping. . . . Yeah, in Britain, a number of people appear to be very conscious about the cost of petrol and will happily change their car assuming it will be more economical. If they factor in the cost of that new car against any reduction in fuel costs, then it may be a number of years before it starts to work out more economical. . . . For instance, if I hqd converted my car to LPG when I first purchased it, the cost of conversion against the reduction in fuel cost (and slight Increase In MPG) would mean that Zorro would be more economical to run as the cost would've been absorbed.
  13. Ummm. I'm not saying that at all? People have a number of reasons for buying more fuel efficient cars. I'm only doing this because I want to see how economical the IS can be and because I want an estate. If LPG is the next step, then sobe it. I can't imagine moving on from Lexus and the car is amazing.
  14. Indeed. I'm hoping Profess Gas Ltd will be able to play host for the South Wales Meet on October 6th and I can ask more then. 2059.98 litres. This is how much petrol I've put in since January 2013.
  15. I had my alignment done with WIM as well, tyre wear is even, but I was down to 5 mm after 10,000 miles. I think some people have said if you want durability, you loose out on wet weather grip. But I bought my tyres because they were B rated for fuel efficiency and B rated for wet weather grip.
  16. PetayV8. When I sorted my mileage out for he insurance, I thought I was doing 14,000 - 16,000 miles a year. But I think this year is going to be different. We've been to Burnley, Scotland and Oxford this year as separate trips, so they'll have messed up my usual average. Gruntfuggly. I think your fuel useage is normal, most people here are heavy footed and like the acceleration. Regular driving, especially on the motorway and dual carriageway, you're getting the right figures.
  17. Good evening all. The MK1 and MK 2 LS400' s. They were '90-'94, is that right? The fuel economy stated by autotrader says that the combined run MPG is 29.3, but MK3 and MK4 run '95-'98 is MPG 23.1. Is this right?
  18. Hi guys. I'm running stock suspension and standard 17" Lexus wheels. I run 38psi at all times. The rideis good and not too harsh, but I've done this for fuel economy testing reasons. Lol. Use it as my daily driver (only car) and my wife thinks the ride is great. As a step up for the previous car (first gen Vauxhall Corsa) Lowering the car should not alter the pressure as the cars' weight is likely to remain the same.
  19. Indeed. Cheers Steve for any further advice you gave Caspa. The bluetooth Grom works great for me. Also, if you have music playing and thephone rings, just press seek > and it answers the phone for you.
  20. I think that converting a car to LPG for economic reasons are always viable. I love the SportCross and would only replace with a newer estate, as Lexus don't do any other estates, LPG would be a consideration. But as I am being quite economical, at present, I don't think spnding £1000+ is the way yet. Though I have already spent £2750 on petrol since January 2013 . . . . . .
  21. LPG does appear to be a cheaper and more efficient way forward. How much did it cost to have the LPG system fitted? As for price. M calculations say I am doing £0.193 per mile, which works out at £1.38 per litre at the way I am driving, based in my last reading of 32.7MPG which is 7.2 miles per litre.
  22. Good morning Luke. The fuel tank on the is200 is 70litres. I've driven the car pretty much to empty, the fuel needle resting on the stopper and I've only been able to squeeze 68litres in, so there are a couple of fail safes to make you think you need to stop and fill up, which is good. If you click on my MPG banner in my signature, it will take you to my Fuelly page and you can see how often I've been able to pass 400 miles from a single tank. Admittedly, I do drive sensibly a lot. My average over 14,000 miles is 31.5MPG and my last three petrol stops have shown my MPG as 32.4MPG, 32.6MPG and 32.7MPG. I'm due to fill up around Wednesday and I'm hoping my MPG to be higher again. I've done 410 miles so far on this tank and I'm still two notches away from the fuel light coming on. Oh, and with my style of driving, I know I can get 50 miles from the car after the fuel light comes on. So if you do end up driving like me, the fuel light does not mean stop immediately. Lol.
  23. Looking at as central a location as possible. Jamie has decided to plan Blackpool. So to get a Scottish Meet arranged, I think I may need some help from someone in Scotland. I was thinking about Stirling? Between Glasgow and Edinburgh, but hopefully not to far for those in he south and north either. I'm thinking of planning for October 6th?
  24. The meeting point is the Fairfield Arms. We'll say from 1ish, but chances are people will be early, people will be late. Some people will want to stay on into the evening for a cruise under Blackpool lights and get some good pics of their cars. October 12th.
