  1. Had a few silver cars and as you say they it’s a great colour for hiding dirt etc. White is not quite as good, but very close and better than any other colour I have had. 👍🏻
  2. Wow that’s bloody poor. Hope raising a complaint with Lexus gets a better result 🤞
  3. You are absolutely right more of a motor sport presence would help the brand a lot. I bought a very nice F polo shirt from the owner of an RCF race car running in the European GT series (at Goodwood FoS), which I hadn’t Even realised was part of that series. They could do with some more higher profile racing which is well covered in the uk. Wouldn’t do them any harm to run an F branded car in the British Touring car series for example.
  4. Congratulations & welcome to the club 👍🏻
  5. @Big Rat it’s a shame that the F brand is not more appreciated, but I’m sure that’s not going to change significantly any time soon. Still as you say it has its advantages for us 👍🏻
  6. It is indeed still a lot of money for such a big hit on the residuals, if that’s the level they are having to discount to get a buyer. Still probably means they will be a good 2nd hand buy in the not to distant future - sounds familiar!!
  7. @Big RatGlad it all went so smoothly. Sounds like a very pleasant few hours wait as well Wow 20k off a new GSF - does that mean they are going to be as rare as the ISFs I wonder?.
  8. Had my 6yr spark plug service in at the end of August. All good other than an advisory on my tyres, which are the originals and are starting to slightly crack - shame because they have only lost 2mm and are evenly worn. Still given their age new it would be sensible to change them around this time anyway. Lexus Woodford surprised me though, gave me a quote for new tyres which was cheaper or virtually the same as the best prices I could find on line. I would have lost money on that being the case!! My air bag recall is booked for 1st week of December (earliest available date). Hope all goes well with your recall work 👍.
  9. 1st RCF I sat in was in that colour combo at Woodford & funnily enough it’s been up for sale with them recently. It was the one I was hoping to get a test drive in while my car was being serviced, but unfortunately someone had put a deposit on it - the cheek 😉
  10. Very nice - reminds me of the red leather Recaros I had in my S4. Red always made it feel like an event when getting into them!
  11. It’s a shame because they build some great cars, but my experience was very similar to yours with reliability issues, huge repair bills & some of the worst dealerships i’ve come across. That said my local Audi dealer was really excellent, which was a good thing given I had the worst bills & issues with both my A4’s.
  12. What a surprise - who’d have thought 😉👍🏻
  13. 51 year old Senior Technician at a Consulting Engineers & Architects practice. To me good design & reliability should go hand in hand - the ISF was the natural choice and a breath of fresh air after running German cars for the previous 15 years. Shame this option wasn’t available sooner!!
  14. Yes although I seem to recall one disappearing during shipping, mentioned on here not so long ago, which was not very encouraging 😢 TBO with H&S on my door step it would be daft not to fit one of their exhausts, which is the plan. Thanks for the invitation Paul - I would really like too, but unfortunately I’m away that weekend. Hopefully I will get the opportunity soon as it would be nice to join you all 👍🏻
  15. I didn’t think the red panel / red leather was an option for uk cars?. Shame because I’m a fan of that combo.
  16. Shame the Joe Z isn’t t more easily available here!! V interesting article, thanks for posting it👍🏻
  17. Same for me, the last time I kept a car this long was my Supra funnily enough. I really do need to drive it more tbo but the 4 seats tends to limit that unfortunately ☹️
  18. Actually now I have the white I love it as much as the blue & with only one previous owner with only 12k on the clock currently I would be made to change it!. Kept an eye on them for about 3 yrs before test driving one at Cheltenham and then another year before my one came up so no intention of changing for another ISF 😉
  19. I have a late 2011 with the large rev counter, revised suspension, DRL’s, LSD, sport button on blue panel steering wheel, full postcode sat nav etc. Also saw similar car registered in 04/2011 and another member confirmed his was an earlier 2011 when this came up previously. 2010 model with Mechanical LSD has blue panel steering wheel with original equally sized rev counter/speedo. There seems to be some overlap probably depending on when they were registered. I was also originally after the blue/ black leather, but they are very rare as pointed out above. Mostly tend to come up with the white leather. Good luck with the search though they are a great car👍🏻
  20. Congratulations Mark & let us know your impressions when you have lived with it a while compared with the ISF 👍🏻 I’m sure the sadness at parting with the IS will probably short lived 😉
  21. Thanks for posting this as never seen it before. Most complete technical run down I’ve seen - brilliant👍🏻
  22. Couldn’t agree more Mark. I would also add that the ISF was quick enough around Silverstone to come second to an M3 & ahead of a C63 who were only separated by less than 2.5 seconds in total if I recall (on around a 2 minute lap) and both the German cars had mechanical LSD’s. The F would probably have been even closer to the M3 had it have been fitted with one at the time . The ISF Ring taxi is also about 30 seconds quicker than an M5 Ring taxi - to me that’s a seriously quick car by any standards & how much more can you actually ever use anyway!! I went back to MB World recently & spent an hour in a 600hp CLS AMG which is a mighty impressive car but the difference is marginal I suspect in most situation. I’m perfectly happy with the F which has more than enough for me. Still each to his own👍🏻
  23. Definitely worth it & added relatively little to the premium👍🏻
  24. I originally had the car insured with Lexus insurance, mainly because they were one of the few to not require a tracker at the time and so there would be no quibling over Lexus doing any repairs. I had also been provide with a 3 year gap insurance when I bought the car as part of the deal. As mentioned above re the pitifull insurance value payed on a stolen ISF, I tried to extend my gap insurance when it finshed earlier this year, which apparently you can't do unless its within 6 months of the cars purchase. So as a result I am now also with Adrian Flux, who were cheaper even with an agreed valuation policy. I would give GAP or an a agreed valuation policy serious consideration, because you certainly won't be able to replace the car with the payout from a standard policy.
