  1. Congratulations!! I’m sure you will love the car & at least it provided a good bargaining position with the dealer after all the do I / don’t I . Enjoy your 1st drive home 👍🏻
  2. Thanks Paul, I’ll be there on the Sunday👍🏻 Need to get myself a ride in that LC 😂😉
  3. Great idea & thanks for suggesting it 👍🏻, Unfortunately already have plans ☹️
  4. Was with Adrian Flux until my renewal came through at about £1100 (with an agreed value). Haven’t paid that for insurance since I was a teenager!! Then on cancellation matched LV - should have been more competitive in the 1st place if they could reduce the premium by that much!! Now have 5 year gap insurance with ALA (PistonHeads) using PISTON12 promo code was £373. Got multicar policy with LV for both our cars - RCF being £402.
  5. “Thanks a for persevering” - not sure why I have gone all Italian 😉
  6. Travelling for an F seems to be the norm, with so few of them, unless you are lucky 😉. Bought ISF from Lexus Leeds & travelled up from Essex by train & drove it back. It was such low mileage example I had already put a refundable deposit on the car, which I haven’t ever done before. So I was pretty sure I was buying it having watched the market for such a long time before hand for the right car. Bought RCF from Lexus Swindon, so couple of trips from Essex to view then pick up.
  7. Thanks a for persevering mate it’s much appreciated. 👍🏻
  8. Welcome to the club & glad you are pleased - they are a brilliant car. Also like to echo the above as there are so few of these cars it’s good to know it’s now with someone who will look after it. 👍🏻 Fun times ahead 😉
  9. My 11 plate had black surround to nav, silver was on the earlier car before the LSD was fitted in 2010 - as others have said you can tell this model by the blue panel in the bottom of the steering wheel, but it still has equal size speedo/Rev counter. Model changed again in 2011 to inc suspension changes, larger Rev counter, sport button on steering wheel (still with blue panel) & LED DRL’s. As others have said I would buy on condition/history & if the mileage is reflected in the price you will have a very reliable performance bargain 👍🏻 Best of luck with the search.
  10. I have always used the hand brake when the car is parked & depending on the length of the wait, I will also use it while driving at level crossings etc. I was also told by someone at Lexus Leeds (who also raced) that it was a good idea after spirited driving to help heat dissipate more evenly from the brakes - not sure I will ever drive my car that hard that this would be an issue, but might be more relevant for others 😉
  11. Actually forget the steak 🥩 Bananas & custard please!! 👍🏻
  12. Various previous car instruction manuals have suggested putting the box in neutral when stopped at lights in case of a rear end shunt to protect the box from being damaged & especially not to use park for the same reason. Seems sensible approach so have stuck with it.
  13. Yes a very nice pair .......prossibly on YouTube by now for frightening the locals 😉😁
  14. Thanks Paul I think I will get my son on it
  15. Not like my purchase of the RCF then 😆😉 i know what you mean mate - I watched the marked for 3 years with the ISF, having decided to buy a car with 5 seats In the mean time, then waited a further year for the right car. it will be worth the wait👍🏻
  16. Apologies video clip didn’t work - not sure why at the mo?
  17. So the exhaust was installed yesterday - Wow it’s bloody epic!!. Mellow at low revs but always audible and just builds with the revs yet is quiet at 70mph until you prod the accelerator. It is loader at start up, but as others have suggested drops immediately it’s put in gear. Was shadowed by C63 coupe black edition (with all the aero kit) on my way home & we ended up passing each other at various points - the QS sound masked the AMG’s exhaust completely. Its so nice to be changing gear again based purely on the engine sound. The induction sound at 3.5k is now barely audible in the linear increase in sound as the revs rise. For me it has made the RCF a very special car indeed. I keep finding excuses to go for a drive & then can’t stop smiling - boys & toys!! I would like to thank Lexus Cheltenham, especially Tim, Alex & Paul who we watched install the exhaust. It was a real eye opener seeing how a dealership can be run by a bunch of great guys who are all petrol heads/enthusiasts & it will now be my first port of call for any advice etc. And of course a massive thank you to Paul @Big Rat for going to so much trouble on my behalf (organising everything) & for also introducing me to the delights of the AV8 cafe at Kemble - of course cake was provided 😉😆 It was a great day!!. I have attached a short video 🤞& apologise for the expletives E85E9BDB-6935-4722-91FF-A6848A967804.MOV
  18. Hi Matt, Glad you had fun mate. I felt a similar way when I drove the RCF - it was clear that everything had moved on & the interiors of both RCF/GSF are a lovely place to be 👍🏻 Go on mate you know you want too!! 😂😉
  19. I’m over 6ft & had plenty of head room in the back of the RCF when I tested it with the drivers seat set for me. My sons catching me in terms of height & he also fits fine. The padded triangular shape to the back of the front seats helps a lot I’m sure, but can get whole family in comfortably - which I have to say was a bit of a surprise & a relief 😆 TBO I was surprised how much tear space there is in the RCF, especially when I think back to my Supra!
  20. Very nice - not seen one in that colour combo before.
  21. Akrapovic have had their exhausts fitted as standard by some manufacturers. Off on a bit of a tangent - my experience of after market wheels was that they were generally far higher quality than those the same wheel manufacturer might supply to car manufacturers. Similarly I don’t see why a specialist exhaust manufacturer couldn’t develope a better tuned & optimised exhaust (at a cost).😉
  22. Exactly, like most exhaust systems - I was just making the point that they are genuine carbon fibre tips from a cost perspective and not made to look like carbon fibre. I’m sure the H&S system will be better value & handy with them so close by. You were very happy with the H&S on your ISF, so no reason to think the RCF will be any different. Do they do valved systems?
