  1. Really? not much use if you have done a big shop.
  2. Has anybody any idea what this is?......... besides being some sort of clip. Has it a specific purpose? its in the boot on the rear wall. There is nothing, I can find in the car, that attaches to it.
  3. Literally takes an hour to clean things up, its because the people doing it are incompetent and stand around with a finger up their backside. Doesnt help that communication sucks when these things happen. The time at the scene of an accident/collision takes time due to the need to investigate the matter, render first aid et al.
  4. Why do people think that in Germany you can drive at any speed on any road, its a complete fallacy. The "rural roads" that don"t have a signed speed limit have an expectation that you will drive within the capabilities of your vehicle, your experience, the road conditions.......common sense et al.
  5. But the law advises you against doing 100 mph, the law makers do not just come up with an arbitrary number for speed limits, a little thought and research goes into it. I have said this many times, but don't mind saying it again, its worth repeating. Its not the car doing 100 mph that is the problem, its the ***** behind the wheel doing 100 mph and the poor unfortunate motorists that gets in the way of this ***** doing 100 mph.
  6. The law you refer to, the Road Traffic Act 1988, amended in 2014, and in force since September relates to new sentencing guidelines for speeding drivers.Part of the legislation gives guidance to magistrates to consider prison sentences in instances of drivers exceeding 100 mph in all circumstances, excepting certain mitigating circumstances. Tell your friend to take a taxi to court, his licence for shredding and a tooth brush. Your thread title mentions 109 mph, but in your thread you mention 107 mph, which is it?
  7. I've used carmats4u.com in the past for most of my cars, they do budget mats and luxury mats with everything in-between.
  8. What do you mean by "don't seem that reliable"? Changing the oil is no different to any othe car, drain oil, remove filter, blah, blah, blah. What bits can we help you with?
  9. A quick search on this site reveals this..... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/75371-folding-mirrors/
  10. Mine is auto so cannot be specific on the model, but.....on gear sticks on cars I have had in the past there is no adhesive, it's just a snug fit.
  11. Is that a press stud next to your question mark? What happens when you unfasten it?
  12. I fit one to my previous car, I wired it into the rear view mirror electrics. The wire showing was about 3 inch long with a mini USB connecting the camera. It was all hidden by the rear view mirror. Neat job if I say so myself. It needs installing in the Lexus.
  13. Done an oil and filter change on the car today, easy enough. As I took off the oil filter cover, held on by 3 x 10mm screws, I noticed a fair amount of oxidised aluminium powder on the tray. This will obviously be all over the cars under tray, is this normal? I'm not overly concerned, its just I have never had a car before that is so extensivly covered in engine covers, I presume the mess has to gather some where.
  14. We have just, in the past year, gone to petrol from two large diesel cars. I loved the MPG, but the bloody EGR, MAP, MAF, DPF, etc etc etc are a bloody nuisance. I am mechanically minded and can clean, replace, repair most things on my car but I would not go back to a diesel, and certainly don't like the way the witch hunt club is forming regarding diesels and their polluting issues. Doh, as if this is news to us.
  15. Bargains to be had at autovaux, I have always bough my oil from them for all the families cars. http://www.autovaux.co.uk/product/93165557-synthetic-oil-engine-5w30-dexos2-opel.aspx
  16. What to have for breakfast?

  17. Halfords, I would not trust Halfords to empty my ash tray, oh, I don't smoke. I had four wheel alignment done by them on my alfa some years ago and I had to wrestled to keep it out of the gutter. And the excuse when I took it back, pfft. If I do need to take mine to a well trusted independant I think I would remove the covers myself.
