  1. Follow him until he stops, put on a ski mask, grab an aluminium bbb (they don’t break) knock seven bells out of his bike, making sure you hit every panel and accessory. Thats Karma.....:)
  2. Haven’t heard the sawdust tale for a while, Arfur. . My car ownership is always long term. What I will do is try the oil change, see how that goes, then look into the internal’s of the diff’, I haven’t had one apart since the ‘70s. Thanks for your input.
  3. Right, my next question is: If the change of oil does not quieten the diff, what are the collectives view on using an additive?
  4. Just because the oil in the photo looks dark it doesn’t mean it’s not doing it’s job. I wouldn’t imagine your pristine new oil would stay that nice cherry red for more than a minute inside the box, even with a full flush.
  5. Just got the OK from Opie Oils, the oil I purchased is a replacement for the Lexus/Toyota stuff. But they had to draw a blank on what LT means.
  6. Yep, got that, sorry I didn’t notice the link, thanks. According to the manual I have to get under the car, the diff should be labelled as to whether it’s an LSD or not. I would expect a non LSD.
  7. The man at Opie thinks LT stands for Lifetime, but he’s doing a bit more research.
  8. I’ve sent an enquiry to Opie Ools regarding the letters.
  9. I believe it refers to Lexus/Toyota. Does anyone know different?
  10. Here’s the link. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-982-fuchs-titan-sintopoid-fe-sae-75w-85-fully-synthetic-gear-oil.aspx
  11. It’s got all the same numbers and letters, 75W-85. GL-5 is mentioned in the specifications section. It’s going in the diff as soon as I’ve finished decorating.
  12. Found some at Opie oils, it helps if you miss off the first two letters of the code, the L and the T. £30 for 2 litres, including postage.
  13. I'll pass on that as well.......
  14. £43, and I’d need two. Thanks Nemesis, I’d already found the expensive ones, I was looking for something more reasonably priced.
  15. Cheers Dave, I’ve looked at the Redline products, not cheap.
  16. Car passed its MOT the other day, the mechanic notice a noise in the differential when he spun the rear wheels, it’s something I’ve noticed but never done anything about. A change of oil is called for as a starting point. Where do you get LT 75W-85 GL-5 oil from? Halfords stock something similar which is reasonably priced but I can’t find any that meets the exact specifications.
  17. Yes I know it does that when the key’s out of range, but when the car will not start, due to “key not detected” a message comes up telling you to hold the key to the stop/start button.
  18. Doesn’t a message come up on the dash (when key not detected) telling you to hold the key next to the stop/start button, unless I’m dreaming.
  19. As mentioned earlier, I got fuel, valet, coffee, biscuits, pastries, loan car and a newspaper when I had airbag done.
  20. I was grateful for the valet of the car, and the fuel but they've phoned me about four times since I've had it done, really getting to be a nuisance.
  21. Yep........ And advised me to top up the fuel used in the courtesy car.....that didn't happen. :)
