  1. I forget to take the brake off quite often, that cleans the shoes and drum.
  2. I've done the exact same thing. I wouldn't think a few turns of the wheel would hurt anything. I've never looked into why auto cars have to be lifted instead of towed. Circulation of fluid at a guess. ???? edit: RAC report auto cars can be towed for less than 10 miles, off the motorway, As I mentioned it's the gearbox fluid that'sobviously not circulating.

  4. I take it you mean the pump icon with the pipe on the left means the filler is on the left. I don't believe this is true, in fact I've just checked on my IS 250. The pump icon shows the pipe on the right, but an arrows points to the left, where the filler cap is.
  5. It was the style plates that were the issue, some years ago, they seem to have died out. In extreme circumstances if your plate does not meet legal specs, i.e. Spacing, style, coloured screw caps altering numbers or letters, or mini plates, you can be reported to DVLA and your plate replaced by a "Q" plate. I've known a few cocky motorists, with appalling style plates, receive letters from DVLA. They thought the likelihood of their precious costly plates being confiscated was untrue.
  6. @rayaans Something I meant to ask the other day: Why the thread title "A Gracious Goodbye" when you've bought another Lexus. Was it attention seeking? Do you need to see a professional for that, my son's a psychologist, I can highly recommend him.
  7. Well that was a bit of an anticlimax, Happy motoring, love the interior and glass roof.
  8. It looks nice, the car that is, the presenter is a bit frightening to look at.
  9. Wouldn't it be best just to check and clean regularly?
  10. Is there new technology in your possession that may be interfering with your fob?
  11. You may be right, but I find it best to start with the easy and cheap option first before jumping to other conclusions. :)
  12. You'll get as many people argue WD40 kills rubber components on cars as you would saying it's harmless, I'm not aware of anything on a car that's made of rubber, and there are many more contaminants on the road attacking your car. I spray it on everything that stands still long enough. For squeaky bushes silicone spray is best but replacing the bush would be a better solution.
  13. cheaper to buy a stand alone sat nav
  14. From following threads I believe quite a number work on their own car. They're not that much different to other cars I've worked on. Try changing oil, oil filter etc on an Alfa 159, what a ball ache of a job.
