  1. Just beat me to it. ;) Its easy to check, the flap/cover should go up and down when you toggle the circulation button. There is a DIY fix for it I believe on the USA forum.
  2. If you want to keep up the Lexus stamps in the service book you're going to have to pay Lexus dealer prices, it's as simple as that. A discussion about Lexus dealer hourly rates recently on here put them at £150 and hour. Another poster received a quote for new pads and discs on all four corners, £1700. Wake up my friend and smell the roses. If the car is nine years old as Steve suggests why would you want Lexus dealer stamps? I can't imagine it would add much to the resale value if you take into consideration the money you would pay for for the stamps.
  3. None of them get my hard earned for such a simple job.
  4. I'll have a look at those later, my sort of late night viewing.
  5. I've stood at the car wandering why it wouldn't lock quite a few times as it kept bleeping at me. Got back in the car, checked everything, lights, brake on, and noticed after a while the engine was still running. Amuses the wife.....
  6. Get some antibacterial spray from the supermarket, own brand is fine, about a quid. Start car, put aircon into outside circulation, coldest setting. Close all doors and windows. Spray into outside vents at bottom of windscreen where the pollen filter is, spreading it all over the vent so it gets into the trunking. Do about twenty squirts and leave it for a minute. You should see it being drawn in. Check the car remains on outside circulation. I use about 100 mls but if the smell is stubborn do it again the next day. You should smell the delightful fragrance in the car. Did mine the other day, I do it every few months.
  7. Kwik s**t. Take the car back. Our local Kwik Fit is on a dual carriageway, even if I need to be in the near side lane I steer into the outside lane to avoid any contamination. Apart from being of no help whatsoever, I amused myself.
  8. My Lexus isn't a hybrid and the brakes groan. Only because I make them. I think it's quite understandable as mentioned above. The car is trying to move forward and you're not fully on the brake. Friction causes heat and noise.
  9. 57% off at ECP. They show Brembos in stock. £70 for a pair of front discs.
  10. I noticed my front discs were glazed and mottled when I did my pins the other month. Never noticed it on my other cars.
  11. Britprius is correct, I've come across this in my old job. People lock their car and leave the key in range, even though the key is in the house, it's easy for a thief to steal the car because the car and key are still talking to each other draining juice. http://www.autoserviceprofessional.com/article/94711/Today-s-key-fobs-smart-keys-Technological-advances-provide-convenience-and-cause-problems?Page=2
  12. Cable ties....my son in laws Vectra estate was held together with them. Who ever worked on it was a ham fisted tw@ who broke every fastener on the car and replaced them with plastic tie wraps. Cowboys.
  13. It's normal in most automatic cars I've driven, I like the noise, it amuses me and annoys the wife.
  14. Whatever amount you drain, put the same amount back in. If there's no drain plug, there is on mine, loosen a bottom hose.
  15. The information on the car does not, as far as I recall, come under the DP Act. The act is about the disclosure of personal information of a living person, not an inanimate object. They may refuse to give you the information because it's theirs and they don't wish to share it, or company policy states they don't give out that sort of information over the phone. They may give you the information if you turn up in the car. Lexus Bradford gave me details over the phone, and then tried to sell me a service and warranty.
  16. Did mine on all four corners last month, the small rubber bushes on the front calliper pins would not go back in the holes, so I left them off Bought two new sets of pins and bushes ready for doing Monday. Had no issue with the bushes omitted.
