  1. Get an airline at the garage and direct it around the pads to get most of the pad dust away. A build up of dust can cause squeaking in the bedding in process. It is usually because of cheap pads but obviously this is not the case with you. Try the airline first if it doesn't cure it then take the car back again. It really does drive you nuts!!!

  9. Just entered a value of up to 3K on Auto Trader and 66 LS400 cars came up some 96year model with less than 90K miles. Worth a browse. Try for private sellers other than trade. Service history and plenty of receipts are a must.

  12. If you have to remove the whole unit then you will need to remove the door panel from inside. Disconnect your electrics from the switch panel on the arm rest(door) They are on plugs. Don't forget your puddle light at the bottom. Once the panel is removed you will get to the mirror bolts. The fixings holding the door panel on are turn and release, they are not threaded. All the bolts holding the armrest and door lock are behind plastic covers so be careful taking them off or you will not get them back on. DONT use a sharp screwdriver. Sounds like a lot of work but once you get started it's easy. Putting it back on is a lot quicker. If it is just the glass why do you have to remove the full unit? Is the unit behind the glass damaged? If the glass is smashed then surely you just glue the new glass to the original position?
  13. Sounds like a fuse. There are two fuse boxes, interior drivers side and engine bay. Your manual should give you all the correct fuse placings and numbers. I have a manual but I would imagine that yours being a newer model they will be different so I don't want you to go off the numbers I have in case they are wrong. You can telephone your dealer (parts Dept.) and ask him for the fuse location and No. Once you tell him the symptoms. Not much help but hope you get it sorted. Terry

  15. My brother-in-law buys from the auction and sells 'em on private and he and a few mates of his who are in the trade will not touch "prestige" cars at the moment unless they are WELL below the guide. They cannot shift them on. And cars sat on forecourts lose money. Cheap Mercs Lex and BMWs are plentiful and unless he already has a buyer looking for that type of motor he won't bid on them. That is why "Trade in values" are low. They don't want them stood around. It really is a buyers market at the moment. My sister runs a nice BMW 'cos she got it so cheap, low mileage and FSH It's cheaper to run it than sell it at the moment. This year will see a glut of used "Prestige" or heavy MPG cars on the market. With Road Tax and fuel prices +Morgage rates and house prices falling, people have to save money and getting rid of high MPG cars is a first option. I have had my RX for over 4 years and I have NEVER owned a car that long. I would usually have been in something else by now. but I reckon that by keeping it another year it will not affect my selling price next year. One thing for sure is that I will be buying from auction. FSH and warranties on a lot of what goes through there. It's not like the old days when you"Pay's your money and take's your chance"
