  1. Thanks for your efforts Paul. Possibly works out around a 5% saving, bigger would have been better, but £60 is far better than nothing! I assume fitting is not included in the online prices? In which case, are people fitting themselves? Think that's the route I'd take. 250 mile round trip for me. Much cheaper to get it posted than pay for fuel .
  2. Interesting. First time I've heard about any "lag" issues. Has anyone experienced this over here in the UK? Looks like an old (2016) problem for which they issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) to fix with a re-flash.
  3. Yes. Fit my 2011 fine. There is no change that I am aware of to the throttle in any IS-F. Which is where the device fits.
  4. Paul and Paul, I've already asked about this. I too am quite happy with the "fake" tips. Ian said they could supply the system without tips and reduce the cost accordingly.
  5. Looks like they just custom make adapters, there are plenty of UK companies that will do the same. It's just a case of understanding all the specific measurements and finding the best supplier.
  6. Found where you were referencing the audi solution Sean. This post references the following forum post: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-f-2015-present/764289-compact-spare-tire-2.html#post9332627 @Ostragobulus Do you have the drawings for the spacer you had made?
  7. @Big Rat @Comedian Did you make any progress on this. I'm doing a Euro trip with an RC-F soon and they would like to take a space saver with them. Rather than rely on the can of goo. Possibly something more of interest to you now as well Paul, considering the recent change to RCF .
  8. Power loss is due to a particulate filter, similar to a DPF i guess. I hear the next generation of engines will be a 4.0 twin turbo...
  9. Lexus Coventry are aware of the issue. They are ording in parts upon request. They say a component within the assembly is causing wear to the outer casing. Or something along those lines.
  10. Are they sending letters out about this? Or just relying on people calling up.
  11. That's a beautiful knob. (Stop laughing at the back). Very expensive too, with all the custom work you had done. Makes it a shame we've not got a manual box.
  12. @Big Rat Put my name down for this please. I have been in touch with Ian myself in January. Held off due to price, so a discount might very well tempt me to get one! Depending on what can be negotiated of course.
  13. I urge you to use it as much as you can. Mine (like many on here) is my only car and I use it everyday without issue. Wouldn't have bought it if I couldn't. I'm only 30 too and have no problems with image. Most people just think it's a hybrid IS. I am of course careful on where it is parked, but I don't let that stop me using it. It does all the normal stuff like B&Q and supermarket runs.
  14. Lovely! I watched this recently. Doug DeMuro's videos are great, he chats about all the little details you'd only ever find out about if you owned the cars. Worth checking out some of his other stuff if you like this too.
  15. I think it was an option on our generation of the IS. But comes as standard on many models now.
  16. Normal key fob in back pocket? Yeah of course. Credit card one? Well, before hearing about this, I'd like to think Lexus would have made it flexible to withstand the rigors of daily use. Sounds like they're rigid so I'm not sure now... I mean I've snapped normal plastic cards in my front pocket getting into a car . I don't know if this particular key card has ever been sat on. Arqum says he knows one that has been damaged that way. So its possible. All I know is that it's stored in a wallet. The crack has appeared in the casing. From what I was shown it looks like it's fatigued, not shattered with a one off event.
  17. Makes sense not to sit on a phone, but not so sure about something purposely credit card sized and designed to go in purses and wallets...
  18. Anyone experienced problems with their smart card key? The credit card sized one. Someone in my family has had one for only 10 months and it's developed a crack through it! Been kept in a wallet and not abused or anything. Just wondering if it's a known design fault or manufacturing issue. Would expect something like that to last for many many years, as a normal key fob would. Doesn't sound like Lexus quality at all!
  19. Mine always squeak, sometimes worse than others. Depends if I've done much hard stopping. 99% of the time i'm barely touching the brakes. I think it polishes them up and makes them squeak more. OEM discs and pads. Could try taking the pads out and putting copper grease on the backs. Should help damp vibrations, but probably wouldn't do much in reality.
  20. I've been with Adrian Flux 1 and a bit years (just renewed). I was 29 when I took out my first policy, in an average area for crime, etc. They had no problem beating all other insurers by some margin, and didn't require a tracker. I've found the customer service to be some of the best I've experienced. Very friendly and helpful. They are a broker at the end of the day, so can only offer policies available at the time. My premium went up by around £100 this year due to this. It might be worth calling again in a week or two in case what they can offer has changed. But can't blame you not wanting to if you've been treated poorly. Maybe the Adrian Flux representative will be along to address these issues.
  21. Congrats on the purchase. Looking forward to some photos when you get it home. Sounds like Lexus treated you well despite issues, good on them.
  22. I'll be coming to this for sure. Coventry is obviously ideal for me, but will travel if that doesn't work out.
  23. Where do you stand on refunds with things like that? Surely they must re-fund you. Broken resin is fixable, but sounds like you have de-lamination in the center. Might be curable, but probably not worth it as you say...
  24. Thanks, looks good value! Did you paint yours? I reckon that would suit a nice wrap. Regarding the gap, you should be able to adjust (turn) the rubber stops under the bonnet. But I have never touched them on the Lexus before.
  25. @paul99 Where did you order the lip from? Does look good. I don't want to criticise, but may I say your bonnet doesn't look like it's sitting correctly? Looks as if there is a large gap to headlight/bumper on the right in your photos, but a really tight gap on the left. This should be really easy to fix as the gaps are adjustable. If you don't know how, maybe get Lexus to do it next time it's in for a service.
