  1. Excellent! Can't wait to have a drive of one myself.
  2. Thanks. Not much difference then. Do things ever come and the duty gets missed off?
  3. America. Only place I've seen it for sale.
  4. Just been looking at the prices of the Takeda system. Found somewhere I can get it delivered for under £300... but this doesnt include tax/duty. The ones off ebay are more like £370 but eBay appears to sort the tax/duty for you. Do I take a gamble on the £300 one, or just go eBay. Not sure how tax/duty is paid. Been a long time since I imported anything.
  5. Hi Marcus, did you figure out if shipping back was an option?
  6. Please keep us updated with your progress. Would love to know what tuning software they use, before / after power curves (dyno runs), etc. Wonder if this is the first IS-F they have done?
  7. Sounds pretty cheap to me. If real, those gains are good for an NA engine. Normally need headers and a less restrictive exhaust to get that sort of increase. Been interested in a Takeda intake myself. To release a little more sound. I am concerned about the power loss myself, however there is too much controversy on the US forum to get a true answer. My best guess is there is no real gain or loss and people are just arguing over variation in dyno results given by conditions on the day. Any idea where to order a Takeda system from? K&N is more easily sourced, but doesn't retain any of the original air box, and as such is more open to heat soak.
  8. They have to list vast majority of bulbs for "off road use only" or not road legal. It's just because you're replacing incandescent with LED. It's not a like for like replacement. That's how I understand it anyway. Nothing to worry about. Not going to fail an MOT, or cause you to be stopped by the police!
  9. No errors on dash when I backed out the garage. Will let you know if any come up tomorrow.
  10. Got fed up of the yellow, dull side lights so fitted a pair of Philips Xtreme Vision LEDs (W5W 501). Got them here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111887498917?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They match the headlights really well (6000K colour). Should make me a bit more visible with just side lights on, without the need for dipped beam. Five minute job doing the passenger side. Driver's side was a bit more of a pain, had to un-bolt the airbox and shift it out the way to open the back of the headlamp up.
  11. Really considered changing those bushes, might look again. Were coming back a touch expensive from the states when i looked last. Had a drive in one of those GS450H Sports. They're so boring in comparison to the F! Steering is light as a feather and has little feel. Engine sounds flat and although it pulls OK for a big car. It was just OK, not inspiring at all. The seats were terrible and the brakes had no feel. This is all subjective however, I'm bound to be biased towards the F :)
  12. Marcus, did your old exhaust fit in the boot? I'd want to hold on to the original.
  13. Getting one delivered would be my preferred option too. Maybe Cobra would be willing to do that? Sheffield is only 1.5 hours away for me, so would be willing to drive. But I'd want to take the car home same day. Local fabricators are an option, but it's finding somewhere I trust. Think I'd have to go on recommendation and see examples of their work first.
  14. Any idea on price and options. Maybe we should get together for a group buy!
  15. Had a drive of my dad's new RC-F the other day. A lot more different to the IS-F than I was expecting. Everything has been turned up a notch. Quicker and better throttle response, better gearbox, better intake sound and lovely steering feel, far sharper on turn in. I was surprised how light the car felt. The seats are awesome too! Made the IS feel a little old!
  16. Do Cobra fabricate it to fit? I've had a cobra exhaust on my previous car, felt it was really good value for money. But that was an off the shelf product.
  17. Welcome! Sport mode and manual transforms the car. Wait to you try the downshifts! I have those wheels too. Love them.
  18. I think that problem is country wide. Neighbor had his S7 stolen from the drive the other week. I promptly updated security.
  19. Was this for a minor service Tom? Need to get my major booked in with them. I was expecting a call back a few weeks ago I need to chase up. Car is 6 years old, so technically due it's 60K service. As it's only done 21,000 miles, I don't really want to pay extra to have the plugs, etc, changed. What are peoples views on this?
  20. Let them do a few before taking it in. Don't be in a rush. I'm worried about the rattles too!
  21. I often get squeaky brakes on mine. It's on original pads, with loads of material left. Only at lower speeds with light brake pressure though. It's definitely a squeak, not squeal. A little irritating, but something to be expected IMHO with high performance brakes. Like others have said, some enthusiastic driving should help clean them up. Failing that, removing pads and applying some copper grease could help to deaden any vibrations.
  22. Dad has had 2 ISF's from new. I wanted one since driving his first back in 2008. Only being 21 at the time. He just took delivery of his RCF, so was able to buy his second one off him at the start of this year, now that insurance and the like is actually affordable. He got it because of the exclusivity, subtle styling and lack of "image" German competitor cars have. He liked it could blend in, rather than be all loud and shouty. I agree wholeheartedly. We keep going back to Lexus because on the whole, service is excellent, reliability is good and they are willing to do a deal if you get the timing right.
  23. Considered getting the GROM Vline. Anyone else got one?
  24. Looks absolutely stunning! Good memory Mr. Rat. Always used a clay bar before, but the mitt was much easier to use! I'd say it took 1/5 of the time to clay the car compared with a bar. Didn't use a quick detailer (although you can), just a bucket of extra soapy car shampoo. Making sure it's had a really good wash beforehand. Clay bar still has its place, i think it would be more effective at removing heavier contaminants, and for getting in tighter areas. This is the exact mitt and seller i purchased from: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Farecla-7191-G3-Pro-Body-Prep-Clay-Mitt-/282383043969? Can be used multiple times, and if you drop it just wash it off. very frustrating having to throw a clay bar away because you've dropped it after 5 mins! I can vouch for Poorboys Black Hole glaze too. Good stuff.
