  1. Hi Craig, Good to hear from you and thanks for the update. Glad to hear that it is (mostly) behaving itself. I seem to recall that someone on here had a similar fault but I can't remember the resolution. Hopefully nothing too bad. Looking forward to see the pictures! Thanks.
  2. As someone who heard the thunk when the branch landed on your car, I am glad there was no lasting damage. Lucky, as you say 🙂
  3. Welcome Steve, The service manual shows it as such: Hope this helps.
  4. Welcome! 🙂 Nice looking motor you have there. Always did like the Forester for its blend of practically and performance. Any particular reason for the change, so is it just time? Good choice with the IS F either way 🙂
  5. Another local? Hampshire seems to attract quite a few F owners 🙂 All the more reason for additional meets in the local area (and nothing of course to do with it being local to me as well 🙂).
  6. There could be other factors, like you say, which might be the reasoning behind the sale. Given the current state of energy bills and my new mortgage deal, I can certainly sympathise if it is the case! Having said that, the problem, in my opinion, is that the 300h (IS or RC) is a much better car for everyday driving, so why go for the niche product when the 300h is so readily available? From the couple of days I had a IS200t, I can say that I don't think it would grow on me either. So, for people that do buy them, either there is something about the 200t that they prefer or they find a deal on a car that they like that is too good to ignore. Either way, shame really as the 200t could have been a fun alternative to the hybrid models.
  7. I can attest to this first hand! Just make sure you brace your neck for the brutal kick as it hits full acceleration 🙂
  8. You are too quick Colin 🙂
  9. Nope: https://media.lexus.co.uk/lexus-brings-black-inspiration-to-the-lc-flagship-coupe/
  10. Well, the Zappi will supplement the solar power with charge from the grid, so the car will always be able to utilise the max available from your panels, which I would hope would be enough, even in winter. Can I ask what battery you have ordered? It seems nigh on impossible to get your hands on one at the moment. Also, since I don't have a smart meter, I won't be able to sell any excess back to the grid, not that it would be worth it anyway, as you say.
  11. Paint Protection Film. Basically, it is a plastic sheet that is applied on top of the bodywork to protect the paint from damage e.g. stone chips, light scratches, etc... https://www.3m.co.uk/3M/en_GB/car-wrapping-uk/paint-protection/
  12. I certainly like the location (was near my house 🙂) and the owner of the Departure Lounge was more than happy to have us back should we decide to return. I also want to have a look and see if that aircraft fuselage has anything in it 🙂
  13. Hopefully you will hear something soon. Yeah, we are going for the Zappi: https://myenergi.com/zappi-ev-charger/ We are trying to find someone who can install some solar panels at the moment (as you can imagine, somewhat difficult!), so the option for Zappi to use that as an energy source is a good bonus.
  14. Thanks @Rob RCF for the photos. Not as good, but I did manage to snap a few: Managed to sneak an imposter in between 2 of the RC F's briefly 🙂:
  15. Hi Robert, Literally day before yesterday got a call from the dealer that it is now in build. He said it is currently expected to arrive at the dealership the week of the 21st Nov. Slightly later than planned but at least it is moving in the right direction. What's the word on yours?
  16. Was great meeting everyone! Some nice cars as well 🙂 I did suggest to Rob that he uploads his photos onto a new thread in case others wanted to see and didn't want to trawl through pages to find them, so perhaps we should collate them all in one place for ease of finding?
  17. David, I think it is safe to say that if someone objected to you coming along then it would be them that wouldn't be welcome 🙂
  18. Is Sue still on reception? 🙂 I have actually had dealings with all 3 Jemca dealers: Used to live in London, so Edgware Road looked after my IS220d - Bought my GS450h from Sidcup - and had all the work on the GS done at Reading. All have been great, so no complaints about the Jemca group from me.
  19. Nice write up Phil 👍 Reading what you have written makes me miss mine even more as your experience sounds very similar to what I had. Also, the dealer wouldn't by any chance be Lexus Reading, would it? I only ask as I had impeccable service during my time and I would do the same i.e. tyres, MOT, etc.. all with them. It also rightly highlights the reliability and after sales you get. Fairly certain most places would not agree to swap 80k mile wheel bearings under warranty, never mind change the other side as a precaution!
  20. I'm beginning to think that more people are going to be turning up to this than I first thought. I was expecting a rather small gathering..
  21. My car is filthy and is going to stay that way as I have just got in from a long day at work! 🙂
  22. This is simply not true, at least for the Mk4 GS that I had. The regen braking was certainly not strong enough to slow me down effectively when, like Colin said, coming off dual carriageways. Entering the slip road at a perfectly reasonable 50mph would definitely require me to use to brakes quite a bit before reaching the junction/roundabout on the exit. Perhaps it depends on the roads you drive on, but around here, using the brakes is not optional.
