  1. Really? Petrol is still 188.9 here.
  2. Hi Gavin, Thanks for the update 👍 Really happy to hear that he still has it and it is going well. Makes me sad seeing it though as I remember how much I miss it 🙂 Still, nice to see it so clean and obviously well looked after. Please tell him to pop in from time to time to let us know how he is getting on. Thanks.
  3. You are quite right Paul, and that is really clean! It is one of the reasons why I don't object to the 6 month/6000 mile service intervals for mine, which is essentially an additional oil change. Whenever I see a car with a 2 year or 20,000 mile service interval, I can't help but think it is just the lease companies shifting the problems to someone else since they won't own the car when the problems arise.
  4. Kieran, would this place also doing dashcam installations? Potentially looking for a couple of cars and would rather leave it down to the professionals if trim pieces need removing. A decent, trustworthy place is always nice to know and Alton isn't that far from me 🙂 Thanks. Charles, apologies for the slight detour on your thread.
  5. Hopefully this works: http://www.thedepartureloungecafe.co.uk/
  6. Since I requested it, just wanted to say thanks to Tom for the thread 👍 I remember driving a 928 GT Manual when I was about 20 years old and being totally amazed! I just love the shape, especially the facelift. Although, if I am being completely honest, my all time favourite front engined Porsche is a 944 Turbo, but the 928 isn't far behind! Please do keep us posted on developments and there is no such thing as too many pictures 🙂
  7. Some more pictures (perhaps in its own thread?) so we can all admire it please 🙂
  8. Excellent, thanks for confirming Paul 👍 So, strange as it sounds, from a purely financial point of view, getting your car written off at, say, 2 and a half years old would actually work out quite well all things being equal.
  9. Thanks for the update Paul, sounds very good indeed. So, for the avoidance of doubt, say her car was worth £30k new. Insurance company offered to pay her £15k for her now written off 3 year old car then the GAP insurance took over and topped it back up to £30k so she could buy a new car? Apologies for labouring the point, but there is precious little confirmed information out there about GAP insurance specifically.
  10. Hi Paul, Glad to hear that your daughter got to benefit from it. Could you perhaps elaborate on how the process went? From what you have suggested, she got Vehicle Replacement Insurance, so was it a case of her insurance company paying out the value of her 3 year old car and the GAP insurance topping off the rest back to new car value? Thanks.
  11. What the hell is 'just it'? 🙂 No doubt it is obvious, but that should read 'used it'.
  12. Thanks. There is some confusion regarding the interior colour it seems. When the sales manager went to place the order on the system, it said the grey was available. However, he had been told by Kia (and it is stated in the brochure) that the grey interior is only available with the White exterior. Either way, didn't want to risk the order being cancelled by the factory if it was a mistake as that would have put back the build slot, so played it safe. The black is still a nice interior so it won't be an issue.
  13. Linas, you efforts with this car have been nothing short of heroic and I am very impressed that you are persevering with it despite all the grief it is giving you. Fingers crossed it all comes good soon and it starts behaving itself!
  14. Nice. We missed out obviously as we weren't aware of the increase, so stuck at 6.9% APR now ☹️ Yes, same, we were advised against the heat pump as it apparently doesn't add much range at all. What colour did you go for? Mineral Blue with the same colour side slats here. Such a shame the grey interior is only available on the White one as I prefer that to the black. Also strange that you were quoted December. When the order was placed today the system said they would be arriving much sooner, so it should certainly be true for you.
  15. Hi Robert, Which one did you go for? We placed an order for a new Niro EV4 today which hopefully should be with us late Sept/early Oct.
  16. Funnily enough, I bought Gap insurance for my car just this morning. I went through moneysupermarket, but obviously didn't get as good a deal as you as it cost me £252.75 for 3 year vehicle replacement insurance on £44,000 from ALA. Still worth it though. I would be curious to know if anyone has actually just it though and how the process went.
  17. Whilst I agree in general regarding the IS220d, there are always exceptions. For example, my old IS220d appears to still be going well: Wonder if it will break the 200k mark and whether it is one of the highest mileage 220's around?
  18. Are we still doing Alton in Sept/Oct or am I also getting confused? 🙂
  19. Perhaps I am getting confused, but Jem Lexus and Jemca Edgware Road are(were) two different companies. Jem was an independent that happen to be around the corner from the main dealer. If you go to their site, it says: http://www.jemlexus.co.uk/Diagnosis
  20. Having my Stinger done on the 1st of August, so can you let you know how it went then 🙂 Peter is right though, if you want damage mitigation then you will need PPF applied. This is what I am having done: https://www.tkdetailingcars.co.uk/new-car-coating-detail-5-year-warranty.html
  21. Some nice additions, but I am not sure I like this: Through the e-Care health check report, Lexus can monitor the vehicle at all times and share the data with Lexus retailers. The customer’s preferred Lexus centre can then make contact to schedule servicing at the ideal interval.
  22. Sadly not uncommon these day, especially with a something like the EV6. I wait 10 months for my Stinger and I ordered that before the delays got really bad! I know it is early days yet, but I would certainly consider an EV6 for my next car, especially if the GT version was available at a reasonable price.
  23. Hello fellow (to be) Kia owner 🙂 Assuming you are referring to a EV6 then it is a very nice car indeed, especially in the spec you have ordered. Also, as you say, it won't be a million miles off the Lexus is quality or may even be equal! 😲 I do still miss my GS but I am liking my Stinger a lot, and as there isn't really anything in the current Lexus line up that I like, I think it was the right choice, as I am sure it will be for you as well.
