  1. 'pearlescent white' looks lovely in the flesh - photos don't do it justice
  2. One last heads up, the 60K service includes changing spark plugs and is big expense (£600+ at main dealer).
  3. One point to consider on warranty is that you need to use lexus for servicing but you can use 'essential care' which is £165 minor / £345 major or £25 month for a service plan.
  4. The main thing with the one at lexus Leicester is that it's main dealer. You'll be able to haggle to get a warranty which is well worth having. Its also the facelift version so auto folding wing mirrors with integrated direction indicators. If your budget will stretch to 9k that is. Also try to get them to update the satnav as part of the deal
  5. I believe you can clear the eml with a OBD reader and a smartphone I would also suggest reading the eml code to see what fault is being indicated before you clear it.
  6. I think a warning light related to a tyres, brakes, traction control etc is a fail but an eml is an advisory providing the car passes the emissions test
  7. Hi Jakub Welcome to the LOC I can't offer any specific advice on exhausts but I suspect you will have to have something custom made here in the UK. Keep us posted as to how you get on
  8. @cidersteve good luck - hope it's a good 'un Is this with a Lexus dealer or an indy?
  9. Is an EML an MOT fail? I've seen eml flagged as an advisory.
  10. This is the problem, they generally don't especially Lexus dealers.
  11. It might be helpful if you could post a link to the ad as otherwise we can only generalise. Mileage is not a big problem providing the car has had regular servicing. Is there no proof of servicing after 50K or just not Lexus ?
  12. Real shame, you had invested time, attention and money in that car and for someones carelessness to take it away. Hope you find a really nice replacement very soon
  13. basic multimeter only costs around £10 and is a useful bit of kit to have round the house. connect the meter across pins 1 and 2, you should get reading of about 2 to 4 ohms otherwise it's a failed sensor. The meter can also be used to check the fuse and that 12v is getting to the sensor.
  14. Sounds like the heater circuit has failed in the sensor, despite it being just over 2 years old. Easy enough to check for sure with a multimeter.
  15. If you look through the CT section of the forum, there are very few complaints or issues at all. The only problem reported more than once, is a knock from the steering column which has a simple and cheap fix.
  16. So if the discs and calipers are the same on 2IS and 3IS - how come the 3IS don't suffer from the same sticking caliper issue? Is it just that 3IS cars haven't been around long enough or is it down to regenerative braking - or something else?
  17. I suppose the simplest answer is to take the cash you would have spent on the warranty and put it aside along with the savings made by not having to pay main dealer servicing rates as a fund for repairs. Then carry on running the GS until repairs are needed, at which point you will have to decide to repair or replace.
  18. Assume your looking for the part labelled 48640 in the diagram, this is part number 48640-30320 Might help your search but confirm with your VIN number before buying Seen a couple of euro-breakers parts on ebay but even then you're looking at about £300 used. HTH
  19. Well I believe that the car must be less than 10 years old and be on less than 140K at the time of the 1st warranty period. If renewal is not a new warranty period then I suppose continuous cover would mean older cars could still be covered. I wonder if anyone has a car over 12 years old with cover still running?
  20. maybe he's referencing the sticking caliper issue rather than their effectiveness
  21. The GS or the warranty? The GS will be too old now to get warranty cover I'd imagine
  22. @Big Ratmatter of opinion I suppose - I happen to like the doobies with or without MM but I just love his voice. Growing up in an era when he was working with loads of people like Steely Dan etc, his voice is iconic to me.
