I never heard about charging it that way. Point is obd is a diagnostic interface with pin 16 being battery and 4 chassis ground. someone just got clever idea why not to direct current in the opposite direction which in effect charge battery rather that supply 12v to a scanner. If you remember that cables for obd are thin and not design for the big load you will be fine. I read somewhere than 1A is max what obd can supply so I assume it will also be 1A what you can send back.

You tinted front sides ? You know it is illegal in the UK if they pass less that 70% ? Yours looks more like 50% to me. As for my taste it is way too dark especially on he dark car. Can you see anything in rear window at night ?

It is really hard to tell. My recommendation would be don't try blindly try to make it working. it won't get better by itself obviously even if you try ach morning. if there is a problem with the engine by running it in that state you can easly make it worse. What you need to do is check all the fault codes and locate the source of the roughes if you can. If you can't just leave it and ask someone who can. roughest can come from many sources, head/valve/vtc, timing chain, crank area, ignition system, fuel system, engine management and so on and on. You need to know for what to look/hear for. I would focus on the engine first, vibrations could be easly pass on the gearbox but it doesn't mean something is wrong in it. When was the last time when spark plugs were changed - should been done every 60k.

Your batteries have last for the lifetime - which is most probably 10 years ;)

I'm at the states right now and noticed ES on the car park so have taken a quick look. From outside it looks quite right but inside is way cheaper - very American style. I've also noticed that Lexus got also models bigger than RX - namely GX and LX. In general there is so many Lexuses here on the road. You are passing one every minute :)

Just don't bother. Car got a lot of clever algorithms to maintain the batteries. You just need to drive and let the car look after itself. As an example I've noticed that once a while batteries are almost depleted and then almost fully charged - all by itself during normal driving. If you really want to do something for the car - just service it regularly according to manufacture specifications - that includes rear diff oil, gearbox oil, 2 x coolant, hybrid system check etc

Check this topic for gearbox info -> In general I'm not sure I follow you. Do you want to change direction in which you are changing breaking force ? If so probably swapping few cables should be enough. Are you really finds that feature so useful ? Especially in Cambridgeshire where you don't have too many mountains roads :) As the car is brand new I would give it a moment before taking dashboard apart. Maybe you will quickly find out that you don't really use it so much. In 2 years of ownership I used it once - during test drive to check if it works. There is no effect on the acceleration, it is just like pressing the brake pedal but through the gear stick.

It happened to me once. I was in a heavy traffic and was watching DVD movie. Therefore car needs to be on the parking brake. I've just put it to N and hand breake on. After a while I get info about low battery level and I need to stop imedietally and leave car on P to charge up. i still advice the same. Just focus on the drive/pleasure and leave the hybrid system to just do it work :)

Believe it or not but it is not so good after all. Battery don't like to be fully charged or discharged. Of cars car itself is not allowing that - I read somewhere that battery works in range 20-80%. Back to the point, don't try to max out battery as there is no gain in it. Just use the car and let the car do the rest.

You can achive 40-45mpg while on the motorway. everyday cruising for me is 30mpg area. early models got some problems with gearbox pumps - check the forum. Additionally all x6 and x7 models are running out of 10 years battery warranty. at that age and mileage I would check when was the last time that spark plugs, gearbox oil and diff oil was changed. Beside that it is a nice car without major problems and for that price it is a bargain. ps. Check the shock absorbers for leaking and state of rear disc for calliper seizing.

First they should measure runout of the freshly installed discs and check it with lexus tolerance. If it is off the limit hub might be dirty/rusty or damaged. if runout is fine check calliper and its mounting points on the knuckle. finally are you aware how to use new brake set for the first 100-200 miles ? As both disc are going bad maybe it is you doing something wrong :)
