  1. I'm on my 5th read. It's like reading Bravo Two Zero... Get's better every time you read it ;-) @Big Rat I should add that it would leave it for dead in a straight line only. The ISF stops though which is a big difference. I am sure the VXR8 has brakes off of an 80's Opel Manta ;-)
  2. My brothers father in law had a supercharged VXR8 and had no end of problems with it. He had a gearbox sensor issue which Holden/Vauxhall would only sort via a new gearbox (he runs a gearbox repair company so he knows his stuff in that area). So instead of getting a new gearbox at a cost of several pounds, he decided to break the car and has replaced it with..... another VXR8. I have no idea what to make of this. On a different note, a supercharged VXR8 (when working) would leave my ISF for dead and sounds amazing on full SC whine.
  3. I enquired about the diff to fit it to my 08.... £2500.... No thanks.... Can get a decent aftermarket one for a lot less.
  4. Damn you... I wanted a white one... Looks ace. Congrats :-)
  5. Conti Sport 6's 245/35/19 Front 275/30/19 Rear No complaints from me although they did replace some Ditch Finders which were on the front and Toyo T1's at the rear (which are good for a hot hatch. Not a heavy saloon).
  6. Evo Magazine tyre test for 2016. Conti Sport 6 won overall due to best all round performance. Michelin PSS came 2nd and only lost due to wet weather performance (destroyed all other tyres in the dry). Those new Pilot Sport 4S tyres do look quite handy though.
  7. VXR8. My brother's father in law has a Supercharged one. It's unreal... Both the noise and the speed. Would have to put HSV badges on it though as Vauxhall are clearly French nowadays ;-)
  8. As far as i am aware yes. It's also worth noting that Pagid make the brakes for AMGs so both decent pads. I am currently running ebc yellowstuff pads if you fancied something a bit different. A tad more but still less than a dealers price.
  9. Conti Sport 6 on mine with increased tyre size Too many bad experiences with Bridgestone in past for me (Honda and Nissan days) and as for Michelin... Well they are French ;-)
  10. Almost 11k for the front splitter, diffuser and rear wing!!!! Wow.
  11. Welcome buddy. Brakes (Discs & Pads) are pretty cheap from Euro- Carparts (especially when there is a sale on). They are genuine Brembo as well (Pagids available also). Tyres are reasonable as well for the size. My water pump was replaced by previous owner so hopefully not got that again in future. Cheers & Enjoy.
  12. This.... Mine does it if the window is wet and closed or I drop it down a bit.
  13. Did a 250 mile round trip in car. Tom's filter is a bit more audible than standard. It's a shame it's hidden in the airbox as it's quite a nice piece of kit. Certainly not made car any slower which is good thing :-)
  14. He was "only" 20 seconds quicker than me around there on that lap and I had 3 passengers onboard like him. Target set for this year #kissofdeath ;-)
  15. I stuck the Toms filter in mine today... http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/lexus/is-f/toms-super-ram-air-filter-lexus-is-f.html Standard hose though.
  16. Nah. The thing is you see with the 335i (mine especially) is that it wouldn't complete a lap of even a Supermarket car park before jumping into limp home mode ;-) I think someone did this on Forza ;-)
  17. I came from a 335i to a 2008 ISF. The ISF is a lot quicker. The 335i runs out of puff after 5000rpm. Its over 100bhp down on it and also weighs about the same. It doesn't have an LSD either unless that one in particular had an aftermarket one fitted. Time gap between 2008 and 2011 seems too big. I think at Tsuksuba (spelling) the time difference was 2 seconds although it is a shorter track.
  18. If anything I should imagine it makes the car slower. That much vinyl must weigh a bit. I've always fancied a white wrap as I wanted a white ISF when looking (Black was 3rd behind white then grey but beggars can't be choosers). Always wondered if the door shuts get wrapped. Wouldn't want to open the door or the bonnet (for topping up washer bottle only as it's a Lexus after all) and then it's black on the inside :-(
  19. Tyres, Brake Pads, Brake Fluid, Coolant, Oil/Oil Filter.... Check them all/Change them all beforehand. Remember it's got to get you to the track, around the track and home again. If you are doing continuous laps then get a brake fluid with a higher boiling point. In terms of brake pads, I ran 11 laps of the Ring last year on EBC yellowstuffs with no issues and there is still life left in them now. I also ran Conti Sport 6's all round and they too came back with loads of life. (I wasn't hanging about either). Oh, and have FUN!!!! :-)
  20. In the flesh :-) Was on display in the Nurburgring Shop last year.
  21. It's a shame they weren't breaking it. Diff please :-)
  22. Thanks bud. Welcome to the forum. I am a bit of a newbie myself as not had Lichelle the Lexus a year yet.
