  2. After a 3am start from a somewhat wet and windy Dorset we found driving Mecca in Germany. Couple of laps completed to make sure Lichelle is up together for the weekends onslaught 🙂 So the RR Racing USRS are staying as they have been immense. Also the Ferodo DS2500 pads are incredible. 🙂
  3. This.... It's embarrassing how much Lexus want for them. I have run ECP Brembo discs/pads and also discs from MTEC Brakes. All been perfectly fine. My Brembo discs from the dealer are the only ones that have cracked on me while on track. I am currently running ECP Brembo discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads at the front. A lot cheaper than Lexus (although pads were about £250) and lot better (pads certainly) than Lexus direct. And as for the exhaust, I am fairly sure you can't get a nearside or offside back box replaced. The whole thing is one unit (I know as I have one since replacing my exhaust). If it's just the bracket that needs replacing then a fabricator can make one for you for a fraction of the price.

  6. I think the track time will decide that buddy. The difference in handling is night and day in my opinion. Turn in is instant at any speed and it has made a massive difference. However, even the slightest bump is magnified in a car that already has a pretty firm ride. She is my daily driver so will give it a while before I make a final decision. I still have the old ones which for a 10 year old car that has done 85k are in very good nick which is further testament to Lexus build quality 🙂
  7. Shameless bump of my own post but... RR-Racing USRS installed. 1st impressions were pretty good. Turn in much improved but... 1st motorway run today and on M25 running over the concrete joins it is not feeling that special. Even though I have an early 2008 model ISF with supposedly harder suspension than later models it is a tad unforgiving. Almost reminds me of my DC2 Integra Type R days. Also fitted... Ferodo DS2500 pads. Initial thoughts were disappointing. I then ran the recommended "bedding in" procedure which actually resulted in someone approaching me to tell me my brakes were on fire. Lots of smoke from pads. Apparently all normal 🙂 Bedding in procedure completed and once they have some temperature in them, they genuinely feel great. The green hell will be tackled on the 15th-16th of June so all being well the USRS will do what they say on the tin and the pads will perform how I've been led to believe they should 🙂

  9. @Womble72 Trust me, no offence taken on that front. On an insurance front, believe it or not, insurance companies make about 3p profit per £. Obviously all adds up over time. Only takes "the beast from the east" or the car park fire that took out 1000 vehicles to dent that. Premiums fluctuate due to various reasons, the £ against the € has had a massive impact as well. Most spare parts (regardless of manufacturer) and paint is purchased from European stores in € so repairs have become more expensive recently 😞 On a different front, staff discounted premium of £250 a year with £300 excess for my old bird of an ISF goes down well with the bank account 😉

  11. Wouldn't take long to get it back together. Rear wheels need to switch sides as facing wrong way. Different exhaust backbones/tips to be fabricated. If everything else checks out then it's pretty cheap.

  14. I have tracked my ISF on yellowstuff pads and cannot speak highly enough of them. About to track it next month on Ferodo DS2500's (to be fitted next week) I will make a comparison after that.
  15. Not sure if this has been posted before (did a search and found nadda).... My brother just came back from a BTG Trackday at Nurburgring and sent me a random picture of a Lexus ISF on display at the Paddock Shop that has replaced the previous CCS-R (in museum). Turns out they have the ISF DTM concept car there. I thought it only existed on Gran Turismo but apparently this Unicorn is indeed real 🙂 Shame it never got to compete against Ze Germans in the DTM. Would have been cool 🙂 Pic my brother sent me.... The CCS-R 🙂 Did some googling and found these 🙂

  17. Cheers chaps.... so basically refit the Takeda, enjoy the noise & sell the HPS pipe and Toms drop in filter once @NothernDan has flogged his 😉 I do have a noisy exhaust as well which helps 🙂
  18. @NothernDan On a serious note. What makes you take the Takeda over the HPS setup. I am caught in 2 minds. I like the noise of the Takeda but have an issue with it supposedly losing power (even though I probably can't notice). Currently have the HPS with Tom's drop in filter fitted. i need to sell one as expensive bits of kit to have sat around. decisions decisions 😞

  20. Agree. Really good channel for all the stuff he has tried. Also worth it for the emotion he showed when it finally went. He has gone through a journey with that motor.
