  1. If the crank position sensor is OK you should see the Rev Counter registering the cranking speed as you turn the engine over. If there is no response from the Rev Counter I would suspect the crank sensor or it's connection to the loom/ECU.
  2. Hi John, I don't beleive that the IS250C was ever sold in F-Sport spec in the UK. It was available as an F-Sport in other markets however. Dec.
  3. Hi Rowley, I agree with all that has been said above. My concern was with the lack of a spare wheel but as has been mentioned you can fit the space-saver wheel from the saloon which I did. I also came from a 2006 IS250 SE-L. One slight difference is that the paddleshifts for the transmission now operate without the need to put the trans into manual mode. This is intended for limited time use such as overtaking and the trans will revert to auto mode again after a short period if the paddles are not in use. I find this a great improvement on my 2006 model and presume it was also incorporated into the later model saloons. There were four different models: SE-L which ran from 2009 to 2011. Top spec but did not have Mark Levinson audio as standard. 418 were registered in the UK. SE-I which ran from 2009 to 2011. 277 were registeredin the UK. Limited Edition which ran from 2011 to 2012. 69 were registered in the UK. Advance which ran from 2011 to 2012. 118 were registered in the UK. At he end of 2019, 816 of the original 882 cars registered were listed as either taxed or on SORN. Your problem at the moment is that there are very few for sale. I looked on Auto Trader a few days ago and there were only six listed for sale. Prices likewise have firmed up a lot. I bought mine two and a half years ago and the asking prices now is definately 40% to 50% higher for a similar car. These are lovely cars and I'm sure that you would not regret the move. Dec.
  4. I replaced the units on my car a year or so ago with Strong Arm items from Liftsupportdepot.com in the US. They are an improvement but in all honesty not a huge transformation. I would guess maybe 20% to 25% less effort to lift. https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/year-model-search/?#?Customfieldincludeinmmtysearch=Yes&Year=2010&Make=LEXUS&Model=IS250&Trim=C CONVERTIBLE 2-DOOR
  5. Hi John, I am not aware of any particular alternate way of opening the boot to prevent any standing water from dripping from the leading edge. I find that most of this water is either directed onto the rear screen and safely away or else it flows to the front corners of the boot lid from where it appears to drip directly into the boot itself. If you look in the boot where this appears to happen you can see that there are in fact two catch areas where the water is captured and re-directed via a drain pipe to the underneath of the car. There will, inevitably, be the occasional drip into the main body of the boot if there is a heavy concentration of rainwater sitting on the boot lid but I have not found this to be a great problem. I hope you are enjoying your new puchase and wish you all the best with it. Dec.
  6. + 1 on the flooding. Keep the pedal on the floor. Always best to try the easy fix first!
  7. As I understand it the high pressure fuel pump located at the rear of the engine is mechanically driven from one of the camshafts as opposed to the low pressure electric lift pump located in the tank.
  8. Hi Len, Yes, I was refering to the 2nd. generation models. Since November 2014 all cars must be equipped with TPMS in the EU. Dec.
  9. The TPMS was only fitted to the IS250C and was not available in the saloons but I am open to correction on this. Dec.
  10. It's possibly hte door switch - the black push-in switch on the door pillar. Try working this with your thumb and see if it makes any difference. When the switch is in the "out" position the car thinks the door is open and the window will be in the lowered position. Dec.
  11. + 1 on the door switch. Try getting some WD40 or Contact Cleaner into the switch and give it a good workout with your thumb.
  12. Hi Scott, Can you tell me if the new switch sorted your problem? Thanaks, Dec.
  13. Hi All, I have just acquired a 2015 NX300h and wondered if the memory buttons for the driver's seat position should be backlit as mine appear not to be. Second question, should the car come with a screw-in towing eyelet as again mine does not have one? Thanks. Dec.
  14. Complete kit, including new pins, on Ebay at £30. Covers both sides.
  15. It's the washer that fits on the brake hose where it connects to the caliper. Dec.
  16. My problem was internal. Amp looked perfect from the outside, all connections were OK and there was no sign of dampness or water ingress.
  17. I had a problem several years ago in a 2006 IS250 with ML. My issue was that there was intermittant or no sound when trying to play CDs. The sound from the radio was perfect. I replaced the headunit with a secondhand one but the problem remained. Apparently the signal from the head unit to the amp for the radio and CD outputs are seperate. The CD output is carried on a coaxial cable. In the end I replaced the amp with another used unit and this sorted my problem. Reading the US sites it seems that the amps (made in the US) are known to give problems while the headunits (made by Pioneer but branded ML) are rarely at fault.- thus I now have surplus ML headunit!! Dec.
  18. If you are refering to the mast alone it simply unscrews. Your best bet is to grip it at it's lowest point using a piece of cloth to help get purchase. Dec.
  19. Try "Rear Diffuser" Have a look here: http://suwwheel.com/en/body-kit-lexus-nx300.html Dec.
  20. Hi Scott, Don't know if you have seen this but it is a recent post on the US Club Lexus site which might be of interest: If you suspect the switch it might be worthwhile to take it out and soak it in electrical contact cleaner for a few hours, giveing it the occasional workout and ensuring that it has dried fully before re-fitting. Dec.
