  1. You need a "nut splitter" to cut into the nut which then releases it. Try googling it - I think Halfords stock them. They are a very useful too to have in the toolbox. Just to clear any confusion I think the Lexus AFS system refers to the left/right movement of the low beam which is controlled by the steering angle input while what you are after is the headlight level control sensor fitted to cars with the Xenon headlights. Dec.
  2. As far as I am aware the aircon needs to be in Auto mode for the defrost button to operate the blower at the max output. Dec.
  3. Hi Colin, Are you refering to the A960E transmission fitted to the RWD IS250 Gen.2 as my understanding is that both a drain and a level plug are fitted to the pan. This is a job I intend to undertake shortly so I have been doing a little research. The diagram below of the A960E shows the two plugs fitted to the transmission pan. Regards, Declan
  4. Hi Alan, Just had a quick look at my car. The rubber I used is roughly 10mm x 10mm x 10mm. I think I used a bit cut from an exhaust O-ring but anything with a bit of pliability should work. Dec.
  5. As per Paul's advice, a small piece of rubber pressed in between the top centre of the dash and the base of the windscreen sorted this problem for me. Dec.
  6. Hi Ninz, Glad you got it sorted. As the fluid level had dropped to the minimum level this would suggest to me that you either have significant brake pad wear or possibly a leak in the system. I would suggest that you check the pads for peace of mind and if they prove to be OK then keep an eye on the fluid level over the coming weeks to monitor for a possible leak. Dec.
  7. Check that the terminals on the battery are perfectly clean and tight. I recall having a similar problem and cured it by cleaning up the battery connections. Dec.
  8. I agree with Alan. I would be inclined to suspect a failed alternator. Have you checked the battery voltage since you turned the car off?
  9. Hi Aswin, I'm assuming the wheel size is the same as the IS250. Have a look here: Dec.
  10. Hi Cormac, Just on the offchance have you checked the 30amp fuse ( No.19 I think ) in the small fusebox under the dash on the passenger side? As far as I am aware the wiper operation is split between two fuses which ensures that you will have least partial use of the wipers should one fuse fail. The other fuse is a 80amp one which has control of several systems and is located in one of the engine bay boxes. The 30amp fuse mentioned above is I believe the one that controls most of the wiper functions and does'nt have any influence on other systems. Might be worth checking. Dec.
  11. Apologies Bilal, The fuse you need to check is fuse number 10 but on the passenger side and not on the drivers side as I said above. (Fuse No.10 on the drivers side is for the cigarette lighter) Dec.
  12. Hi Bilal, There is a small fuse box under the drivers instrument panel with a white cover. It's a little awkward to access but if you get your head into the footwell and look upwards it should be obvious. Fuse no.10 - 7.5amp - controls switch illumination so might be worth a look. It is located in the centre row. Hope this helps, Dec.
  13. Is this of any help. Sensor B refers to exhaust camshaft.
  14. Hi Grant, Attached ( hopefully ) should be a copy of the 2006 IS250 Sat Nav manual which may be of interest. There is'nt much on the reversing camera but plenty of other info which will pass away a few hours!! Dec.IS250 Sat Nav manual.pdf
  15. Hi Philip, Good to hear your problem has been sorted. Out of curiosity could you give me the part number of the microswitch which was replaced? Like yourself I really enjoy using the car with the roof down but would like to build a bit of knowledge with relation to the roof operation should any problems arise. Many thanks. Dec.
  16. Hi Rishi, Yes that is the correct battery - simply turn it round as you have said for the correct fitting position. If you search here you will find many recommendations for this particular battery. Dec.
  17. This is the supplier I used. The unit has worked perfectly. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1087929509.html Dec.
  18. It looks identical to the unit I replaced in my 2006 IS250 two years ago. I can't make out any numbers on yours but my old faulty unit has HBL-0236A and VGA NEL 75-AB511112 on the large label. The small label is market Toshiba and has LTA070B511F and 6C00587 on it. Hope this may be of some help. Dec.
  19. Hi again Brandon, The instructions below are from the Owners Manual and detail how to reprogram the windows. Might be worth trying on your rear window. Initialize the function by performing the following procedure. Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position. Continue holding the switch for a further 6 seconds after the window has closed. Hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening position. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the window has opened completely. Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position once again. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the window has closed. If you release the switch while the window is moving, start again from the beginning. If the window continues to close but then re-open slightly even after performing the above procedure correctly, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer. ■Window operation during retractable hardtop operation When the retractable hardtop is partially open (during opening or closing operation), the power window switches are disabled. Dec.
  20. Hi Brandon, I am just guessing here as I have not as yet had any roof problems but I would think that your problem is down to the rear window acting up. The windows have to be in the completely lowered position for the roof to operate, either going up or down. From previous experience on a Merc CLK convertible with a similar system there is a microswitch fitted to each window which signals whether it is in the fully down position. If you can gain access to the window regulator you may be able to spot what is causing the problem with the window operation. Sorry I can't be of more help. Dec.
  21. Sorry Jack but I do not have a link and I can't for the life of me remember the seller's name. I just did a Google search at the time and it produced several sites but I can't remember which one I went with. I have checked my Ebay purchases and it does not show up so I imagine I purchased directly from the site. Sorry I can't help further. Dec.
  22. Hi Grant, I have fitted one of these discs ( 2017/2018) to my 2006 IS250 and it works perfectly. The first disc that the supplier shipped to me got lost in the post so he replaced it for me. A few months later the original disc turned up so if you would like it just PM me your details and I will stick it in the post to you. Dec.
  23. Torque figure for the oil pan drain bolt is 40Nm and as Dave said 25Nm (18 ft lbs ) for the filter housing. Dec.
