  1. i've booked her in next Weds. thanks for the words of caution guys i maybe a girlie, but i know very little in this world is actually 'free' :winky: i was just being cynical thinking it was a way to get you trapped in the showroom for 30 mins and just HAVE to look at the 250...and fall in lurrve, of course!
  2. had a mailshot card the other day from Lex@Nottingham - offers a free thorough safety check & clean of the outside of your car. will take a max of 30 mins & just wait in the 'lounge' while its being done. wondered if anyone else has had similar or booked there's in yet? thanks guys Abbie
  3. good to see you Ahmet - you have been missed... :winky: Abbie x
  4. i have no idea what this is all referring to, nor do i want to, but can i suggest you take a deep breath & calm down a bit before anything else is said... thanks guys! let's all be friendly eh? Abbie x
  5. i'm pretty sure it was my fault . i wanted to be safe rather than sorry by telling my Sky+ to record the 2nd part so i didn't miss it - but i think because it was on series link anyway, it saw this as me wanting to record 3 things at once, & the 2nd part starting at 10pm was a failed recording/clashed programme...GRRRRR! has anyone got this on DVD/Video???? i'd be ever so grateful if you could lend it to me & i'll return it very quickly :D . hopefully, at least 1 of you will have good taste in TV & be a fan of CSI's like me :winky: cheers Abbie x
  6. to make sure mine is well rid of any rubbish that's been picked up, i pop mine in the washer on a wool wash. slightly over the top maybe, but only the best for my paintwork! Abbie
  7. Tia or Mia would be my choice, although, I think Abigail is a lovely name... :D Abbie x
  8. have you gotten anywhere with this? they've got a camera i'm keen on at a really good price, but i'm a bit wary of them based on what you've said... thanks Abbie
  9. Ditto..........anything to help ← me too. this damn disease seems to touch more & more people every day... Abbie x
  10. will it make any difference with yours being a Sportscross??
  11. :D :D :D :D Mr Skyman been & gone - very impressed with this bit of kit, but i'm going to be 'watching' far toooo much TV now....!!! (only educational programmes of course ;) ) anyway, had a look at the numerous scart leads etc dangling from the back of the TV tonight & it would appear that we've got the following - 1 scart coming from the Sky box to the VCR ( :o i know..., it's being moved to a dark & secluded corner of another room soon) 1 scart from VCR to TV 1 scart from Sky to TV direct my left&right audio connections from Sky to DVD/Home Cinema 1 TV ariel from the wall socket direct to the TV (i think it should go thru the Sky box but we need to upgrade the connection cable - Skyman said it was carp! ) 1 little yellow connector from DVD/HC thru a scart converter thingy to TV (yes, i got it working after i blew all the dust out of the connections :yack: - flippin building work...) now, i THINK that's about it! i'm pretty sure you'll be horrified at this set-up :shutit: & i need to know what's the best way to go about getting the best out of the equipment i've got (that's sounds a bit :o , but you know what i mean :winky: ) when i was having probs with the DVD, RGB cables etc were mentioned & i think this is the way to go?? we haven't got any Sky movie channels at the mo', are these the only things in true 5.1 DD? (i'm thinking that i won't need an optical cable if that's the case?) any suggestions will need to be 'female compliant' as i'm a bit of numpty on all this , i'm ok when i've done a bit of research, but just have to keep it simple first... thanks again in advance guys Abbie
  12. flip, flip n flip!!! me n him indoors would have come, but it's our own Xmas bash the night before & i think i'm getting a bit old for 2 'party' nights together! perhaps we could just pop along to show our faces & have a tonic water or two with everyone before you sit down for your meal? :D cheers, hic... Abbie
  13. i agree with some of the more 'sensible' options already offered, we all know an 'active' type of response would be a bad move don't we?! the guy has obviously got some serious issues of his own that he needs to face & take responsibility for - & ultimately do something to change how he feels & expresses himself. but that's his, & not YOUR responsibility. personally, i'd just tread carefully & as calmly & politely as possible state..."there is no need to talk to me in that way...", (which i've done in the past & worked - even got an apology once he'd calmed down a bit) "i feel you're behaving very agressively towards me/colleagues & i think it's best we take a few moments break from what we're doing" etc etc you know the sort of thing... definitely go thru with an official complaint with a manager. it must be difficult knowing you're not there for much longer, but other people will be... above all - whatever you do - keep calm & stick to the facts, good luck & let us know how you get on, Abbie :)
  14. hope you're having a Great Day Mike, Many Happy Returns... :ooh-ducky: :hocus-pokus: :ooh-ducky: Abbie x
  15. hope you all have a great night! the menu has just changed at the Plank so you can report back & let me know if it's still ok?! i was really hoping me n hubby would finally be able to get to this one - but, best laid plans n all that... :( plenty of good lighting in the car park to see each others shiny bits...have fun! :P Abbie x
  16. that 350 sure do sound damn fine.........but it's going to cost tooooo much!!!!!
  17. :D talk about perfect timing... as of today, there is a new online offer for Sky+ at £49 instead of £99!!! (i double checked this was for a brand new box & not a refurb which they have been doing at £49) needless to say i have phoned Sky & a nice Mr Sky man will be coming to see me on Tues 11th with all his lovely goodies!! :D :D blimey - i really am dipping my toe in the 21st century aren't i?!
  18. thanks guys :D hmmm, lots of recommendations then - seems like '+' is the way to go! re-booting - is that just turning it off at the mains for a bit? or something more complicated?? :duh: BTW, we can't get cable at my house - nearly the whole area around us is done but something about permission being denied for the digging up of the roads etc on our particular bit... i've heard of Tivo - USA thing is it? possibly a daft question , but why can't/don't we get it here? :)
  19. i'm after a bit of assistance pls... Sky have gone & changed their packages recently & i've just reduced down from SkyWorld to 2 mixes & the sports pack BUT i'm now wondering if the time is right to upgrade to Sky+? from what i've seen - i can get it for £99 including installation if i have multi-room too (then an extra £10 subs per month). reading on DigitalSpy website, it seems the boxes are now version 3 PACE models (i 'think' this is what's been referred to? ) Amstrad boxes don't seem that popular & Pace seem to be highly thought of. lots of current problems with Sky & the new mixes tho - i still have 1 of my mixes 'missing' at the moment... but hopefully will be sorted soon. i was looking at getting a pretty basic DVD recorder as the prices are crashing at the moment, but now i've looked into it - Sky+ seems to be the better option. i'm just a bit concerned as quite a few people are having probs with lost/missing recordings after Sky sends an 'upgrade' to the box (but then there are probably thousands of people who AREN'T having any problems?!) also lots of talk about system re-sets & other terms i have no idea what they are on about! i just don't know!! :duh: i don't want to pay £99 & then see them upgrading all Sky customers to + in 6 months time, don't want to pay extra & end up getting a rubbish service & poor customer service backup.... as you can tell, i'm a bit fuddled on this one so any thoughts/recommendations will be gratefully received. p.s. i'm not bothered about HD tv when it appears next year. cheers Abbie :D
  20. Many Happy Returns - hope you both have a great day... :D(not 'together' obviously!, unless there's something you should be telling us...??! <_< ) Abbie x
  21. Many Happy Returns Guys - hope you have a great day... & especially for for Ahmet, a couple of big sloppy... :ooh-ducky: :ooh-ducky: Abbie x
  22. HaPPy BiRThdAY!!! hope you're having a good one... :hocus-pokus:
  23. TV is sony 32in wega w/screen, 32FX86 or something similar! TV/VCR/DVD all bought at the same time & no probs until now. yup - that's the dvd/home cinema. the connection is the yellow ended lead running from the dvd to a little scart conversion connection thingy box on the tv. tried 3-4 diff discs, all the same result. none of the settings have been changed - ie progressive or interlace switch on back of dvd or settings via the screen for incoming signal. BRETTSTER - if that's the case, wouldn't it have been like it from the start? not just now for no apparent reason?? i've not had chance to get another lead today, but i'll have a play around with it tomorrow (oh, what joy! :duh: ) & try Mike's idea. thanks for the suggestions guys..... :) i'm sooo lookin forward to rolling round on our lovely hardwood flooring 2moz pulling cables & :tsktsk: !! :winky:
  24. All the Best Chris - hope you had a good one xxx
