  1. Pardon the Tyger impression, but have you considered a Mac or is the price too prohibative. The Video Editing software (iMovie) on there is ACE and really easy to use and doesn't seem to bog down like it does on most PC packages I have used :D
  2. Have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redundant_arr...dependent_disks Unfortunetly your Motherboard (basic P5Q which is a good choice!) doesn't support RAID. I also have Sony Vegas and it doesn't support my Quad Core :( PS Good effort at explaining Reganlives, I'm just lazy and went for the Wiki option :)
  3. My Lexus might cover it lol so i should stick to the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 (4 x 2.66 GHZ) 1333FSB - 6 MB + £ 8.00 and not the upgrade i don't think i would overclock. If its an extra £68 on top then I suppose it depends how tight your budget is. The larger cache is handy, but I don't really think their will be much in it in real world use. :off-topic: What video editing software do you intended to use then? Any that can take advantage of a quad-core?
  4. In the unlikely event that you don't have a spare £4K for a Sas (Serial Attached SCSI), then I would recommended the WD Raptor Drives. They spin to 10K RPM (most standard SATA/SATAII drives are 7200RPM) and have a large cache and low seek times. I use two in RAID as my system drive for Windows Vista and its great. Saying that however, they are expensive, so if you can afford it, I'd buy one (or two and RAID 0) and just use it for Windows and then get the largest reasonably fast hard drive you can get for storing your video files once you have finished working on them. EDIT: Looks like the drives I have have been replaced by the new WD VelociRaptor: http://www.wdvelociraptor.com/ Best thing is they look cool.............
  5. Thanks guys. To be honest, I too have my doubts the discs can be warped after 4000 miles of light driving which I why I don't want to risk buying another set. Your suggestions are exactly what the guys at 3G said. The discs were fitted by a garage and not myself so don't know if they cleaned the hubs properly, but the same garage has fitted pads and discs to my BMW e46 and I remember then cleaning the hubs so I would think they did it when fitting the Aristo brakes. It a bit insulting to go back to them and ask if they cleaned the hubs properly before mounting the discs I think at this stage but will try and have a nice polite word :)
  6. I am shocked at these latest revelations :o :o What a bunch of cowboys!!
  7. Cheers Aido - I might post on the Supra forum too; more chance of getting a spare set of front discs from their I think.
  8. I have not really played computer games for many years, but yesterday my brother got GT5 and I must say WOW!!!!! On a HD TV the realism is wonderful....just need to presuade him he needs a steering wheel next......... Will have a go with Grid too, so thanks Johnboy :)
  9. Hi guys, I need some help. I suspect that the brake discs I have (3G Brembo) are warped due to vibrations I get at 40mph+ through the steering wheel and brake pedal. I emailed 3G the following: They have given me two options. 1. I buy a new set of discs, swap over the old discs and then send them back to be checked. If they are found to be warped I will be given a refund on the purchase price of the new discs. If my old discs are not warped however then they will be cleaned up and sent back to me and the new discs that I have I can't return and have to keep. OR 2. Take the discs off the car, send them back for checking and they will replace the discs that are found to be warped. I would much prefer this because if the discs are not found to be warped then I'm not out of pocket having bought another set of expensive discs. Trouble with option two is that don't have anywhere I can leave the car jacked up with no wheels for about a week. I asked my mates with a garage if I could leave it with him and they just don't have the space at the moment but said I can keep the car at some point but will probably be after Christmas/January - I don't want to wait that long! I considered trying to find some Axle stands and maybe leaving the car on the drive, but my drive is on a slight slope and I am uneasy doing that myself. This is probably a long shot, but I am on the beg/borrow to see if anyone has a set of old discs I could borrow just to get me from the garage and back home. I need ideally Supra TT front discs and rear Lexus GS300 discs. Car will be drive probably 20 miles max on them and the plan would be to go to the garage, change discs over, send off 3G discs to be checked, drive home on temporary discs and park up until the replacments arrive and then drive back to the garage to have them fitted. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Anees :)
  10. Well Done on getting your car sorted - sounds like a monster! Something I don't quite understand mate (might be me being thick) You say the car: Has it always run like this since you got it back from TDI? I remember you being really happy with the performance when you first got it so did something brake or malfunction to make it loose power or has it always had 278.1 flywheel bhp? An IS200 with 365bhp - approx 292bhp at the wheels (assuming 20% transmisson loss) it a major achievement and you should be really proud! :D Hopefully you have many happy miles from now on.
  11. Happy birthday to the Gord Rev Aido :) :D :D So now you are 30 have you changed?
  12. Damn............. what a shame, so bit stuck really then until GT5 comes out? What are the well liked/respected driving games on the PS3?
  13. Hi guys, I'm not really a gamer but I used to enjoy playing the occasional Forza 2 on the Xbox 360 with the full Nurburgring track on it (good practice for if/when I go on a LOC trip to the ring) :D The console is my younger brothers and he sold it and bought a PS3 last year, so no more Forza 2 :( What games on the PS3 have the Nurburgring track on them that are currently out to buy? Thanks, Anees :)
  14. Good question, I was going to ask the same thing :) I know they are a RHD version, but whats the cut off and light output like? Some pics would be great ;)
  15. Very nice apart from that bride seat, just doesn't suit the car at all, but its your car, so if you like it then thats all that matters :)
  16. HAPPY BIRTHDAY :D :D Hope you have a good day/weekend :)
  17. Status Update: Gord and Chris approx 156 miles away.........
  18. That is funny - the guy selling Austins Aristo said he wanted a manual gearbox for more fun! Oh well........... :D @Austin - Power Enterprise seems to be the induction kit of choice for the Aristo. I have one (well its in the boot)
  19. It is true about Lexus Manchester! I went in once to ask for a part and they guy in Parts claimed he hadn't even heard of a Lexus Owners Club! :o Lexus Stockport are alot better switched on these days however........ :)
  20. Thanks Aido and Lovetruly. Yes got the ARS Cancellor fitted and the geometry is done and I have noticed: 1 -t urning circle of the car is very slightly larger in car parts but not much in it. 2 - backend is more stable and planted at higher speeds 3 - I have the TRD AntiRoll bars too, so not sure if its the TRD bars or the Cancellor bar that have this affect but the backend actually feels like it is connected to the car! lol @Lovetruly - I realised that you sent me a PM a while back, I accidently deleted it but yea, you are not too far, so if you fancy meeting up for an Aristo chat let me know - better then being told I have a barge like the banter I get from most of my Suburu/Evo owning mates! :P
  21. My cousin just bought a 1999 GS300 Sport last week and I had a little drive. Must admit it feels more solidly built then the Aristo for some reason (not sure why) and the steering wheel has a nicer feel, but.............. MY GOODNESS.............its not even in the same league as the Aristo performance wise. I was shocked at the difference actually, makes me appreciate just how fast the Aristo is. :)
  22. Charlesworth seem to be the dedicated LOC "mop up operation" company of choice! Hopefully you get sorted too Adie :)
