  1. Ouch! £145!! Thats a lot for one tyre.... I think I am more tempted to give the T1-R a try or go back to the GSD3 in that case! I have noticed that tyres have crept up in price over the last month or so. Even www.mytyres.co.uk have put them up
  2. Agreed, I remember that, they do give you great feedback, you can feel exactly whats ahppening on the road. Made them quite fun in the wet sometimes ;)
  3. I did like the Toyos, I think you get a lot of tyre for your money with the T-1S.. have you seen the new T-1R ? They have made some changes to improve their wet grip, make them quieter, and stop the shoulders wearing so quickly! Don't know anyone who has tried them yet though
  4. Lexus Jim: I assume you're happy with the performance of the GSD3's then? as you're buying two more... I had them on my Impreza, was very pleased with them, they were quieter than the Proxes T-1S and better wet grip. The Reifentest.com tests rate the SP9000 well, particularly for wet grip, noise, wear and comfort. The other issue to be aware of is that according to my local tyre guy, the SP9000 is due to be replaced very shortly. This may be wrong, but thats what he said.
  5. Thanks mate, I had spotted that one, was just seeing if I could get lucky. Decided to buy it, so hopefully panic over. Thanks folks...
  6. I think part of the original lip has been snapped off when they were trying to get it off :( Its got three strips of tiger strip or something, as well as being bolted
  7. Well folks, much to my disappointment, the original boot spoiler has been so firmly attached to my boot its going to damage the boot too much to remove it. I am therefore left with a decision to have it ripped off, and the exisiting boot repaired, or simply replace it and attach my new spoiler to it. I'm thinking repalcing it and not have a boot full of filler is the way to go, so any of you folks out there have a boot lid you'd like to part with? In an ideal world, Sapphire Blue, and with no spoiler of any description. I'd appreciate quick answers, as I'm going to be without my car until this is sorted. Thanks in advance

  12. You could also try www.is300.net, and look in the Mobiletronics section.. there is a guide how to make aux in & aux out (pre outs). You're other option is a line driver, or an amp that will take line driven inputs.
  13. simon_matthew is selling a very nice set of comps. They are Focal 165s with tweets... maybe worth asking how much he wants? I'd consider them myself if I had not chosen the dark path that is Morel :)
  14. D'oh... well, there goes my theory! Cheers Gord ;)
  15. Maybe its down to personal taste then, don't know. If you tweak the system right, you can get a better sound stage without rear speakers, maybe its down to setup and how you EQ the system? It has of course been a great debate for many moons.. have a look on www.talkaudio.co.uk I got my OEM housing from Alex, jdmparts_guru :) Have you seen the one on ebay? Have a look here.
  16. You boys had a look at this site: http://www.photoshoptechniques.com/ Its a dedicated Photoshop forum! :)
  17. Fair enough ... I've been to both and they're not that far apart in the grand scheme of things. I'd go so far as to say there are very few places whereby you have access to two Lexus Service facilities in such close proximity.. so :tsktsk: there! I can recommend Lexus Hanley for service... as for Lexus Stoke, only went there to look at a car which I didn't end up buying
  18. You could just disconnect the rears if you have sub running off 800W :) I was never convinced until recent demonstrations, but the imaging sounds better without rear speakers
  19. "Stoke is closer than Hanley"... you must live very close to Lexus Stoke for that to be true!!
  20. How many holes are there accessing the boot space? I know about the ones you can see by just pullling the seat back at the top, and there any more? Or did you have to drill some? is it just me that thinks 'Rankins Radio' sounds like some dodgy car audio shop? no offence of course ;)
  21. Agreed :) Change the whole lot, thats what I'm doing..
  22. As Lenny said, it is possible to use rears, but youhave to be careful with the loading on your amp or headunit. Not all are 2 ohm stable, and you could overheat the amp. The Halfords adaptor is an Autoleads one.. actually, I think I have one of those come to think of it. I didn't use the one I got, as I prefered the look of the OEM one. I will dig it out, you can have that for £20 ;) I personally wouldn't cut into the existing loom unnecessarily, you will get better quality sound using your own speaker wire anyway.
  23. Yes you will need a face plate, you can speak to Alex (jdmparts_guru) and he can ship you an OEM one from HK... or order one from your dealer, but this takes a while. Chris Shipley might be able to get one quicker, I have a part number at home if you need one. There is an OEM on on Ebay at the moment actually ;) Only draw back is that you will have to relocate your heated seat buttons, or so some chopping, as there is a little pocket where they sit on the new part. You will also have to run your own speaker wires and run speakers directly off the head unit or via an amp, as there is not currently a harness to connect an aftermarket headunit to the OEM amp. You can't really use the existing rear speakers if you are not using the OEM amp, due to the unusual setup, as the woofer is 2 ohms, and the tweeter is 4 ohms, and the crossover is built into the amp. Hope this helps... if you want more info, just ask... there are a few of us here who can help out... welcome to the club :)
  24. That sounds like a lot of hard work, how about someone like me with without an SC volunteers to have his car dyno'd ? ;) (Although I am tempted by the standard decatted manifold if truth be known) I presume you are anticipating a greater performance gain from the modifed manifold than the decat one then Dave? Also, just to clarify, I presume you lose the precats with the new manifold anyway?
  25. You don't need both!, I said I might get both if if I replace my main battery. Ideally I would just put the deep cycle battery in the boot, but I think my main battery is showing signs of weakening, its the orginal battery and car will be four next May. Instead of replacing it with a standard battery, I might go the extra yard and use the Optima 900 to replace my main battery, with the 900DC in the boot on the split charge
