  1. Cheers Rob - cant say have seen any posts on here for the IS250 must be very rare not to say there aren't any. Its usually IS300H (primarily) or the IS200T owners posting on here. IS250 is popular for the previous gen thats why I suggested try posting in that section somebody who has experienced the same issue may be able to help. Will let original poster confirm.
  2. Nobody can give you a real answer online without seeing the car & doing diagnostic, unless its known as a common issue. Perhaps if you post or move to the correct section you may get a better reply from owners with the same car
  3. Way too many variables... I recently resolved a similar issue on a friends car not a Hybrid. - Dirty throttle body - cleaned - MAF Sensor - Cleaned - Air filter replaced No codes started behaving... Try topping up with quality fuel Shell V Power & give it a good motorway run aka (Italian tuneup) carbon build up, doesn't help if used mainly on short journeys. Idling at 900rpm is pretty normal in cold weather your using more electronics engine compensates but will quickly switch to EV. Assuming you have posted in the right section this is for the IS300H.
  4. To my knowledge the seal is not usually replaceable its a sealed unit so to speak. If your good at DIY you will need to remove the bumper & get to the headlight unit & use clear silicone sealant to make it water tight but thats in the hope it will resolve it. Its well out of warranty by now I think you mentioned the car is 2016? Coming upto 8 years wouldnt be a Manufacturer fault as such just wear & tear with age seals become brittle & with a heavy downpour some water maybe finding its way in. The IS300H Headlights are not coded in so you could probably get away with a replacement unit but I bet it would cost a pretty penny. Try ignoring it if you can help it, until it really stands out then just repair or replace.
  5. Usually after a car wash theres a mist right at the top of the headlight, cant say Iv noticed it being a problem impacting the beam etc. Look out for the headlamp being cracked unlikely though its usually just condensation getting past the headlight seal. You could try using a hair dryer but it will likely come back be careful you dont melt the clear plastic. My advice would be to leave it alone unless it holding a puddle of water
  6. Since refuel reset the MPG 2 weeks ago after a full tank of fuel from Coscto using the premium fuel. Average was 17MPG now at 19MPG its slowly trying to go up. Thr average usually sits around 33MPG & on motorway seen it upto 50mpg. This is strictly local mileage on eco mode using heaters & heated seats & the rear demister. Less than 2 mile a day journey doing the school pickup sat idle for at least 15 mins, iv done approx 60 miles not exactly great MPG for a Hybrid. The battery health check & tyre pressures are good too. Maybe its my right foot
  7. Thinking about it, Infact its not a bad 2nd car would you say it would be a very thirsty engube for local runs i.e. school run etc your the best person to answer this considering you owned one. I get it that any car on short journeys wont be economical but being auto for stop start it would be fantastic when stuck in traffic.
  8. Let it go buddy I know the feeling but surely you moved onto a better motor... no longer your problem
  9. The new Civic Type R looks fantastic, let the depreciation pass.
  10. On a 2015 F Sport there is no Manual button for headlamp washers at least not on mine. No big deal to be fair as you say how likely are you to use it. @Linas.P interesting read to be fair now I'm curious to unnderstand if the big commercial lorries have to comply with certain screenwash during winter months not a pleasant outcome if the windscreen is covered. Half of these issues are as a result of the screenwash being diluted maybe a full drain & refill with full concentrate to reduce chances of freezing fluid from Nov-March? I dont know but I may experiment & report back. Now thinking about it had a Ford a few years back as a company car & they had a windscreen defrost feature which was fantastic prevented screenwash freezing on the windscreen when sprayed & so much easier in the morning no need to defrost. Maybe heated jets & the reservoir including the lines is the end solution & I wouldnt be surprised if Mercedes have developed something already for safety reasons. Have to admit it is abit overkill but if its what the end consumer wants it should be an option. My car is getting on now maybe Lexus have stepped up their game on the latest models. Wont know until it comes time to change.
  11. Yes in the hope the fluid isn't frozen... Regardless I guess a good old wipe down usually does the trick, not that Im complaining but sometimes we forget the basics tech can make some of lazy or should I say lazier
  12. Under normal operation when the headlights are on if you spray the windscreen washer, the headlamp jets also spray which is good especially during winter months. However if you spray again in a short time it doesnt spray the headlamps again, whilst waiting in the car with my little one today discovered when she pulled stalk continuosly it sprayed the headlamps again. Anyhow after experimenting if do you 5 short bursts of spraying the windscreen screenwash it does the headlights again which is handy during winter when the road salt/muck deposited on the headlights reduces vision. Learn something new everyday thought id share maybe common knowledge but this is a discovery for me.
  13. Greetings, Do any of you bother with the winter preparation or just continue as is in the UK? Maybe a checklist may help owners to pay abit of attention & be more careful out there. - Being RWD snow tyres although for best practise, recommended to have x4 winter set. Luckily we have another run around so mine doesnt see the gritty roads to minimise under corrosion I just leave it parked during heavy snow periods. - Tyre pressures do you bother adjusting in colder months for better traction? If you have spare now is the time to carry it. - Windscreen wash -5 temps usually does the trick top up - Windscreen & side window covers work quite well if you just want to go in the morning without scraping windows. - New wipers or replace directly after winter let the old wipers get the beating but obviously replace if necessary - Pre winter Service? Or just top up oil if necessary. Never topped this engine up in my ownership. - Brakes just as important as tyres but we all know the hybrids dont really see alot of wear unless your doing serious mileage, the discs corrode before they are actually worn out. - Check lights all around from a safety perspective - Keep it clean during winter months is more rewarding & better for the paint in the long run than letting the salt sit, tip for you all run your hand above the rear wheel arches & see how much dirt or mud has accumulated thats whar causes arches paintwork to rot or bubble as they age. Keep that area clean. - Now is the time to pull out the rubber mats if you have them as with wet shoes, it can reduce the condensation on windows as carpet takes a while to dry off. - *12v Battery recharge I plug mine into the Noco Genius 5 once a month just to keep it topped up. Although its a 2 year old battery low mileage prevents it going flat when you most need it. Its usually sat around 12.2v however on charge monitoring it with a multimeter have seen it upto 12.9v. From 50-75% charge takes approx 3-4 hours before the maintenance charger switches to Green indicating fully charged. Can swear its switches to eco quickly or more regularly once the 12v battery is fully charged maybe making it more economical. Im sure there is plenty more interesting read if you can share that would be great. Thanks
  14. Hi All, looking for some advice if any of you work for a council or legal I'd really appreciate your help. For those looking to criticse not interested so please dont bother trying to get a response. Asking for a friend.... Been a Landlord since 2017, private rented. Not a HMO. The same Tenant residing at property since 2017 . Pays on time no trouble, undertake any maintenance required to mitigate any issues. Has the Gov Mandated certifications for compliance: - 12 Months Gas Safety check - 5 year Electrical inspection - 10 Year Energy Performance certificate band (E) to rent The issue is the local Council borough introduced a Selective Licensing scheme for certain areas, application process if granted issues a Landlord a License for 5 years. Which my friend claims he was unaware of. The council have not contacted him to enforce any action & has unintentionally been breaking the law. Now the worry is he if he applies will he get questioned & fined for not applying, or would you wait it out until the Council reach out threatening enforcement action. Loads of articles online about rogue Landords etc which is causing him distress & worry. To retain the same tenant since 2017 he has done well so can vouch hes looked after them/the property. However his downfall is not keeping up with the latest regulations. Appreciate any sound advise on this on how to proceed. Ive suggested better late than never to apply & be honest, but he is genuinely stressed about the whole situation. *Admin if this type of post is not accepted please feel free to remove, apologies.
  15. I had Nexen tyres dealer supplied when I bought the car, they started cracking at 3 years old had an MOT advisory for it. Noticed below 3 degrees the rear was kicking out under medium acceleration hard rubber compound in winter temps didnt help. I wouldnt recommend them but if your on a budget they will do the job but you have to be switched on incase it snaps out in heavy rain being RWD. Doesnt give much confidence. Have since gone to UniRoyal Rainsport 5 tyres fantastic in the rain in typical British weather up north car feels planted.
  16. Eco does make a noticeable difference at least on mine, on local routes <40MPH It looks for any opportunity to switch to EV. In Sport its ready to go engine stays on longer probably for the extra kick, on local route Sport mode is unnecessary unless your looking to make a quick get away its v lively not ideal in slow moving traffic. Just my view on it, I stopped paying attention to the MPG figures a while back.
  17. List of Mods is endless.... There are mods that are performance orientated or just make the car look like absolute *****. Of course each person has their own taste but that is open to debate. However if your really eager start with subtle mods. Window tints, performance alloys/tyres (lightweight), window deflectors, Painted calipers, performance tyres. You will generally find the general Lexus population do not do 'Mods' as such as it ruins the image of Toyotas Rolls Royce. Not to mention each mod has to de declared for insurance purposes they look to decline a claim for any reason hopefully thats enough to put you off. All the best...
  18. Mine is exactly the same nothing at all to worry about. These engines run super clean, if your really bothered try & engine oil flush at your next service. Even doing regular oil changes you never fully get oil out from the sump the dipstick is dipping into the bottom of the sump hence the slight pick up of darker oil however it will generally mix & get drained out anyway at a service. As long as the dip stick is not gritty or chocolatey you can sleep well. Even with neglected long oil change intervals these engines wont give up too easily. Just to give you reassurance we have another car with a diesel engine & the oil turns dark within a space of 500 miles after an oil change using good quality (branded) oil.
  19. Thats not the brake bleed nipple, that looks like the caliper slider pin/bush dust cover. If that gets dirt or contaminated the pads will not move freely resulting in uneven pad wear as it will seize up. (Image looks blury so apologies if im wrong)
  20. Took screen before I changed any settings... Here you go directly from the app.

  22. Dont see why it would break your warranty your not tampering with the car as such to drive any negative defects. Your simply unlocking features pre-installed on the car from the manufacturer. Certain features are disabled as they are optional. It does not allow alteration/ modifications to the drivetrain, engine or hybrid system if anything it will tell you theres a fault go to a dealer to get the work undertaken whilst your in the warranty period. (Just my view on it anyway) Even the carcarenut recommends it..
