  1. My dealer agreed to match any other quote I could show them, although this was before I signed the purchase contract.
  2. So in effect Lexus are saying that their cars are not suitable if you plan to leave them at an airport for 2 weeks whilst you go on vacation? Really 🤔, not in my experience🙄
  3. I made the move last year for very similar reasons to yourself, although the decision was mainly driven by my wife who wanted a smaller car. She always found the RX to be a bit on the large size for the narrow country lanes around where we live. I would pretty much agree with your assessment after your test drive with the exception of your “a little slower” view, I find the NX450h a little quicker if you take it out of eco mode. The tech still has some limitations. Overall my preference is still the RX for the reasons which you state but the one big upside of the NX450h is the much better fuel economy, even in petrol only mode on long journeys. The 4cyl engine is not as refined as the 6cyl one in the RX but it isn’t far behind and is still much more refined than most 4cyl engines. However, the CV box does seem to be more refined over the 2018 RX we had.
  4. @Kenny Barclay Ah, ok understood. I know that certain models will be capable of remote manoeuvring at some point in the future but the software for the app is not yet developed so thought that it what you were maybe referring to. The pre-heat on mine works fine but sometimes the command from the app can take a minute or so to show that the command has been recognised by the car
  5. Out of curiosity, can someone please indicate why you would need to use remote starting when the the car (NX450h+) can be pre-heated from the app? I can understand it if the car’s software enabled remote manoeuvring by the app (parked in a tight space or garage etc) but other than that I’m stumped
  6. Why not speak to the dealer principal, it might just be a prat in the service/after sales dept you’ve been dealing with?
  7. Not like Porsche dealers to tell prospective customers that is it 😉 Its call up selling, results in increased profit per car sold🙄
  8. When you read the complete page in that link, the warranty info does contradict itself in different paragraphs/section headings. For the past few years the Lexus warranty has always been, and still is, 3 years or 60,000 miles for all non wear and tear components with those components relating to the hybrid system being 5 years or 100,000 miles. I suspect the particular paragraph/section which you have quoted from within the link has been cut & pasted by Lexus from the Toyota warranty terms. Toyota did provide a 5 year warranty on its cars until 2021
  9. I always found the heated wheel in the RX just right. The heated wheel in our replacement NX450h gets far too hot in my opinion, but the whole of the wheel is heated.
  10. Same answers from me as in your previous post in the RX section
  11. You won’t necessarily hear it coming from the tyres since as they skip/drag a little you will get the sort of sound you are hearing which will feel like a thudding/vibration through the steering. The fact that you admit that it soon disappears once you straighten the wheels and drive off, along with the comments on here should tell you that it is nothing to worry about. You could of course always donate a few £ to your friendly dealer and ask them to investigate & fit any new parts that they thing fit.😉
  12. Welcome, I have the exact same model, it’s a fine car. To answer your questions 1. The car limits the charge to 7kwh. My home charger is capable of up to 23kwh so any en-route chargers which use the same cable connection will be ok. Be aware though that a full charge will take approx 2.5 hours 2. The infotainment is ok but it’s logic is at times illogical 😉 3. The SatNav isn’t great in my opinion, I find that it can pick some strange routes at times and traffic info is a bit late. I tend to use google maps which gives consistently good routes and is good with traffic updates and re routing
  13. I used to get this on my RX, it was more prominent if the car was put away wet or it was damp It only happened during the initial turn to full lock so I put it down to crabbing due to damp bushes somewhere in the steering components. As you mentioned, it only happens once during each initial manoeuvre so it didn’t concern me
  14. I saw your post to that effect, but you have missed the irony of my post since I believe that the Lexus Cambridge dealership is part of the Steven Eagle Group as is Ipswich, so why the difference in policy between dealerships in the same group.
  15. Was this Steven Eagle on Cambridge? If so I am not surprised by the lack of room for parking, their Ipswich branch is the same mainly due to them sharing the premises with the dealer’s Toyota dealership. However, I cannot speak highly enough of the Steven Eagle Ipswich branch. I have always received excellent service from them, both in the buying experience and afterwards. It was they who told me that it was Lexus policy to replenish fuel used when having to return to them for warranty and recall work
  16. No, I usually forget to press the release button after years of just walking around to the fuel flap and pushing against the spring loaded mechanism. Now I have to get out of the car & walk to the fuel flap, press it until I realise that I have to release it from inside the car, return to drivers seat, press the release button and go back to fuel flap. God help me if mine sticks and if you’re in a hurry don’t get behind me at a fuel pump🙄
  17. Updated my 450h this afternoon, navigation and voice recognition. Update appeared to be successful although I haven’t tried it yet but no error message returned and app works fine. Took 25 minutes to complete. I’ll report back on speed camera database etc after next outing in to speed camera areas, although it doesn’t bother me a great deal since the speed camera database on my Thinkware dashcam is much more useful and updates monthly.
  18. Updated mine this afternoon, navigation and voice commands, and update appeared to be successful. Haven’t tried it yet but no error message returned and app works fine. Took 25 minutes to complete If yours has failed do you get another download command if you manually select software update.
  19. Ken, see my post above of Sept 25th. General consensus appears to be that it has something to do with the calculation down to the reserve tank, which there could be some truth in if you consider the amount of fuel my fill up took🤔
  20. Dealer clearly told me that it was Lexus policy on recalls. I was sat waiting for the car so told them not to bother since it was almost full, their response “we have to replenish the fuel sir, it is Lexus policy that we do so”
  21. Well you did ask😉 My initial thought is that your dealer has been less than honest with you. I ordered the exact same model end of Jan and was then quoted early June as a delivery date. Mid April my dealer told me it would be end of July, after calling me every 2 weeks and advising me to expect delays of a few weeks since mid March. He also told me in that mid April telephone call that if I was to have ordered at that point I would be lucky to see delivery by the end of the year. The car arrived end of July as indicated mid April.
  22. I was thinking that you have high expectations 😂😂😂😂
