  1. What reg is you GS300 Derek ? There is a company within the gold members section which does filters for GS300 1998 onwards which may be of use. Not sure what the rules are on giving out the suppliers name though ?? Maybe someone else can enlighten us on that one?? Details of the filter:
  2. Hope the new upgrade will bring me the  smiley as I am lost with out it, it's like not being able to put a '.' at the end of every sentance for me :D
  3. Well any picture from here would be my entry.... http://www.jiberjaber.org.uk/cm/thumbnails.php?album=87 There are a few more of it actually cleaned up that I took whilst back in Boro at the weekend as well which I will put on tonight. Shame I only had the Tees Barrage to use as a backdrop as I didnt have tome to take it up onto the Moors for a better background.
  4. Sorry Chris I dont think I can make that weekend as my parents are due to be visiting either that or the first one in Dec.
  5. Yeah, colour coded them myself, I can't take all the glory though as the info is on this board if you look hard enough :) Paint came from Lexus parts dept, 8.99 for a 150mm tin which includes the clear laquer (sp? :) )and a couple of little brushes and some instructions on how to touch up stone chips. I mounted the sensors into some cardboard first and then gave them three - four light coats of the colour spray (leaving it to dry for about 1 hour) and then about 1 hour later a coat of the clear spray. I drilled the holes with a 19mm hole saw and arbour and then opened out the holes with a round file till the fitted very snuggly... a bit of washing up liquid aids the push fit into the bumper. A bit of advise if you are going to do it with the bumper on is to remove the rear light (right hand side) as then you can see where the foam is inside the bumper to check your not going to hit it with the drill bit. The destuctions stated 45-55mm height so I put mine at 55mm and that left enough clearence to miss the foam with the drill. HTH
  6. Maybe you should take a ride with somebody who has changed their roll bars - you may change your mind. Like someone local....<cough cough> :D Yeah.. but the car is only 1 month old so I am a bit nervous of makeing any significant structural alterations just yet - give it a year and that might change :) I dont mind bolting somethings on... parking sensors, car kit and PDA mount etc... but messing with teh suspension just yet may not be totaly wise given that it's so new :) Might take you up on that offer for a try out though... but just not yet, even the sound of Don's S/C the other weekend had me thinking of what to do next ;) I got the lex to slow down not speed up :)
  7. My sister went there for her Honeymoon and was very happy with it :)
  8. All sounds to much wrt to the new car warentee for me at the moment :)
  9. I bought mine from Dave at Prolex-UK with the display coming from SteveAudioX... The set I fitted is identical to this kit http://www.dyor.co.uk/parking_sensors_veba_4recess.asp but with a display as well. If your get it from Dave you will also have the added benifit of supporting a LOC member and being able to parry his sales advances when you meet him in the flesh with the responce that you have already bought from him ;) :D
  10. Search is your friend ;) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...c=16323&hl=mute
  11. Well as an update :) I just finished fitting some car parking sensors yesterday and there great.... Some pics :) A far view of the rear sensors... A closer view of the rear sensors... A the parking sensor display... Job's a gud-un :) (Even managed to poish the car as well)
  12. Congratualtions on joining the Lexus owners club and getting an IS200 :) I just finished fitting some car parking sensors yesterday and there great.... Some pics :) A far view of the rear sensors... A closer view of the rear sensors... A the parking sensor display... I bought mine from Dave at Prolex-UK with the display coming from SteveAudioX... The set I fitted is identical to this kit http://www.dyor.co.uk/parking_sensors_veba_4recess.asp but with a display as well. Spray paint to colour code them to the car was about 9 quid from Lexus. Hole saw, arbour, round file from B&Q about 9 quid total. Took about 2 - 3 hours to fit Go gold and you may get some discount from Prolex-UK as well :) HTH :)
  13. So will it stop me from wallowing round corners then or is that a more drastic springs and shocks replacement requireed for that ? (I dont want to go to far with modifications as the car is still less than a month old :) )
  14. I'm confused (which is not too hard to do to me sometimes...) There 135 quid if I order now, or if I wait till later there 210 quid ?? The wording is not too clear :) What benifit do I get from fitting a strut brace then? (apart from something extra to clean under the bonet :) )
  15. Thanks for the update on the location, as it happens my journies into Northants dont take me to that neck of the woods (it's mostly the County Council buildings I get to see), but I will definatly make more use of the cruise control a bit more within the county :)
  16. Dug out the link I had kicking around for ACPO guidelines (although this isn't teh speedmeter handbook of old :) ) "Code of practice for operational use of enforcement equipment" should answer most of your speed camera related questions.
  17. Just to update this thread, £8.99 for paint and laquer from Lexus (supplied in 150mL spray tins with push fit little brushes included for some reason :) )
  18. In the new ACPO guidelines, there is no such thing as the 10%+x mph threashold anymore. I'd go on the course myself... Where abouts were you when you got snapped ?
  19. Yeah, thats what I am going to resort to, I went down to Halfrauds, and as usual it was mupperty big time LOL not sure why I bothered now! btw, the spray was only 8.99 made up which I thought was very cheap - I had a quote for an areosol for 14.99 + VAT from a spray shop in Boro that I used to use! I'll give Croft Toyota/Lexus a call this morning and see what they can do. :)
  20. Quite an interesting article (for a newbie to Lexus like me :) ). Is it worth the extra effort of importing though to go and stick a s/c on an inline 4 cylinder when you can do the same with a straight 6 now... (cue big smile from the Don ;) ) I guess I am showing my lack of understanding here, but surly the six would be a better starting point than a 4 cyl in terms of torque etc ?? (I am guessing it's a cost thing) (slightly O/T.... The Don - I was thinking about your worries about the temp sensor cable - why not get some heat resistant braiding/tubing for the cable instead of having to make a new hole and all the hassle that comes with that?)
  21. Looking to get a can of spray paint to start colour coding my parking sensors before I fit them next weekend... I finally tracked down the colour reference on here (thanks Colin :) ) but when I called Halfrauds they recon there are 4 types of the colour! I checked the colour spec plate in the car and all it says is 8P4... so I checked with Lexus parts and they only have one colour as well... So the question is... what one of the four should I go for from Halfords ? Latest I can get down thier is 19:30 tonight, but by then it will be dark so less chance of a colour match (the car looks black in the dark :) ) Any ideas ? J
  22. I have had a similar experiance before with an indicator bulb where the filiment has broken, in a straight line the bulb didnt work, in a turn it did, just as the turn momentum was enough to swing the broken filiment into the other side of the filiment holder to make the circuit. :D
  23. Well got back, dinner in the oven and time to kill till it's read so here some pics from today... The NT Car Park... The GrassHopper Pub where we decamped to (seems very popular on a Sunday for car meets) Then some of us dissapeared over to Bluwater shopping Centre, so I guess we had a mini-mini meet there too... All in all - a good time was had by all I think, it was good to put names to faces etc and also to discover that one of the members lives round the corner from me as well! Small world! Great day out, cya all at the next one :)
  24. Not that I am in need of a seat for mine, but I did notice that it is isofix, so surly any isofix seat should fit ?
