well almost 2 weeks since my car went in and nothing to report other than its still at the dealers with the gearox in bits on the floor I think they have forgotten how to put it back together all joking aside though it should be ready on tuesday so i will update you all. i think it will be easier if i start off a new thread and just call it the gearbox review and i can review the gearbox as it is now having been repaired compared to how it was. then ill put my trd shifter on and give another review

thats the point i was just gonna make rillo, its no good feeling sorry for rover they have had years and years to sort their sh*t out and follow the japs but they either didnt or couldnt, now they are going to pay the ultimate price. however with the election looming methinks labour will pull them out of the mire and gain some valuable ground in the midlands. the british union system killed rover years ago, they must take the blame for this sad outcome.

its interesting that flashing your headlights is the main way in which we all myself included let other drivers out of side roads etc but actually their use is only supposed to be used to let other drivers know you are in the road and are coming, if they take it to mean they can cross then they are technically in the wrong :duh: i think its time this was updated and clarrified by the lawmakers. rant over im off out

i always wondered how they were gonna introduce evidential roadside breath testing, i dont fancy carrying a camic ( machine in police custody for breathalysing ) machine around in my pocket they weigh a ton. now yheyve dissolved parliament there quite a few bills that have been put on hold until they win the next election, so they may re-introduce it if they win

ive got a 53 plate is200 se courtesy car at present and it makes the annoying clunk when going over speed bumps. mine doesnt do it so it must be a fault

just back at work after a year on the sick with cancer, so im chained to a desk in the CID dept where i work as a cop. but things are looking up and my new role should be in field intelligence inolving undercover surveillance work and intell gathering, so it should keep me away from long shifts which are the killer fo me since my cancer scare :winky: this thread is so differnet to one a few months ago it just shows how quick people and circs change. by the way anone thinking of a career in the police force consider community support officers,the goverment has just announced a 6 fold increase asap. so there are jobs going all over the country, pay is somwhere around £20000 to start might suit someone, if your interested contact your force recruiting dept.

just spoke to lexus and im not getting my car back until next wednesday now it apears that they have stripped down the gearbox and the synchro is worn along with the linkage its only done 10200 miles not sure what this means other than i wont be in a position to review it until then sorry

believe it o rnot emjay my j reg mr2 had a colision with a badger 3 years ago, the front end was smashed up but i managed to salvage one of the front fog lights , its in my barn and im sure its the one with the yellow lense coz when i had them replaced i got the clear ones put in instead, ill have a look tonite when i get home if you pm me if your still interested and havent found one cheers chris

well like i said wait until friday and i will tell you all about whether or not my new gearbox from lexus makes any difference. then when i fit my trd shifter on saturday morning ill be able to tell you whether that is the answer to all our problems. hopefully after this i will be able to provide the definitve review on what works and what doesnt.

well mines just gone in today to be fixed, i didnt even complain i just sort of mentioned it in passing during my service last week and they booked it straight in without question. will update when i get it back on friday :) coz saturday im fitting my trd shifter :D

i drive steady ish but i still get 340-360 on a full tank. like the others have said freewheeling uses more fuel than leaving it in gear but i had a vw golf v6 4 motion before my lex and that felt quite slow so i took it back to the dealer and the ecu was retarding the engine for some stupid reason, so worth getting it checked, was your lexus like that before the service?

i just paid £193 for 20000 mile service in the uk though dont know what prices they are in ireland

i used engine paint in silver made by CARPLAN its fantastic stuff and completely dry ready for next coat in 10 minutes. :D

Thats what I used to use. Sadly no longer made ← i have just dug it out from my closet, its nearly 3/4 full i might sell it on ebay
