  2. I once found a handbag on the cliff top in Bournemouth 1 bank holiday. Not much money in the purse a few M&S vouchers but no phone numbers. Drove to the police station only for the police man to empty all the contents of the handbag out and remark why so many glasses cases? On opening each one they had £1000 each! So just over £5000 in the handbag! I then had to wait for an hour as they couldn't accept it at the desk they apparently needed an Inspector to sign for it. 2 Hours later the police called they couple that had lost the handbag had collected it and wanted to reward me. £5 was my reward! Didn't seem worth the effort, but at least they were happy.
  3. So many factors to take into account. I recently dashed from Bournemouth to London (99 miles each way) and back on a Sunday afternoon. Having filled up with standard unleaded from BP. I got around 360 from a tank. Then having filled with standard Shell unleaded and doing my normal weekly driving (Bournemouth to Southampton everyday) 72 miles a day I got 340 from a tank. Filling up at Asda's or Sainsbury's I get 320 miles. Don't know if this helps. The only other thing I want to say is that driving my GS is a joy no matter what fuel it takes.
  4. My GS had the radio code and I took it to my local Lexus dealer who sorted it out for me with no charge
  5. Not sure if this was only available in the US? What Bluetooth kit are you going to fit?
  6. I have been putting offers in the Gold Members Area, so if you haven't looked in a while give it a go.
  7. Thats a tricky one. Can you afford to see how it goes for a few weeks/months? I don't like the thought of anyone having to part with thier Lexus
  8. There is a thread in the GS section, I think its titled Higher Mileage GS owners or something along those lines. It may well have been started by Manesh. In that thread someone had purchased non lexus O2 sensors
  9. Do you mean when you went for an MOT?
  10. I've loved driving both the GS's I've been lucky to own. Like others on here its the only time I have bought the same car again.
  11. Same with an Auto don't put it in drive put in 1st or 2nd and be gentle
  12. Make sure the new owner joins the LOC!
  13. I once bought a Rover with the Plate A1exn. Great buy as the Rover was £500 and I sold the plate for £2600 as you say it all depends on what someone is willing to pay.
  14. Can't recommend an Alarm, but if you try A plan insurance they give discount for Lexus owners and maybe fully up to speed on what each model has import or not.
  15. Something’s that can help is to make sure you have a will. If you don't you have to pay the tax man upfront for the privilege of administering the estate. If you are married and have children on the death of one of you it is wise to put a share of the family home to the children (equal parts). This then stops the council from being able to sell the house if your partner was unfortunate enough to have to go in a nursing home (if you can pay you will pay). Having just had the unfortunate task of sorting my younger sisters estate out (no legal will) I can’t stress highly enough the benefits that can be gained from having a proper will. The other point worth mentioning is that it took nearly 18 months to sort it all.
  16. Parrot do a Blue tooth head unit that I think is around the £100 mark, plays MP3\CDs etc. My mate has one in his car and he says its just the job.
  17. I actually work for the insurance company thats supposed to quote you happy! But I thought you all might like to know that A Plan saved me £177 on my renewal quote which actually included my staff discount! Not only that I got a lower excess. As they say it pays to shop around.
  18. I have a Parrot Blue Tooth kit in mine and as a handsfree device its brilliant. Mine is connected to the front speakers. You can play music from certain phones over it but I only did this when I lost the code for the stereo.
