  1. It's funny..I havent seen a single post about this on this site, but before i bought my IS I was reading a load of reviews about the IS200 sport on yahoo(I think) There were a load of people on there who were complaining about the sport losing traction & going out of control...they were saying that it was a possible problem with the LSD on the sports & lexus was looking into it??? But I own a sport & the only time I experienced something like that was when I fitted four brand new tyres & shot off down the road (Like an idiot!!) without thinking about the new tyre film...needles to say I did a 360 degree spin at the first crossroads I came too & luckily got away without a scratch!!!
  2. I could be wrong...I'm sure you guys know more but I bought a second hand nav system out of an imported altezza from a breakers yard....i'm sure it's exactley the same...I havent used it because all i needed was the centre console bit with the screen....unless the internals are different??? I would of thought it was just down to the cd??
  3. Mer is good because it's quite easy to get on & off but I really do find that using the proper turtle wax gives you a great shine & lasts ages...only trouble is...it's such hard work...the end result is worth it though! Welcome to the club mate, youll find loads of invaluable info here & great people too!! :tumble:
  4. Yep I heard pioneer make it too....probably from this wonderfull web site
  5. Lowering the car with some good springs will make a great improvement in handling, but dont take it to lexus to fit them because they will riiiiiiiiip you off. best going to a good small garage.
  6. Nope...mine's the same as the others....push button & wash+wipe...Pull stalk & mist wipe....
  7. Right, just had a good look at the wiring diagram for both....i will scan them today & IF u2u me your email address then I will send them to you. I take it I cant post something ive scanned on this thread due to copyright... Is this correct, moderators????
  8. Is it the 6 speaker version or the 8 speaker version?
  9. Dont worry.....help is at hand...Ive got the is200 wiring manual for the whole car. will check it later on tonight & let you know which are pos & neg.
  10. That could have been it! I know I did read someone mention 70K somewhere! Glad you managed to pick one up & are happy with it...all we need now is for you to sort out your avatar so we can all see it! Have fun, I do every time I turn the key!
  11. Just a final update on the tool guys, It is known as a 5 sided Torx Anti-tamper. At present it isnt possible to buy it anywhere, the only possibility is maybe to get it from 'snap on' but right now it isnt even available through them. I had mine undone by a friend who works for toyota. Give it a year or so & someone will have released a copy of it...
  12. Hi mat, Im definatley interested mate...Best time for me is beginning of jan
  13. That really is insane :tumble: Does anybody actually know what thats all about??? It cant be a real exhaust thats ludicrous!!:tumble::tumble:
  14. I used to get that smell...but ive managed to stop it by buying one of those air freshners (the ambi pure ones) that clip on the vent. The minute i start the car the it blows through & I get a nice fresh smell.... Sounds a bit obvious but it does work well....
  15. by the way.....have you seen the 'rod millen' intake for the IS300?? Picture below.... Thought you may able to get some ideas out of it as it has a heat shield etc...
  16. Brill! Sounds like it's been worth the effort & youve found a new lease of life in the car! Good work fella! : )
  17. looks great....any improvement though??
  18. If you look closely at where you plug the seat belt into then you will see a couple of wires feeding in, i havent tried it but i would have thought that cutting the wires & joining them together turns off the light.
  19. I was told that super whites were better all rounders & xtreme whites were brighter in normal darkness, ive found mine great & rodders the same so as they say...'the choice is yours' : )
  20. For the record guys, powerchips have not got back to me concearning my refund on the chip!
  21. I havent heard of anyone with your prob mate, I think youve just been unlucky & got a faulty ecu or something?? If none of the three keys work, then the ecu has lost it's frequency setting.....hence the ecu can be reprogrammed to a different frequency confirming the above!
  22. im positive it can be reprogrammed too! If that isnt the case then toyota/lexus were pretty shortsighted in development of the system. I used to have a toyota avensis as a runaround second car & even on that we reprogrammed the frequency of all the keys etc..when i'd lost a set! Unless of course the garage was lying to me!
  23. not my cup of tea...reminds me of neon's & led washer nozzle's
  24. Strewth!! 8 Hours of waxing!!!! I love my car but 8 Hours!! No thats way too much hard work for me, think i'll buy some & pay a valeter to do it for me the results really do look great though!
  25. I saw someone post the other day who said they had just bought an IS with 70-80K on the clock...he must have missed this thread....
