  1. Hi All, Had mine fitted today, it as described by previous posters, only displays playlist name and current track (no artist/album name). I've attached some pics for those interested. You can shuffle through a playlist, select from 1-6 playlists, steering wheel controls advance previous/next through the current play list. I have also tested it with my iPhone and it works great, so should work with the touch. Scott
  2. Don't have them on my IS220d but on my IS300 I'm sure it was the same both sides. However, things seem closer in the drivers mirror so this might be why they look different when you get car headlights reflected at night. I guess the important test is whether you are being dazzled by any light that shows up in the left mirror?
  3. I've joined the corroded alloy club - I thought we'd left these behind with the IS200/300 :( I'll wait for the next service to get them changed and make sure I go out with 4 chrome valve caps. On a different note my paintwork is really looking bad, stone chips all over the front, much worse than the IS300.
  4. I have no regrets about getting a black IS220d - I stick it through the car wash twice a week and the job is done I've even learnt to love the white stone chips.
  5. I have the rubber floor mats (Lexus) sat on top of the standard ones. Once we're past the rain and mud I remove the rubber ones until Autumn comes around.
  6. My IS220d will cruise in sixth gear at 60 mph after 20k miles and a set of new injectors. When I bought it I couldn't really go below upper 70s.
  7. There is an option to turn this off - I think it is in the Sat Nav options or maybe the screen options. Sorry can't be more helpful, not near car at the moment.
  8. Black when polished looks awesome on the new IS, but as you said, shows the dirt very quickly. Personally I wouldn't bother with a respray. I think you may be lining up all sorts of problems if any of the car's interior has to come out. My mind boggles at how many non-Lexus approved rattles you might aquire
  9. Yep, had the same, sorted by the dealer who put some disinfectant stuff around the system. It's fine now.
  10. I've just hit the 20k on my IS220d. No problems, drives better than new ;) The only thing that miles seems to impact (with me) is the amount of stone chips. If they are bad I would try and agree that the dealer does a respray for badly affected areas.
  11. Commercially produced CDs do not, generally, contain the extended information within the track file. If you were to rip your commercial CD to your PC / Mac and then burn another copy you'd get the track info. (assuming it was present). Ah, right, sounds like that would be it. Bit surprising that a homecooked version should have more data than a shop-bought one, but I won't get into that. I'll try your suggestion - thanks Si. Some of mine do and I think it is only those with CD Text. As previous poster suggested, re-rip with (e.g. iTunes) as MP3 or with iTunes 7 as an audio CD and CD Text (need to select under the burning option in preferences).
  12. NO there is not, as what you propose is both dangerous and illigal. You can fit screens to the back of the front seats, but any screen fitted within the drivers sight range is against the law. believe me, you are not adult enough to never look at the screen if it is in front of you and a good film showing. Have to agree that it would be a disaster if I could "watch" movies on the go. However, what I would like is the movie to carry on playing at under 10 mph - this would allow me to watch movies in very slow moving traffic e.g. roadworks. Having spent the last couple of months suffering the queues for the A34 re-surfacing work I would have appreciated this.
  13. Nice write up Jamboo. Not sure I'd agree with the heavy clutch though. Also, I wonder what yours is worth after one year?
  14. I have the very first RAZR (2 years old) and this works fine with MM, I believe the problems come with the more recent variants.
  15. Also the external mirrors on the IS300 auto-dimmed.
  16. Yep - had ALL of mine changed and it made a significant difference - mid 30s to low/mid 40s, without changing my driving style. It also improved performance and permitted me to use 6th gear @ 60 mph. It hasn't been back since the injector change so I haven't had the ECU remap. I have noticed fuel economy dropping as it's approaching 20000 miles so I'm assuming it is in need of a service, also roadworks on the A34 haven't helped. At the time I was told that I had the "wrong type/make" of injector fitted (Jan 06 car).
  17. You are all probably used to the Traffic symbols (queues, accidents, road works etc) on the SatNav map, well I had a "new" one the other day appear - traffic lights not working (they were!), but I was a bit suprised at the level of detail.
  18. I use this for my "local" speed cameras and it works a treat. The only problem I had was making sure the direction was correct - from memory you have to rotate the arrow to point along the road in the direction you will be travelling. When it works you get a ding dong sound as you approach the camera (about an 1/8 of a mile I think), however, you wont hear it if your music is too loud. It would be nice if you could change the distance at which the sounds goes off as I'd like it a bit nearer to the camera.
  19. Don't forget that you have a very good reversing camera with the MM and I find I never look in the mirrors now.
