  1. Hi all, I've recently purchased a set of staggered alloys, they are 8j for the fronts and 8.5j for the rears. My guess was 225/45/18 and 245/45/18? But, I'm completely guessing here. Also, I will be lowering the car on Tanabe TNF112 springs, which is 33mm at the front and 23mm at the rear. I'm starting to think it's more like 40 or 35 profile... Any idea on what the factory tyre sizes I should be getting for them? I've done a lot of searching on here and also Club Lexus, but to no avail. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi, I took my wheels to be refurbished today and after taking the tyres off the rims they came to me with one of the rims with the tyre sensor inside broken. The plastic was cracked right across just over the the bit with all the tech (or the bit that looks a bit like 2 batteries side by side). They claim it was like that when they took the tyre off but that’s rubbish as it would have been in pieces rolling around on the inside of the tyre and it would have raised an error on the dash. They just weren’t careful when removing. I claimed for a failed sensor on warranty last year and they told me out of warranty it would have cost £200 to repair. I’m going to try and get them to sort it out but are there any cheaper options anyone knows that I can use to sort this out? Thanks Ken
  3. Hi purchased a CT 200h CVT Advanced 1.8. What is the tyre pressure of the vehcle. The tyres i have on the car are 215/45r17. should i inflate this to 2.3 bars? Tt seems very low, in my previous car, a BMW with wide rims i was inflating te tyres to 3.2 & 3.3 bars. I have attached a picture of insturctions on my drive door
  4. Grateful for any help with the following... My 2014 IS 300H F Sport has just failed it's MOT due to a faulty front tyre pressure monitor (constant warning light). The independent MOT garage said the tiny part is only available from Lexus, and it also needs a Lexus dealer to put in an authorisation code to make it work. My nearest dealer is a 2 hour drive away and they are quoting nearly £200 to fix and reset the system. Is this really the only way I can get my car through its MOT? Thanks in advance for any advice on a cheaper/easier alternative. Tom
  5. Hi all, I've recently purchased a 2005 3rd gen GS300 and am really happy with it. Unfortunately I have a TPMS 'Check System' error, and having acquired techstream and a mini VCI cable I can see 2 sensors are not transmitting, presumably out of battery. Lexus have quoted £75 per sensor plus extra for fitting, so I've been searching on eBay UK for sensors and all the GS300 ones seem to be 315mhz, but I've read elsewhere that UK ones are 433mhz. Can anyone in the UK confirm what frequency the sensors are? Also, will any generic 433mhz sensor work or does it need to be specifically be for a mk3 GS? Many thanks, Jimi
  6. Dear all, Just after a little bit of info. I am after a rear tyre for the IS. She currently has Bridgestone on her which is what Lexus put on her when I purchased her. I only need one for the passenger side as the other still has 4mm of tred left. Just wondering what everyone's opinion was. I am after a quiet tyre and eventually will replace the set once she needs them. What's your opinion?
  7. Need some help and advice gents. So I've had enough of my OEM Bridgestones and wanted to change to the Michelin PS4s tyres all round. I thought I might as well upgrade the sizes from OEM to 245/35/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears. Got to Costco today after ordering them a few days ago only to be told they refuse to fit them as the are not the manufactures recommended size and it will invalidate your insurance. 1st I've heard something like this as I'm sticking to the correct load and speed rating. Any advice please? You guys who have upgraded the size told your insurance company?
  8. Just wondering ... Does anyone here rotate their tyres. My fronts are slightly more worn than my rears. And with Winter coming... [ Still have good tread on both ]
  9. Need 4 new tyres and likely to be going with Falken. Came across a company called OPONEO which was new to me. Seem to be doing the ZE912 at a pretty good price. Anyone else heard of this outfit. Here is link to page http://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details/falken-ze-912-225-60-r16-98-w#59377163 about £20 cheaper than other best price I could find. Not looking forward to having to spend nearly £400 on getting the wheel sorted, but better that then skidding off the road.
  10. Hello to you all again... I am needing a Tyre complete with 10 hole wheel, a good make 225/60r16..... I have been offered 225/55 r16.. Can they match Ok or is it a no go, or has any member got a wheel for sale with the original size, if so how much inclusive of post to DG2 Thanks again you guys.
  11. Hi, this is my first post so hope I have done it the right way. Well I have just purchased my first Lexus IS250 Auto in lovely black colour and all I can say is I LOVE IT!!! I have been driving BMW all the time but have moved to Lexus after my brother finally persuaded me (he drives the GS300) Okay so my car has been with me for two months now and used to run like a dream as if I was on water!!! No road noise, no tyre noise nothing what's so ever.......now this has been all spoilt after I had to change one of my tyres (front passenger side). When I drive I can hear the road all the way up the accelerator pedal...also sometimes the Ouse is pour when I do left turning. I have taken it to the same garage and they say nothing is wrong and that the tyre should wear in with the other tyres in time....well I have driven almost 1000 miles and it is still the same. Has anyone experienced this? I have original 3 continental and one Pirelli part worn which is when all the problem started. Do you think I should get a continental again, I can't swap the tyres to see if it is the problem as my rear is wider. When they guy took the wheel off he tapped it to make it come out...the wheel feel on the hub!!!! Do you think this could be the problem? Pleas help, any advise will he helpful as I am trying to get the ride back to normal.....sweet and quite. Thank you
  12. Hello Guys,I have been suffering from the tyre wear issue that has been rectified by Tony Bones @ WIM. However I found it difficult finding someone in Northern Ireland that would set the car up using custom settings I got told to take a walk in a number of places which I will not name. But today I paid a visit to JB tyres in Tobermore FaceBook. The Geometry Guru there is called Ryan. He is extremely friendly and helpful explaining all the details etc. He even offered free continuous service to get the car perfect, I was told to come back in and he would work with me on the car and make any adjustments I need. If anyone in N.I needs their car "WIM'd" Ryan is your man. Ryan is also the person responsible for setting up the McGeehan Motorsport Rally Cars and a number of others around the country. Kris Meeke won the Lurgan Park Rally in a car set up by Ryan. Portadown Times Meeke says to the Portadown Times "However, the Mini WRC is a really precise car to drive, especially in the steering and the car was well fit for it"
