  1. Welcome Vijay, good choice! Also, I think the tracker makes sense....as for other mods, I think Lexus got it spot on with the isf.
  2. slightly closer to reality now.....https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lexus/is/lexus-is350-supercharged/7145673
  3. Great looking motor, that colour really suits it too.
  4. Thanks for the heads up Steve, I never knew this existed and its very handy. Quite surprised at service detail held.
  5. Thats exactly what insurance companies (which is what warranty companies are really) prey upon, and we all fall for it one way or another. Its all about how you view risks. I like a holiday, so I'd prefer to take a risk and have a couple of days away!
  6. If you prefer your car serviced by spotty teenagers, who scratch your car, leave bits left out when they put it back together, wrongly diagnose faults, then charge the same (or more) as Lexus, then I'd say go for it. My comment is based upon personal experience, when the dealer I bought my car asked me to take it to them (when I spotted an issue), a mistake which I rectified rapidly by taking it to Lexus.
  7. Yeah Shaun, particularly with that low mileage factored in it does become more of a potential waste of money. Mind you, at around £225 per year when you deduct mots and breakdown cover (I only had a brief look over their warranty before the 'what we do and dont cover' bit started to give me a headache so dont quote me please) for a risk averse individual its not too bad actually.
  8. Rebecca...just google 'consumer rights act cars'. To me it represents 6 months worry free motoring.
  9. I've got one of these amazon link and no longer use my big old jump starter/compressor. The anker sits in its case in a bag in the boot of my car, taking up hardly any room at all.....unlike the old unit which created a bit of a issue with suitcases in my boot, which was a right pain! I can vouch for the ankers ability, as it's sorted out my 2.2 diesel car and van on a few occasions without needing recharging. By the way Anker offer incredible customer service, which I discovered when another battery pack from them (for my dash cam) seemed faulty, and anker sent out another without question.
  10. The service manager at my last service did a pre service walk round with me, negating the need for me to take precautinary measures myself. Admittedly, I wouldn't have bothered doing anything, but surely this makes sense every time we hand over our 'pride and joy'
  11. Merry Christmas everyone....or Feliz Navidad as they say here in sunny Spain
  12. Thing is Geoff, regardless of whats on the video (I can't see anything conclusive) its your word against theirs, and quite simply why would you lie. I'm sure its just a case of informing the service manager (asap) and him accepting liability.
  13. I wouldn't, regression is never a good thing with motors, unless its a classic or has sentimental value.
  14. Nice touch, and if Lexus Edgware Rd are reading this - I'll have a decent bottle of red and you can keep the cake.
  15. Hi, as Steve mentioned, it may be your water pump, which is a common problem with Toyota/Lexus. Coolant being sprayed on the engine bay, which is what I initially spotted on my car, turned out to be the water pump leaking.
  16. To be honest, labelling this style of driving as selfish and inconsiderate is a little bit harsh. Reversing backwards out of a drive into oncoming traffic, doing a three point turn in front on oncoming traffic, driving into the path of oncoming traffic to avoid an obstruction on your side of the road.....these are what I have to put up with on a regular basis, so sitting behind a glaring light at traffic lights kinda fades into insignificance, especially after enduring a journey consisting of all the above.
  17. Seeing as nobody else has taken the initiative, perhaps you should go for it yourself! Great to hear the usual Lexus quiet is restored.
  18. Excellent job, it looks great...and yes, it surprises me custom exhaust firms aren't using mild steel as well as stainless, as there's clearly a market for it.
  19. The prius are a minicab favourite, as for any lack of ct's, well lets just say there's a lot of potholes in London...... including the one I didn't manage to dodge during a 24 hour test drive firmly convincing me the ct200h wasn't for me.
  20. Yeah, I can certainly vouch for both its longevity and the noise, having had it fitted on both a car and a van. Although I did find it bearable, as I insisted on the fitter making it as quiet as humanly possible (and taking it back when it wasn't!), I realise it could never be 'lexus' quiet - so I fully appreciate you loosing your patience with it. Presumably the pipe work has little or no bearing on the noise, hence them being reusable. Good luck getting something for the boxes on ebay!
  21. Very impressive ingenuity. Well done finding boxes and resonator that fit - was there anything at all you could use from that noisy old stainless steel set up?
  22. What a ridiculous situation. You go to the expense of a warranty and instead of the peace of mind its supposed to give, you get this grief. I'd be chasing them for compensation for the hassle, let alone making them honour their warranty. I hope this gets resolved to your satisfaction asap.
  23. Well done getting it sorted properly, those two faint lines would have really niggled you!
  24. Nice clean up job, the car looks great, good to see your mrs is just as enthusiastic about the new motor!
  25. I'd definitely recommend at least a 24 hr test drive, driving in as many different conditions as possible, to really get a feel for the car - to distinquish between what you'd simply get used to, and what would really bother you over time. Having driven both the ct and the is300h I found the ct was far too harsh a ride in comparison, although this is very much personal taste, so further reason to spend as much time in that test car as possible.
