Hi all. Thinking of giving my 430 two tone paint lift.

Like the 400's ive had. Has anybody had or seen this been done do you think it will spoil it? My car colour is westminster green what colour would blend nice with this if any. Cheers phil

I think that one of the things that dates the 400 is the two tone paintwork. I would leave well alone. It would also affect the value. Best to keep your money to have the windows replaced when they start to delaminate like one of mine is!!

Undecided on this....I always think the 430 is a bit slab sided...a two tone or different shade along bottom 1/4 would maybe make it appear a bit lower, bit more svelte?.....try a photoshop or something...

Is that the Red Arrows in your picture? I was working (and living on site for 5 weeks) in East London while the Olympics were on in 2012. We were watching them on the telly on the opening night as they flew over, then we dashed out into the garden as they flew straight overhead 5 seconds later, an amazing sight (and sound)

To all intents and purposes The Ls400 range is mainly two tone ,that is the plastic is a different shade of the metal colour in 70% of the colours that were applied to the range .The exceptions were the reds and dark green sometimes refered to as black although one shade of red had a grey plastic.

I have seen customised 400s on Lexus US owners club and in Japan with the Celsior that are a totally different two tone set up but have also been fitted with body skirts lowered suspension and the like.

I have seen some of those two tones on the US site and some of them look really naff but there are one or two that look the business, they tend to be where they have stuck to the original colour but put a darker version on the lower part of the car. The best ones tend to be dark greys, blacks etc. I suppose you could have the lower half rapped then if its an awful mistake you can always take it off again. Mike.

I have seen some LS400s with the bumpers painted the same as body colour - my previous LS400 was in riviera white with a grey lower colour. I did consider repainting it in white but in the end decided to leave it alone.

just checked my rear bumper, lower section is same as skirt and the upper is body colour, the chrome strip in the middle segregates the colours.

Guess all standard Ls400s might be the same !
