  1. Past hour
  2. Yes no complaints about the ride . It has adaptive dampers which use a camera to adjust to the road. Works well in general. We have the 20inch wheels too which made little difference to the standard 19s on the car we test drove.
  3. Well gentlemen, decision time is looming ! I definitely won’t do Nutshell, Marshmallow, or Hedgehog, and having scoured the comparison market, read reviews until I’m blue in the face, and studied the individual policies, that are available to an RX owner ( a lot ain’t) I have a choice of two policies. 1 Tesco Gold policy at £1062, their reviews are equivalent to the likes of Saga, Aviva and the like. 2 NFU Mutual policy at £1242, their reviews are top of the tree, and customer satisfaction is excellent for both customer service and claims satisfaction. This policy however does not contain as many features as the Tesco policy! I have to ask is the extra £220, for NFU and peace of mind, worth it over the Tesco policy 🤔🥴🤯 Where will you place your bets gentlemen, and by the way, any contributions greatly received 🤣😂
  4. Hi there, nice to see there are a few old faces still about! That's interesting re: perspective as an EV - that's what reviews have suggested too so useful that they tie up, and that range sounds a lot better. Was definitely alarmed jumping in the Lexus with three quarter battery showing 115 miles range remaining which didn't seem great at all. Really disappointing about customer service, hope that improves! The main thing I've been struggling with EVs is the harsh ride comfort (particularly the Model Y), does the Genesis ride well?
  5. The manual self explanatory: When the power switch is turned to ON, the red indicator light will illuminate for 10 seconds. Then, the green indicator light will illuminate for 2 seconds and remain illuminated if the system is functioning properly. The indicator lights indicate the following: ● If the green indicator light illuminates and stays on, the system is enabled. ● If the green indicator light flashes twice per second, an automatic or manual Emergency Call is being made. ● If no indicator lights illuminate, the system is not enabled. ● If the red indicator light illuminates at any time other than immediately after the power switch is turned to ON, the system may be malfunctioning or the backup battery may be depleted. ● If the red indicator light blinks for approximately 30 seconds during an Emer- gency Call, the call has been disconnected or the cellular network signal is weak. Therefore if the light is showing green all is working.
  6. Hi Parthiban, I remember you and your IS200 from back in the day! The car has been fantastic. I can’t fault the EV side of things. It’s almost like it’s a generation ahead of the RZ450e. We get 200 miles comfortably on the motorway and around 220-230 miles around town in the current coldish temperatures, just driving like a normal car and not hanging around. We also don’t turn the HVAC off either. We rarely charge away from home or the business but when we do, it charges before we are ready to leave the services. It’s beautifully built inside and out, and in my opinion better finished than the RZ. It genuinely feels special and is super rare, which sparks up loads of conversations when out and about. There is a BUT, and that’s the customer service as you have realised, which is rubbish. It was fantastic when you had a Genesis PA but it sounds like they all have been sacked at the start of the year, now that Genesis are restructuring and being merged with Hyundai. Such a shame really as it genuinely is a fantastic car. Simply ordering a windscreen wiper takes 1 week ( although now that I have a part number , I can get one online). Our rear bumper got cracked in a minor knock from another car and it’s been a nightmare sourcing a part. Would I buy another, yes because the car is that good and Lexus don’t currently offer anything which would replace it and I’m not one to follow the masses, but just be prepared to be patient with the customer service.
  7. Still waiting after 2h for my UX250h Aircon to be regassed. I thought this could be done in 30m. How long does it normally take? Thanks
  8. Our 3 cars have Yuasa batteries. Never had a problem with them. Look on the GSF website for a 10% discount.
  9. I was interested in the extended warranty , but after phoning four Lexus dealers - three of which had no one available who knew about it - the fourth one advised that the Roadside assistance is no longer included. Apparently it was removed sometime last year. £546 without Roadside Assistance is not now such a bargain
  10. Today
  11. Thanks for the input, I guess if anything can do these kinds of miles it's a Lexus. The one thing, more than any other, which make me a little apprehensive is that the car is straight piped - which is something I really don't like and would have to address immediately. Does the ISF use the same exhaust / cat system as the 250 or is it bespoke? (I'm assuming so) Having the entire exhaust system redone would quickly erase most of the savings I'd make going for this one, at which point I'd be better off just spending a few grand extra for a fully stock one on lower miles. I'm also somewhat tempted by the Cat S one, given how low the mileage is (+ facelift), but my brain is telling me to run for the hills.
  12. I've noticed that only the passenger side eCall indicator light is on (green) in my NX450+. The driver's side light is always off which according to the manual means that the system is off. I've not knowingly changed\set any of these settings so is this normal or do I need to configure somewhere?
  13. My recent’ish Varta experience isn’t good Yuasa have been brilliant but I always buy the highest quality, life etc Yuasa And I used to buy from the Toyota Main Dealer Spares Dept in times past where the pricing was very competitive But times change ! I’ve never bought a battery from Halfords Good luck Malc
  14. I had a gear lever lock on my convertible sports car in the late 60's. Two attempts were made to steal it in 6 months, one in Liverpool city centre and one in St James' London. Neither was successful. Mind you, the Maserati air horns linked to the ( Selmar ) motion sensor alarm helped too.😃. It would probably still be very effective if used today.
  15. Also I think it's one of the factors on why insurance prices have risen overall.
  16. That shirt says it all. Even though I now drive a MB, my keys have the Lexus fob, just hard to let go of not owning a Lexus (at the mo)
  17. I found an image on eBay where someone is selling a used LS400 steering rack. The N/S (passenger) tie rod indeed does look a little longer than the O/S.
  18. Seems a very nice car, which tells me they won't bring it to Europe. I drove a non-hybrid Camry in the US and I was surprised by how comfortable it was, and how elastic the engine. Last time I had a Nissan Altima and it is light years behind in everything.
  19. Time to replace the battery on my 2005 SC430. Obviously need something heavy duty with a good guarantee as a direct replacement. Just looking around online, could anyone tell me, would this particular one be a good option?
  20. Many years ago there were a couple of devices that are no longer fitted. I refer to a gear lever lock and a fuel cut off. Appreciate this would not stop crims breaking into cars but would make it more difficult for them to drive away so more likely to give up.
  21. Mine is due at the end of may. I was hoping to have the new security update done. I emailed Lexus customer services to see when it would be available. They were unwilling to give a date. They stated to bbc watchdog, it would be end of April, well thats tomorrow, so it aint likely. I’ve already had the plates fitted. i should be getting my tesco renewal notice through tomorrow, i’ll let you know what that comes to. On recent trawls through comparison sites, £1100 and change was the chepest with a reputable name - the Coop.
  22. Would love to make the meeting, but I have not really been making plans past a few days as my health has been so up and down since virtually the start of the year. Means being a bit more spontaneous than I usually am. So, may be closer to the time all being well I could make it. On a complete aside this might bring a smile to faces. An early birthday present from my brother.
  23. Been a member here for ages but not been on in a while (although I still have my IS200!) - similar to the OP I'm thinking of leasing one of these as I'm looking for a cost effective daily and the lease deals on these seem great at the moment! Borrowed one for a few hours on Saturday and the car was actually very nice - I'm aware the range isn't great and it seems charging speeds are also a bit questionable but I don't do many long journeys and will charge at home so these aren't the biggest issue for me. The car itself is a lovely place to be which was great (compared to a Merc EQC and Tesla Model Y which I also tried). Does anyone know if these are affected by the Canbus thefts? The dealer said the new cars are not, and can't find any references online, however the car I tested (which was the dealer principal's own car) had a steering lock in the rear and had been set up so the car didn't start unless you held the key up to the start button (which didn't fill me with confidence!) Interestingly I have been considering a GV70, the lease prices are a bit higher but not enough to make a huge difference - how have you found it? They've been a bit of a nightmare to arrange a test drive with which doesn't bode well for customer service but sitting in one at Westfield over the weekend it has an incredible interior that really feels quite special, something rare in modern cars. How have you found it overall?
  24. It does look slightly longer and different to the one on the right I had replaced. Lexus dont even sell them anymore, I was lucky in got the drivers side from them last year, I'll have to buy it from rockauto.
  25. Can you not (use string?) measure the existing ones? Then compare with the other side.
  26. This week an issue Don as my wife managed to snap her ankle yesterday playing football with our grandson. I'll message you next week if that's OK and check how you're fixed
