  5. Anthony, as one of those 'potential purchasers from overseas' who enquired about your car, thank you for the updates during last week, and good luck with the sale
  6. I had an Islander green 2002 Honda Stream 2.0 Auto. Great car. The kids loved the back seats and their own air con. Don’t know why they didn’t sell more. You didn’t see many in the road. Traded it in for a 2.4 auto accord but the road tax and mpg on that got too much so I got a Lexus CT. I would have another Honda if they did something other than an SUV.

  10. In our immediate family, we collectively have 4 Honda's in our "fleet" and not one of them has ever suffered a problem. None of them have ever failed a MOT (albeit one doesn't need one) nor ever had an advisory. With the oldest now being 11 years old on 80K miles, I'd say that was impressive. I feel pretty sure all of them would easily be more than capable of 100K or far greater. You'd really struggle to beat Honda for reliability. Way back in the nineties I had a Honda powered Rover 600 and I remember passing that on at 118K miles and the lad who took it over racked it up to 187|K before it finally failed its M|OT on rust. Again, till then no problems whatsoever.
  11. It does take a few miles so I’d keep going but I can’t remember what mine said on the dash while it was doing it.
  12. I must admit I didn't get a chance to phone my dealer as I suggested I would, but I will fire off an email later today and ask for an update. Having received my insurance renewal notice and with the premium increasing (to the penny) by exactly 100% I'm now more inclined to ask what the hell is going on. Darwin Insurance by the way and they are clearly applying greed inflation and in the process have taken on a new demeanour which I sensed last year and when I should have then told them to shove it. Curiously, my home insurers have gone one step further and upped their premium by 118% Cheerio RIAS I'm leaving you after 13 years and having never made a claim!
  13. @Malc1 Honda Stream 2.0L automatic 2002
  14. Common problem - it's not the switch it's the mirrors. The up and down movement fails due to the linkage of mirror movement to engaging reverse gear. They thought it was a good idea to aid visibility while reversing. Up/down adjustment is hardly ever needed, I've easily managed to live 8 years without it. The alternative for perfection is 2 new mirror units at several hundred pounds each (plus fitting) and unless is disconnected from reverse selection will likely fail again.

  16. Looking at the latest comments on the article Lexus have finally fessed up that there's no updates and they're still working on it, so for now at least it's seemingly pointless contacting your local dealer.
  17. I read a few times today my car has some kind of ‘ready mode’ it does a system check everytime switched on so theoretically I guess if the 12 volt low that would cause an issue I guess.
  18. Are top bearings covered under warranty? My 69 plate UX is making a similar creaking noise on full steering
  19. Chris, hello, are you still there? Your keyboard is not typing anything.
  20. The YouTube guy with the same problem as me said a battery change fixed everything even though his original 12 volt battery appeared fine (which mine appears fine as well) and my car friend has suggested that 350amps left on my battery for my hybrid car seems low. So that settles it I’ll buy a new battery. it’s been 3 years since I last changed it and Lexus did say to me it would last 2-3 years.
  21. It's not quite as practical as an RCF, but depends what you need really. I go shopping in it, I've been on week long holidays with it and had room to spare. You get a front and rear boot so it's more practical than an MX-5 or S2000.
  22. Yeah, they are extremely expensive for what they are. A cheaper option is to import them from Japan for half the price, including shipping. 04946-30110 Regardless, I'm not sure they'll cure a "clunk" type of sound, the shims mostly help with rattles or squealing.
  23. You just made me check my logbook and go "Hmph" It does indeed say under vehicle details O.1 1500kg braked and O.2 560kg unbraked. The problem with this is the MAM is 2055kg while the Kerb weight is 1710kg so surely adding a trailer+load of 1500kg goes way above the MAM unless MAM is for the car itself and i can still add 1500kg bringing the complete combined weight of car+trailer+load to 3555kg. I assume this is the case.
  24. Going to take a 2 hour test drive to determine once and for all whether the passenger seat can be adjusted so as to be comfortable for my wife. if it can then likely we will buy, if not then back to the research for alternatives!
  25. Well I got a quick reply from LV basically stating that the LBX was not yet added to their approved list so they could not offer insurance on it! When I asked when/if it would be added got typical fob off reply that they won’t know until it is added! So no further forward at all. I must wonder why it is taking insurance companies so long to add the LBX to their approved lists, perhaps Lexus are just not big enough to gain any importance in expediting their analysis?
  26. my 400 has 235/60s. The spring pan or cups on mine look very close to tyre. But they move in unison. They will never touch. Never have done.
  27. That’s was my view, something either behind or at the other end. It doesn’t disconnect if I waggle the cable. Unfortunately not a second one as only one is linked to AA
