Us Spec Is300

I was looking at lexus.com and comparing the cars like for like, I came across the spec doc & noticed that the 0-60 on an IS300 manual in the US is 6.8 seconds!!! Can anyone confirm if this is right? And if so, why can't we have the same spec?

Yes it is correct. The e-shift model is also quicker than the UK spec.

Engine has more power (as do the engines across the range) and they may have different gearing.

Thats the least it should be capable of with a 3 litre lump under the bonnet!!!

the manual model is damn fast.... so the 6.8 secs are correct.

Compete with the IS200 model.....

manual 9.3secs

auto 11.3secs or such

Guess why I once watched out for an IS300 manual and planned to import one here to Austria.... ;)

I also contacted US-Lexus Dealer for help, but that would require other ways.

It's a bit complicated.....

At all you can get tons of power with a turbo conversion and the tranny can take 450-500HP at the RWs.

You could take it down to the mid 4s at 0-62mph.

I don't know why we can't have the manual over here, surely there would be more market for a manual than auto in the UK, especially if its that much faster!

6.8 to 60 isn't that fast nowadays, especially with a 3 litre engine! The (I'm sorry) BMW 330 is about 6.2 I think....

I just don't see the relevance of comparing engines that are not stock.

How mant people are gonna tune either to 500-600 bhp anyway.
