Their Rav 4 now has the same engine as the is300h and with more power.

The Rav4 has the same engine as the NX, different to the IS with less power.

The hybrid systems are essentially the same for Toyota and Lexus, but the tools that Toyota dealers use are normally restricted to just working on Toyota models, only if they also have a Lexus franchise to their get those vehicles unlocked.

The dealership isn't underwriting the hybrid health check, it is Toyota GB (for both Toyota and Lexus), and so if a Toyota dealer performs an unofficial hybrid health check and you have a problem then your claim may be rejected.

Interesting Colin but I have to correct you. Look in autotrader for a New Rav 4 and note it's engine. Also read reviews of the new Rav 4. They all state that it' the same engine as fitted into the is300h. My is300h is 184ish bhp. New Rav 4 is 192 from memory.

Now the info I've read may be wrong but it's probably not.

Probably yes 'today" Toyota dealer garages don't have the 'dedicated lexus ' equipment but in a years time I bet they'll have everything they need to fully service not just Toyota and lexus but other makes too.

Going on about taking a lexus to Toyota for a service. It only dawned on me that Lexus Leeds shares the same building as Toyota Leeds. My bet is a shared service bay.

True but separately trained technician force. eg if you pick your Lexus up and the DAB radio isn't setup for you then it was probably made ready by a Toyota tech. That's what I was told anyway.
