DriveNation Aren't Sure Either 😀

I chanced upon the Instagram Live feed on Drive Nation so asked them for the modern alternative to the Shooting Brake (see screenshot - my alter-ego being LegoMan851 🙃) the answer from Andrew Frankel?

"no idea, there isn't one"

C'mon Lexus, make my day and bring out a conversion kit 😀

Newer Volvos are very complex.

Just look at the curent T8 models. 2.0 4 cylinder with turbocharger and supercharger and plug in EV.

Wonder how that works in 10 years time...

Dear Lexus, here's how I think it should look.

I'd have one!  The reason I have a Volvo estate is the need for space with my work.  I considered a Mercedes e class estate but the reliability concerned me. So because I want Lexus reliability and comfort I have to have two cars (well, not "nave to have" as such)  Not that the Volvo isn't comfortable and reliable, it's just not the same!  So why Lexus never made a big estate when all the competitors did is a mystery, and one that has been discussed here many times.

It was inevitable but Volvo made the decision that they had to survive and with their new Chinese owners they're doing exactly that using a combination of heritage and sharp styling. The cars will last no longer than the equivalent German models, a bit longer than other European offerings but certainly not as long as (Japanese built) Japanese cars and I assume Korean. The days when Volvo dealers proudly mentioned how many Volvos were still on the road are long gone. Makes no financial sense if nothing else. Everyone moans about when the accountants took over at MB but the company is in rude health because of it. Cars are a bit **** though.

I thought the Toyota Avensis estate wasn't a bad looking car

Malc

I must admit to being tempted if I change for another estate, I do like the look of them.  Petrol ones are fairly hard to find and someone on this forum said the much more common diesel Avensis has the same troublesome engine as the Lexus IS. Maybe someone can confirm that?
