I suggest you look up saab unleashed on YouTube. I've found him to be the best reviewer on android headunits. He's got a rig to test all sizes of headunit. Teyes CC3 is a firm favourite and one I'll be getting.

Same here, it looks a like a great unit, still waiting for Teyes to get back to me, they wanted a picture my current dash, something to do with the button layout. The rear camera will be so much better than the factory installed one.

Actually you don't even need that - at least in theory you should tell the seller what system you have and they should send you the unit with right harness, or right adapter, so literally plug an play. These chinese screens are of varying quality, but even in worse case 10 times better than what was fitted by Lexus back in the day. Technology simply moved on a lot since mk2 was made.

Anyone looking at the Chinese android units with the large screen and a single button in the middle then DON'T get one. Look on YouTube how ruddy awfully they fit and after watching a Russian video they refuse to fit them because of the fitment. Cheap Cheerful Chinese Chit. Oooops can't spell a certain word 😉

Given that the OP was about 6 weeks ago this may all be resolved by now but, if not, I strongly suggest you do it yourself.

Most of these units don't require any cutting or soldering of wires and usually come with all harnesses needed. It's just a matter of unplugging the old and plugging the new.

As for removing the trim and getting at the connectors, there's a 99% chance that someone has already done it and videoed it, so just look on YouTube.

Before retiring I used to repair computers. Desktop towers are easy but laptops can sometimes be difficult due to hidden screws or having to follow a set sequence to strip them down, so if I was faced with one I'd never seen before and it just wouldn't come apart (even though I'd removed every visible screw) I looked on YouTube and there it was - the 'Tube never let me down
