Hks Turbochargers

Been on the HKS website trying to find out what I can do to increase my bhp and torque, cos I'm finding it very difficult to find anything available.

Anyway, turbochargers is what I'm looking at now. Anyone know what I'd expect to get in terms of performance increase? And cost? Anyone done it yet?

Can I get turbochargers installed as well as the supercharger, should I decide to have one installed?

before you consider strapping on turbos,id look at the fundimental weakness of the 1G-FE ...the conrods are like pencils,and the pistons are very light,first thing is to beef up the engine ,then look at turbos........a custom turbo conversion you would be looking at around £7-10,000 for twin low pressure,and for high pressure more like £12-15000.....as the preperatory work involved is quite considerable,it would be possible to do a hybrid compressor / turbo,but again the work involved is quite complex.

the output of twin low pressure turbos would be similer to the TTE/TDI Compressor package,and with the TDI upgrade package which is almost completed you will be looking at ,at least 300bhp wiith the compressor.

Cool, 300bhp sounds good to me, as I thought I'd only be able to get that with the turbos.

To get to 300BHP you are going to need to get the work done by specialist i.e. TDi as Mat has mentioned and your looking at atleast £12000 and thats conservative. But its well worth the money, i'm 60% of the way there and the car already feels fantastic, I am just craving more HP now!!

I think I'm gonna change it for a Lexus is300 instead! Although not sure how much I'll get for my is200 Sport.

The thing with the IS300 is the performance in hindered by the auto box. In America you can get it as a manual and its much quicker but strangely not over here. Its only just over a second quicker to sixty.

Unless I'm mistaken a supercharged IS200 is quicker than the standard IS300 over here.

I was thinking that too! Just being told that my car isn't worth that much!!! Let's see what the Lexus garage says that sold me it, and see how much they offer.

Yours is the same spec and year as mine and its worth £17300 in A1 condition with 13k on the clock

Jimmy, where do you get your prices from ? - would be quite interested in seeing how much I would have to trade mine in for. I see so many different figures branded around in various mags etc that I don't know which to believe !

I'm being told 12K-14K for mine with just under 43K on the clock, and it's A1 condition.

I use Parkers Guide. Apparentely its very accurate in relation to Glass's which the industry uses alot. It says £14350 for yours ianw1974.

i got my car in 1999 for AUD$68K and now Lexus would take it back for $36K... all the modifications don't mean much to Lexus, as it's hard to find a buyer for a modified car.

I wouldnt just go on the price in parkers, id also go through the car trader magazine sites and see what similar are going for.........

!d prob put at between 15,250 and 16,500 looking at a well known auto trader site. ;)

The IS has actually held its value very well (assuming correct spec) when compared to many other cars. Not sure of the effect of modifying on value, has anyone sold a modded IS?
