Last year I was parked in Yorks worst car park....has the smallest of small places.

So when I parked in and then another car parked next to me I couldnt get out properly. After a lot of shuffling about in the car I noticed I had scuffed the side of the Jag next to me.

So I got out leaving him a note with details on for him to get in touch.

Later that day he called and said he would call me once he got home, as he was not from York.

Anyway just got a call off my mum stating a letter had arrived for me from this guy....saying thank you for being honest, never did claim for damage as was not worth it.

The only reason he wrote to me was to thank me for leaving my details, thought thaty was rather nice of him.

In my experience about 99% of people are nice :D It's the 1% who end up being talked about most on here.

Like Niraj said, you were honest in leaving your details and he responded to that by writing to you to let you know what he had done.

Yeap, there are nice people around that are honest, such as yourself. :)

I wasn't so lucky in a way (as per post here), but was lucky in that there was a witness who saw the damage being done to my car, and left me a note with his contact details and the reg no of the car that did the damage. :)

Nice one Thom. I guess it wasn't like any major dent or anything, nothing a bit of T-cut couldn't fix?

That couldnt be helped in your case lexus boy but others just have no care. They have ample room but proceed to open their doors like they were walking into a saloon bar. Those people really tick me off.

First crash I ever had -- got in my car stuck it in reverse shot backwards then looked in the mirror to see a car behind me that I swear was not there when I got in (obviously I am wrong).

I was going to do one (being 18 at the time) the girfreind at the time said no you have to see whos car it is - so I went into the shop to find a it was a heavily pregnant womans car. Fortunately she did not drop it.

I owned up and next day gave her husband £90 for new front bumber - MK3 Escort.

Saw the same car 3 months later with guess what .... the same bent bumber !

The buggers.
