Reserve Tank - Petrol

Hi chaps,

b4 I give a pertol station the flyby with my reserve light on (ickle orange one). I was wondering if anyone actually know a ruff number of miles that you can travel before the juice runs out...

Well my old xantia had an 8L reserve and I had done 40 miles on that... but that was pushing it.

Guess its time to put a fuel tank in the back and have a go at testing it?

I remember when I my fuel was low, it's such a horrid feeling, :( you never quite know if you will make it to the next petrol station.

Never going through that again :D

My petrol light's come on and I was late for work etc etc. So I can safely say at least 12 miles!!!

Thats it something I miss on the Lexus, not having a trip computer as most give you a range so you know how many miles you have left.

Still not knowing how many MPG I get when I thrash the car is probably a good thing.

when my tank touches below half way i fill it again, only use bout £30 a week petrol but only really use the car saturday and sunday when i aint workin, unless its a nice day and i take it for a cruise round town, see whats around......

aint driven it for 2 weeks................

Sorry to half jump in on the topic a bit, but what fuel do you guys use in IS200's?

Do you use unleaded (95RON), super (97RON) or Optimax (98RON) ???

Generally I use Unleaded, but the car really likes Optimax and I get slightly better mileage out of it too.

I try and use Optimax at least once a month.

I've done at least 35 motorway miles from when the light came on - mind you I was hovering at the 60 to 70 mark to maintain economy...

Usually fill up on Super Unleaded - car loves the stuff... ..... Wallet doesn't though....

I always use Optimax when I can, but if not always super unleaded.
