Is300 Electric Seats

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Does anyone with an IS300 know if the electric seats have a memory function? I know the new IS250 has and I'm hoping the IS300 did because I'm 6'4" and my wife (to-be, by the time I've got my IS) is only 5'0".

Just wondering.

Thanks!

Al,

The US got the memory function but not the UK.

Hmm, I wonder where the memories are stored, and what's required to get them from a US car into a UK IS300.

Anyone know?

It seems that the memories are stored on a computer under the seat (that was only on seats in post 2004 cars in the US)

This link to a thread on my.is shows a guy who fitted newer seats to his older car which seems pretty straightforward:

Although obviously you would need to source a seat and the memory switch from the US and then fit it over here (assuming that there are no differences between the UK and US seats)

Let us know how you get on if you do decide to do it, cos it would probably be the first in the UK :)

Wow, thanks for the reply - nice find. If I get this off the ground then I'll let you know how it goes. I don't have a car yet, but at only $400 I might source the seats sooner rather than later if I can get some.

Thanks for taking the time to look. I searched my.is and didn't find that, so well done!

Al,

No problem at all mate, glad to help - I'm guessing the seats in the UK IS300 and IS200 should be the same, so this is something I'll be very interested in if its easy and cost effective to do :)

Where is the switch for the memory function?

If like the LS then remember if it is in the drivers door panel and that in the USA it is LHD so it would not suit in the UK

I've actually posted a pic of the switch on here before, but can't seem to find it! :duh:

The switch is the same size as all the standard switches and in US cars sits in one of the places next to the steering wheel under the air vent (where the headlamp adjustment, rear fog light and headlamp washer switches are)
